Cambridge are barely relevant in this division, or any division in fact. You're the epitome of a club that just exists for the sake of existing. Doubt any punters ever put you on an accumulator, win or lose.

Enjoy another 12th placed season Big Tommo!

(Forgive me Vinny)

Funnily enough before you started supporting Lincoln a couple of years ago, the above was a fabulous description of Lincoln (In the Conference)

We would have been delighted to reach the giddy heights of 12th in the Conference the many seasons before we won the Championship.

You do realise others can read your posts right? Cambridge certainly have been more relevant and in higher divisions during my life time. They call it the 2nd tier of English football

Christ. They’re paying more than £200k upfront, but with addons that could potentially rise up to around the £400k mark, which is why the rumour isn’t entirely inaccurate.

We're looking forwards not backwards. Positivity in the water in this part of the county. JOLLEY OUT! (September 1st)

£200K? Well for starters they could of signed Hemmings or Dennis and had a fair chunk of change. But would you pick any of those two over Akinde?

Stockley would cost a lot more than £200K. Can you suggest any viable options ? Don’t need a list, but if you are going throw ‘plenty’ around you should be able to name a few.

I’m a gambler. I like gambles. So I say Lincoln City FC , go for it. Strike whilst the iron is hot win me some money

I’m not saying this to be pedantic but Dennis scored twice as many goals as Akinde, both with relegated sides.

Stockley certainly wouldn’t cost more than 250k, so he can go in.

They were decent for a bit too. Steve Claridge and Dion Dublin up top in the old Division One. Impish won't know what Division One is/was for several reasons though, bless him.

Every club is looking forward - especially in L2 where Stanley proved any club has a chance. Some of the Lincoln fans seem to think success is a given, no effort needed, just turn up lads. Pride cometh before a fall.

You would rather have Dennis than Akinde for 2018/19? If so, that’s a good sign for my fellows pies and myself. For Notts to go up, Dennis has to score around 20

If Stockley costs only £250K someone should snap......him.....up!

I disagree with Impish regarding Cambridge, you can nearly always find a Cambridge fan in 4 star hotel while on holiday in Mallorca.

On the other hand, Colchester and Bury - two clubs I will definitely forget about when I do a full league 2 prediction table.

Colchester are so forgettable that I actually remember them, though. Sometimes when I am bored at work, I will try and list all 92 league clubs and they are on my list of clubs that I always used to forget but have done so so many times that they are now impossible to forget.

I’d say there’s not much in it between Dennis and Akinde, both have very similar goals to games records through their careers (Dennis’ is better) and Akinde has come off the back of a poor season.

So would I have Dennis and change for another player, probably.

If you're picking any striker in the division in their current condition/age/form then it has to be Eisa for me. Will almost certainly hit 20+ and great sell on potential. I haven't seen a massive amount of Stickler though, to be fair.

Being good was the trend in the 90s. Nowadays all the cool clubs try to nail 12th in league 2. It's much harder than getting promoted.

We must be strong pre-season favourites for the mid-table cup too, having taken the wise decision not to sign any additional quality for a bang average squad.

As soon as the fixtures came out the critics immediately dubbed Grimsby v Crewe on the final day as THE BATTLE FOR 14TH.

I didn’t ask that but never mind. Hopefully you are right and Dennis proves a good signing

He’s got a 1 in 2 record more of less in about 300 games. He’s played for much bigger clubs than anyone in this division. Even last season he scored 8 in 15 for us and we were utter shite. Question his ability to finish a season by all means but to question his ability over the rest of this division is laughable.

I will - I questioned you on whether he’ll be the best forward down here this season.which seems a rather outlandish statement to me. You don’t get bonus goals for being good scoring at old Trafford a decade or so ago for instance. Time will tell, but I get the distinct feeling he won’t be. To state that he’s the best forward down here at current is rather amusing. But if it makes you feel better, then that’s cool

Eh? I thought losing in the lge 2 play offs was pretty normal for Lincoln.

Oh sorry I forgot you haven't followed them for that long have you.

Wtf are you on about. I never mentioned any of his goals. He scored an overhead kick v Fleetwood which is a much better goal. The point was you laughing at a striker who has a 1 in 2 record in his whole career which insinuates that Mansfield must be very privileged with good strikers. My initial post was tongue in cheek as “best” is very subjective and to be honest quite boring.
