Nicky Hunt has been training and is now on trial with Crewe Alex...

Supposed to have done well in the pre-season game, and expected to play some part in tonight's game. See he played around 12-15 games for Notts last season, what are your thoughts on him?

Don't do it. Very good player in his day, that was years ago. There really is nothing left to squeeze out of him.

He's fine as a last minute back up but as stated previously, his day has gone unfortunately.

We currently have 5 trialists. We know one is Lee Shaw, who's supposed to be playing some part in tonight and Friday's games. One is apparently Ben Nugent, ex-Cardiff, who Wimbledon were seemingly expecting to sign last week but he went to Spain with us instead.

No idea on positions or anything for the other three.

We like playing against Pickford, in the two games he was opposition keeper, we scored 7 and conceded 0.
He had no chance when he was in goal for Darlington. It was at that time they were having serious money issues and were basically playing their U18 side.

Was ridiculous during that Alfreton game. How we only won that 2(?)-0, I don't know.

We’ve signed winger Jonny Smith on a season long loan from Bristol City. Scored 10 goals for Fylde last season. Seems like a decent addition.

We've signed left-back, Joshua Debayo - previously of Leicester and Southampton.

Doesn't appear to have played any first team games or been on loan anywhere, but has been with the squad since returning from the summer break so must have done something to impress Gary Johnson. Will probably be Chris Hussey's backup as well.

Always rated Ben Nugent, especially when he first signed for Crewe but we have a habit of coaching the defending right out of them so they do become Crewe defenders over time, same way Raynes is going now... Not great on the ball, you will find most of his long passes usually stray out for a throw but usually gets his head on the ball in both boxes, good player at this level.

Thanks, we think it was Nugent who played, made it difficult to recognise him because he looked a lot like Raggett. When there is A. trialist playing and there were at least 7 with no names it's a guess the player fest.

Former Morecambe and Rochdale LB Michael Rose is on trial with us.

Played CM for us for the last 2 years. First season he was brilliant and pretty much kept us up on his tod, scoring crucial goals when badly needed.

Last season was the polar opposite though, we were turd on the whole and so was he. Just aimlessly wacking it anywhere and getting skinned all the time. He had glimpses, but not enough to keep him.

Get him on the ball with space and in a mood where he's actually up for it, he'd be a great signing. If he can't be arsed, get him in the bin.

Amazed nobody has come in for our very own Tyrone Barnett and Joe Davis , both transfer listed and playing in youth team friendlies. Do a job somewhere surely, after all Sam Kelly has got fixed up :bl::bl:

Yep, but how does anyone know what wage he is likely to be on? Are you his agent?
If you’ve beaten a league one team to signing him it doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a football agent to work out you’re probably paying him quite well

No idea what Wimbledon pay for wages, even if they are a league above but I doubt it would be much more than many clubs could afford in this league. He also played for Crewe, Gillingham and Yeovil for his three previous clubs recently so unlikely to be anything ridiculous wage wise.

Tommo been told. Obviously not a very clued up bloke if he thinks Wimbledon pay any better than the bigger clubs in this league.

Ok, thanks. I'd like to say he would be a squad player but Full-Back on both sides is something we haven't addressed for 3/4 seasons now, always throw academy graduates in there, who to be fair have had success, particularly last season but are prone to mistakes e.g switching off and the way the manager has been talking all summer, we want at least 1 full back to come in to start so not holding any hopes we will get 40+ games out of Nickey Hunt.

Well Wimbledon have just announced Scott Wagstaff as a signing and apparently they offered nearly double the wages we offered him.
