Not enough interesting rumours about, so I'm thinking of setting up a twitter account where I call myself ex-agent or something so I can make up total bollocks that everyone believes.

First one will be that league 2 superstar John Welsh is on a jaw-dropping 10k a week at massive spending Grimsby.

That same Twitter feed has Crawley signing a towering L2 striker tomorrow or Wednesday, who’s not out of contract and from a PO chasing side (whether that's this or last season it doesn’t say).

Ollie Palmer pretty much fits that description and he’s apparently looking for a move back down south.

EDIT - Obviously Mansfield and Swindon may have someone.

Apparently Mansfield tried to scupper the deal by offering to double his wages to 20k a week but he turned them down.

"playoff chasing" is an obvious bollocks indicator. That applies to pretty much the entire division. It's like when those mediums stand in front of a live audience and declare that they're "getting something from the letter A...does anyone have a deceased loved one with the letter A in their name?"

Ha that reminds me of Brian Conley doing a piss take of Mystic Meg with ‘Septic Peg’.

What an absolute state the Scottish Prem must be, Sam Kelly who couldn't get in the worst team we've ever had has signed for Hamilton Academicals, he must have a fucking good agent.

Love John Welsh, fitness was an issue in the last two seasons but playing in a slower-paced league might see him play more regularly. Superb tackler and a proper leader, he's ok on the ball, just plays it simple but his main qualities are his positioning and ball winning.

Top bloke.

Were in for Tommy Spurr but Sunderland also interested so can't see that happening. Also in for Adil Nabi.

He's far too good to be dropping to League Two but his injury record is shocking, he's a Championship level centre back when he's actually fit, shit at left back though.

Presume it would be a loan if he joined you but as you say, if Sunderland are interested it's unlikely he will turn them down unless he's unwilling to leave the north west.

Simon Cox staying at Southend. Can't say i'm surprised!

Sounds like Jamie Devitt seems to be more likely although he has just signed a contract extension at Carlisle.

We have apparently made a “game changing” bid for a player. Rumours of Yates but I really doubt that, he’s a top league 1 player.

Could be Matt Rhead

Manny T in for Tyler Walker which would be a great signing

Johnny Hunt has joined Stevenage on a free transfer, one of our ‘transfer listed’ players.

He’s decent but offers nothing going forward really for a full back, Mal Benning is always going to be our first choice LB.

Using a youth understudy to be back up now, which is what stags fans have always wanted in certain positions to take advantage of our fantastic academy.

James alabi has joined Leyton Orient.
He was given 9 games in a side that started woefully as a whole. Of those 9, just 5 were starts and he was unceremoniously dumped at Dover for the rest of the season. Say what you will about the off-field situation, but on a footballing basis, he wasn't given a chance.

He's young, powerful and can finish, but is clearly a confidence player and the 'show' on instagram, etc, appears to be pure bluff. Listen to his interviews and you'll never hear someone as softly spoken again.

Wish him well at Orient, think he could surprise a large portion of our fans. Don't be put off O's fans, make your own minds up.

You must be gutted.
Absolutely.

From the moment he fell over the ball with his first touch, to claiming he’s play in the premier league, I knew it’d be a disaster to
lose him.

A London based club no doubt a better fit for a fashion-conscious instagram superstar like James Alabi.

Got a feeling the 'game changer' we have bid for is probably Jorge Grant. He bought a house in the area last year and must be so far down the pecking order now at Forest after their recent activity that he is practically invisible

We'll have Grantham Town striker Lee Shaw training with us when we return, and possibly off to Portugal as well.

50 or so goals over the last two season albeit in the Northern Prem, which is three leagues below the FL. Just spent a week at Vardy's academy.

We’ve just announced signing of Manny Monthe from the vegans, the promise of a Wagyu burger every Monday was too good to turn down.

I make our squad as 19 players now, probably going to sign a full back, Centre mid and striker or winger to take us to 22 and that’ll be it.

Monthe looked a good player against us last season, albeit slightly erratic at times.

Where has this come from? There’s no reports of this up here.

Only 1k more than we were paying Hemmings last season so it’s not too much of a surprise to me. Obviously it’s big money at this level but if he comes in and scores 20 then it’s worth it IMO.

Not if he scores 20 and you still don’t get promoted it isn’t.

He was a man mountain when it mattered at Wembley. Don’t think he’ll be first choice, though looking at our squad we may be swapping to a 3-5-2 which I believe Mellon has used with both Shrewsbury and Fleetwood in this league.
