Milsom would be a good signing imo. Not entirely sure what he did to piss off Nolan but it must have been fairly spectacular given he was as outstanding for him when he defied the drop...

I've just had a read through his comments, quite worrying that DavidImp and Plumbob both thought they were real estimates, even though pretty obvious we were joking with the fee going up with every post, the fact that two of them off here didn't get it and just take every post as gospel is quite staggering.

We’ve never had money before so we’re not use to people mocking our high spending transfers. We’re much better at money shaming others.

The transition could take a while, in fact we’ll probably get poor again first.

Tbf it does piss people off when you tell them their new star signing is shit.

A mate of mine's an Exeter fan and reckons that James is massively underrated cos he keeps things simple and his play is very subtle. Said we should definitely sign him as he's a league 2 Sergio Busquets.

I presume you were joking about your first comment? Are people really that sensitive about such matters?

Here's some advice. Wait and see what XXX will be like after you have signed them. Of course feedback from fans of previous clubs may be useful, but don't take it to heart, you total lettuce.

Agree with the others, Milsom would be a good signing for Crawley. Good ball player and left-footed too so provides balance. Career bit stop and start at Notts due to injuries then struggling to get back in but there were times last season when he was fit but on the bench or not in the squad and I personally would have started him. Good addition if he stays fit. Classy midfielder on his day.

I didn't, it was FGRJC who bit. I was just speculating on why.

I'm not getting involved in this one, but I will say that lettuce is a good insult.

Meh, been around long enough to remember when virtually every player we signed was either shit or a crock according to fans of clubs we got them from. Either that or they didn't realise that the player had ever even played for them in the first place. Some of them turned out pretty well despite that.

Copy that. I remember when we signed Sam Parkin and we had endless reports from Northampton fans telling us how hopeless he was as he had scored 4 goals for them all season on loan.

He turned out to be a revelation and one of our best strikers in recent memory.

So the morale of the story is don’t listen to Northampton fans, as they talk cobblers.

Busquets? Your mate has a good sense of humour. I’d rather have a packet of biscuits in midfield than James.

We’ve signed Sam Russell. He’ll be half GK coach but also be registered as a keeper. That’s a pretty good reserve keeper I’d say!

Stephen Dawson linked with about 4 league 1 clubs and is available on a free transfer after our relegation. It would be a huge wage saved if we can get him gone.

Could have done with signing him years ago to stop him having absolute blinders against us!

Nearly always played well against us for Darlo and FGR among others, although I do remember him having a bit of a mare for Darlo once when we beat them 3-0 (I think) as I mentioned at the time how out of character it was for him.

We needed a reserve keeper and a new goalie coach, so this signing kills 2 birds with one stone and will be decent back up for McKeown if he's needed.

Yeah, I seem remember his performances dropped off a little bit at one point and it felt like the hoodoo had been laid to rest a bit. He pulled off a string of worldies in that infamous Rob Scott rant match.

On a side note, who remembers who played in goal for Darlo last time we played them?

That Darlington game was ridiculous, we should have scored about 10 goals and ended up losing I think it was 2-1.

Wasn't it a certain Mr Pickford. Kept a clean sheet too IIRC.

It was only 3 years ago that we played against Dele Alli and Harry Maguire in L1.

Harley has joined MK.

Been a great servant but at 33 his best years are behind him but can still do a job.

His goals such as the winner at Argyle a couple of years back and his screamer in the play offs will be fondly remembered. Hope he does well other than against us.

Suspect we will now make a couple more signings v soon.

Same... Dele Alli got Chris Lines sent off going down like a sack of shit when they rubbed heads squaring up.
