We almost signed him from yourselves last January only for wages I believe to be a stumbling block. I don't know why we were even in for him anyway. Two years ago when I lived down south, I watched him and his lack of legs cough up a derby victory for Swindon against Oxford by making two catastrophic errors which led to the ball going into the back of their net both times.

A proper luxury player and one I hope we don't pursue this window even if we do need a midfielder. Strikes me as the type that doesn't like a tackle whenever I've seen him play and we already have an abundance of midfielders like that.

We’ve extended the loan of CB Dara O’Shea (he’s Irish) from West Brom till the end of the season. Pretty pleased as he’s looked decent so far for a young lad.

Even more pleasingly, our latest academy star, Archie Collins has signed a long-term contract. Been massively impressed with him this season and will be a big part of our future.

I wouldn’t say we ‘want him back’, the only two reasons he’d return are if Jack Payne leaves and he’d fill a gap, the other being that we’re so short of replacements from the bench that we simply need the numbers. He wouldn’t get near the first 11 as things stand, there’s a reason we got rid of him back to L2 that being he wasn’t very good in the league above, whoever suggested we might take a £200k hit on him though must be having a laugh.

Ok well I’d suggest offering ‘£50k or about that’ would be a waste of everyone’s time, given the fact we overpaid so badly in the first place.

I don't think we'd offer something like that (we apparently have an option on him, which was set up when we initially signed him anyway), just making the point that we're probably not going to pay what you want given your £250k outlay on him.

Mickey Duff has confirmed this evening that Tyrone Barnett has signed on for the rest of the season.

Happy with that - he's done well for us since coming on loan from Vale.

I totally agree, but then he’s worth more to us as a squad player for the rest of his contract (another 18 months I think), than cutting our losses for a relatively small fee.

My Cambridge supporting father in law reckoned there is a rumour going around that they are in for Danny Hylton...which I found to be somewhat amusing!

Wouldnt surprise me if there was a grain of truth in it - i.e they are looking at bringing in a Luton player and someone has put 2 and together and made 15! Aaron Jarvis perhaps the more likely looking of our strikers they may want.

Maybe the club have caught wind of the “rumour” as they have posted some tweets this morning about Danny Hylton making a big career decision, only to show he has finally shaved his head after years of thin looking hair!!
