7-day one, so they're either waiting on Vickers' scan results or it's not as bad as first feared.

I'm guessing the former because otherwise it'd be a bit pointless to bring in a 'keeper on loan for two or three games.

We're being linked with Courtney Baker-Richardson from Swansea on loan.

Not the experienced player we need, but he looks a big lad and the presence we've been missing.

We've signed Franklyn Akkamadu for the season from some Italian side. Started his career at Fiorentina apparently.

But would you recieve anything from Ipswich if West Ham were to sell him? That's the situation we're in, Middlesbrough still getting money for him even though he's now on his third club after leaving them.
Sorry, misread your question. Yes, I think we have had double sell-on clauses with players in the past, including Cresswell I believe.

Apparently Adam McGurk is coming in on trial tomorrow.

I've heard the name, but know nothing of him. Being released by Morecambe in the summer doesn't sound massively impressive though.

Will be better than anything you currently have. Tranmere fans may know more about him, but I remember him always been one of those you expected to kick on but just never happened.

Morecambe are a strange one, it seems anyone who doesn't fit in with the grand plan of nine men behind the ball, if anyone gets it try and kick it at Ellison's head, will struggle there. Adam Campbell so far looks like he shouldn't have been warming the bench of a team who only stayed up on goal difference, yet he was.

McGurk was a decent player for us in League One about five years ago. Technically very good and scored the occasional spectacular goal, but divided opinion as he did not like the physical side of the game.

i have no idea what he is like now, but he had several good seasons at Burton after leaving us.

McGurk did seem a bit brittle in his Rovers career, but not a bad player. Didn’t appear to do that badly at Morecambe, so as SC infers, maybe failing to comply with orders contributed to him being moved on.

We've loaned Haydn Hollis out to Chesterfield for the season. Didn't make the most of his chances and a bit too far down the pecking order to get many more.

I liked Hollis, did well last season, good in the air, always 100% committed and did well filling in at left back too. A top lad as well. Played his part in keeping us up last season, so hope he does well at Chesterfield.

Local journo has tweeted that we're signing Sam Jones from Shrewsbury on loan tomorrow. Thoughts Grimsby fans?

Looks like we're about to sell or loan our striker Osman Sow back to Hearts. He's been out injured for a while and is a bit of a liability fitness wise, but if he was fit and at 100% I have no doubt he would have smashed League Two. Shame he's going, but he is probably our highest earner by a mile...wouldn't be surprised if he was on 7k+ a week.

What this hopefully means is we free up a big wage and can make a move for a decent loan signing up front in the next few days........were linked with Danny Newton last week.

Quality, one of Slades many mistakes last season bombing him out, creative on the ball and a good finisher, I’d have him back here in a heartbeat.

Came to us clearly very unfit so never finished any games. He started alright but was a bit of a show pony. Once his tricks weren't coming off, he just didn't really do anything. He became quite lazy in the end so it was no surprise he left, wouldn't be shocked if it was to do with the system we played as already mentioned. Hopefully we've binned that awful system now after Tuesday, we've most certainly signed better players for us than McGurk.

As for Campbell, it never worked from the start. He was turd. His best games for us were against Bamber Bridge and Alfreton this pre-season.

Apparently we're about to sign Cardiff City's Rhys Healey on loan until January. Scored 6 in 8 games for Torquay on loan in 2nd half of last season.

Surprised Aspin hasn't gone in for him, would be ideal for our midfield problem and Aspo obviously has history with him.

Damn, I was still hoping we might get Jones back. Potentially a top player at this level. Definitely not a like for like Eisa replacement, more of an attacking mid but it sounds like you need more than just a striker coming in anyway. I think his best position would be behind a front two, he was shifted about and along various front lines/attacks a lot during his time with us so it's not easy to say for sure though.

He was at this level a couple of years ago with Newport. Seem to recall him being decent.

Healey is a good signing for MK. Nice of them to bring him in on the eve of our game

Rumours of Doughty to Hull/Brentford already. Christ, we’ve only had him for less than 2 months.

We signed trialist Jonny Margetts in the summer of 2016 after Scunny rejected the chance to take him on trial earlier in the summer.

He then scored 4 in 5 (all 4 against Southport), then Scunny paid £100k for him before August was out. He was only with us permanently for 5 weeks.

Only played twice for them in two years.

Omari Patrick, Bradford - Yeovil on loan according to the local press.
Young striker who looks like a competition winner allowed to play with professionals, surprised a league team is taking him on.

We've signed Chris Clements on a short-term deal.

Previously played for Grimsby, Mansfield and FGR - thoughts guys?

Got the talent but never had the consistency and lightweight too.

He’s alight - or at least he was for Mansfield a few years back.

Many expecting much transfer movement at their end before the loan window closes this week?

Doubt it for us but I think we are short in defence. We’ve 4 fit centre backs but play with 3 at the back and the 4th is an 18 year old and we’re playing Hamilton who’s a left sided midfielder at right wing back. I’d rather bring another centre back in and move White back to RWB.
