Although it feels like all our Christmases have come in a week, adding his return to the signing of McCoulsky, you have to feel a bit sorry for Christian. I would be a bit worried if I was a Bolton fan though, it seems like their club is in a bit of a hole at the moment.

Yeah would be a bit worried about his mindset. Thinks he's playing Championship football then he's back in League 2. No disrespect to FGR but he must be a bit fed up to say the least.

Would have thought you've got more than enough to cement a play off spot now though so maybe the prospect of League 1 next season will motivate him sufficiently.

Agree with the first bit, understandable to be hacked off having to return. It would seem like we (FGR) have been paying his wages while he was at Bolton.

People say stuff about our Chairman, I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he doesn't take any crap when it comes to our club or players...remember the Hummel fiasco about our kit, when we played you in the League Cup it was in the blue and white kit supplied by a sports shop in Stroud, he ripped up our contract with them and found a new supplier.

As for the second part...the play-off spot...I'm rubbish at predictions, but his return may strengthen our case!

Take it the rumours about Bolton coming in for Luke Hannant in January probably shouldn’t worry me too much then!

Can still see Doidge being sold in this window. The chairman will say that he's looking forward to having him back for the rest of the season, he's hardly going to say "We'll still be looking to flog him as soon as we can", but if they get a decent offer from another Championship or League One team that's trustworthy and he still wants to go, it's still a good idea to cash in. Unless he's happy to stay, fire FGR to a possible promotion and then move in the summer of course.

Any Championship/L1 team that can afford him should be moving in fast.

Blimey, basically like a fantastic new signing for FGR that. Puts the cat amongst the pigeons at the top.

Dilemma for Vince now, still try and cash in on him in the window, or keep him til the summer to give FGR a great shot at promotion but risking a serious injury etc. I know they have brought in other players since Doidge left, but I’d have thought Vince was wealthy enough to take the hit. Plus Doidge has hardly set the world alight at Bolton - might not be any takers just yet anyhow.

Can he play for another club this season? Isn't two the max?

Can be registered with 3, but only play for 2. So if someone signed him he couldn’t play til next season. Which wouldn’t make much sense. FGR now serious auto contenders I’d say.

Is he out of contract in the summer?

Good news for FGR to have him back, though. It was the only option available and at least they know they've got him for the remainder of the season.

Could he sign for someone but then be loaned back to FGR for the rest of the season? Could see someone like Wigan going for him.

Saying that, it might throw a spanner in the works for their January transfer window around his wages back on the payroll and FFP.

Feel sorry for that Doidge, I work with a Bolton fan and he wasn't impressed at all so this could have been his one and only shot at the Championship. Supposedly bought a house up here and everything.

Got to question anyone who can't get a game for that Bolton side.

We've been expecting interest for him considering he nearly signed for West Brom in the summer (failed a medical, not sure why). Our manager has said today that we need to sell a player to balance the books and he's the obvious one.

A very good full back with a lot of potential to play higher. All his goals have come from free kicks - he takes them like Cristiano Ronaldo with about the same level of success i.e. it took him about 40 to score one lol. Having much better luck this season though. I just hope we get a good price for him. He's our only proper right back though.

If it is James we're after then it seems we're reluctant to meet your asking price.

Seems it's either him, or Rob Hunt from Oldham we're chasing.

Played 17 times for them in the end, though expect most would be sub. Read plenty of comments appreciating him from Bolton fans too, was keeping an eye on how he was doing as always wished him well.

Good luck to Tyrone, just didn't work out with us, possibly due to playing with Pope maybe didn't suit his style but been professional throughout.

So far we've let:

Tyrone Barnett
Lewis Hardcastle
Idris Kanu
Brendan Daniels
Scott Quigley

Depart so plenty of space to fill.

Possibly sending Louis Dodds back to Chesterfield and may also lose Mitch Clarke if Villa recall him for their first team which would be all our loans gone back.

Olufela Olomola has left Yeovil after his loan wasn't extended. He's the 4th player to leave us this month after Wes McDonald, Enes Mahmoutovic and Omari Patrick.

Doing that is what got us in this mess from a Top half League 1 side to bottom if League 2 in less than a year.
I get what you're saying but I'd argue that it's not quite the same, as you allowed a foreign manager who had never managed in England to come in and sign a whole host of overseas players. Had Ribeiro managed any of those players before? Jolley has at least started building his own squad here already and has already managed Ludvig Ohman.

Bruno had managed a couple of them, namely Kiko and Paulo Tavares (Tavares should have been different class at L1 level) possibly Saleiro but he got homesick.

I'm not convinced Bruno actually signed most of them! Memories of Big Reg will stay with me though (even though somehow he's since banged in a hatrick in the Europa League) his sub appearances against Oxford and Oldham where he changed the game purely because he was so bad he didn't know what he was going to do next... but neither did the Oldham/Oxford back line!

Cheltenham linked as well

Odd as he was captain for the game Saturday against Cheltenham. Good player, passes the ball well but imho tries too many Hollywood balls. Plays the Pirlo role and about as mobile. Does have a habit of playing teammates into trouble on the edge of our box.

Having given all that criticism he is not one I'd be happy to lose. Played every (?) game since Cioffe came in so the manager rates him too.

Our foreign lads have really started to gel to be honest. Chris Missilou in particular has come on leaps and bounds since signing from French non-league in the summer. Was absolutely everywhere in midfield yesterday against Fulham.

Has just recently been his favourite time of the year, to be fair.

Sounds like we may indeed be in for Jim O’Brien from Bradford, our local paper guy said there’s no smoke without fire when asked about him this lunchtime. Bradford fans seem to rate him - hopefully just what we need, bit of a terrier-like presence in midfield.
