Unlike Akinde, he's on a long term deal, has a better all round game, is younger, has had plenty of Championship interest and we don't need the money so wont be pressured into a sale. We put a £2million price tag on him in January, and rightly so imo.

Doesn't mean anyone will pay it mind, but if they don't then they wont be signing him.

Fair point, not sure he’ll be playing regularly to be honest, especially now we’ve signed right back Tyler Forbes. He’s fitness coach now, but will be a useful squad member with his, shall we say 100% commitment!

Whilst Akinde could be a great signing, I’d personally feel slightly uneasy paying that much for a 28 year old coming off the back of the season he’s just had.

IF you get the Akinde of old then you’re in luck, but I reckon there are players out there who would’ve cost you less who will present less of a risk.

That really. Was very good when he first came on loan three seasons ago but not always first choice last season. Good squad player, can do a decent job either in central defence or midfield but not guaranteed to start in either position.

‘ExAgent’ has suggested Danny Rose has plenty of interest but he’s probably not going anywhere, I got hounded on Stagsnet by a few for suggesting he would be sold if a certain fee was met but that it probably would not.

He’s also put that Lee Angol could end up on loan in the national league which would be crazy. He underperformed last season but he still got a good game to goal ratio, we only have four strikers so he’s clearly got a part to play and I can’t see how dropping a level is going to help his career.

The fact Angol is your 4th striker , shows how good (best in L2?) the Stags forwards are on paper for this upcoming season! Very impressive , the combined wages of those 4 must much sizeable to say the least.

Certainly going to be some “big” forwards knocking around in league 2 next season, either in stature or name.
