Really think Nadesan would fit into our style of play. Was a real handful on Saturday.

We were linked with him earlier in the window but seems to have gone quiet since.

Our experience with him is that you need to use him in a pacy forward line to get the best from him. No point in his pace if none of his team-mates can catch up; he ends up having to take the opportunity all by himself, try and hold on to the ball too long while waiting for attackers, or pass it back. This was often the case last season, and although his ability to finish has improved, he's still a wasted talent if the options to play someone else in aren't available for him.

This season we've had Jerry Yates alongside him, and that has really helped them both, nobody can run as fast as Nadesan but Yates can be there shortly after Nadesan. Similar with Hope, Devitt and Sowerby, and McCarron in future if we are able to get Nadesan back. None of them are slouches, and the way those other attacking players are set up in our squad, we're able to counter-attack in numbers.

Carlisle are loaning Connor Simpson from us.

Only 18 but done well at Hyde scoring a good amount, 6ft 5.

Very good move for him if he gets game time.

Joey Barton has now decided that Jack Sowerby (who up to this point he had been saying was likely to spend the rest of the season at Carlisle) will be recalled at the end of the month. Not good news; though since Barton has changed his mind a couple of times in the last few weeks it's no reason to lose hope. I don't know if Fleetwood are waiting in turn for news on players they have on loan but haven't heard any mention of it.

This loan uncertainty is affecting a lot of clubs this window, with many unlikely to know whether they'll be able to retain key players until just before the loan window closes (by which point the transfer window will already have closed).

Can't be good for the players either, many of whom have been getting regular football since August and are now in limbo for a month, unsure whether they'll spend the rest of the season warming the bench at their parent club, or playing regular football for either their parent club, their previous loan club or some new club. Many won't be used during that time as once their parent club brings them off the bench they become ineligible to feature for any other club the rest of the season.

Can't imagine this is the correct way forward if the future of the lower leagues is going to depend more and more on big teams loaning players down the pyramid. Seems we're heading for a situation for the next few seasons where January becomes a huge unknown while the best young players outside the Premiership are sat twiddling their thumbs.

Looks like we aren't likely to be able to do much business now, as without the Doidge money we'll be breaking the FFP rules. Not ideal given we've lost four loan players and have hardly any cover in midfield and none at full back, but we do have an awesome looking frontline with lots of options so hopefully we'll score enough and not get any injuries elsewhere.
Now Doidge is back does that mean the Danny Mayor transfer is off?

Barton is on about playing Naesdan (apologies for the spelling!) at the weekend.
Meaning no one else other you or Fleetwood can play him in their team.

Sam Slocombe has returned to Bristol Rovers after his loan spell with us ends.

Never played in the league, only Checkatrade (4) and Carabao (1).

Us and Swindon are after Burnley young full back Ali Koiki. Apparently some L1 clubs are sniffing around too.

Not really sure we need another left back but if he’s an upgrade on what we have then fair enough.

We had him on trial in the summer but nothing ever came of it - think it was down to Jolley’s connection with Burnley.

He’s made their bench in recent weeks but that may be more indicative of Burnley’s squad at the minute!

Ritchie Sutton has signed for Morecambe on an 18 month deal. Sad to see him go as he was a major part of the team that got us promoted. That tackle at Wembley will never be forgotten.

We do need better though if we're looking to challenge for promotion in this division.

Part of our conference title winning team, one of those that gave it absolutely everything. Fair play to him for still being in the FL.

It seems Mark O"Hara is the player linked from Posh.

Brad Walker set to sign with Shrewsbury is seems. Odd one. On the one hand, we signed him, he barely played and didn't look very good when he did. But we almost never gave him a run in midfield, which is where he was signed to play and where he got spotted whilst at Hartlepool. Plus, it's where Wrexham got some success out of him.

But, he's being signed by Ricketts clearly because he rates Walker, but basing it solely off his form in the conference. They're signing him and expecting him to do a job in L1? Hmm, not sure about that. But, if he does do well, then serious questions have to be asked about our current management team.

Signed for Shrewsbury and loaned straight back to Wrexham as he’s already played for two clubs this season. Still slightly odd from Shrewsbury who didn’t get the memo that it’s unlikely there’d be much of a queue to sign him in the summer but if it gets him off our books early so be it.

Sounds like Raynes will be next to be shipped out with one coming in before Saturday.

Big chance for Artell to sort the defence out (won’t hold my breath).

Eh? The defence, despite missing Ray, Nolan and Pickering for spells, plus having the iffy form of O'Connor and up and down spells of Whelan, is the 14th best in the league. Ok, nothing to shout about, but I wouldn't say the issue has been defence at all this season. More the ineptitude at the other end in not taking chances, or not creating enough chances, thereby putting lots of pressure on the defence.

They'll have a mostly new look defence come the summer regardless. Like you said, Raynes is on his way out in the next few weeks. I doubt Ray will stick around and Nolan, if he can prove his fitness, might get decent offers from other clubs come the summer. So as it stands, we only have Pickering, Ng and the U23s under contract back there. Lots of work to do.

Think Sutton’s all round game is better than Mark Ellis’s myself, so shame to see him go.

Good signing for us by the sounds of it then. Probably the experience we need to partner Lavelle and so we can bin Old to the bench.

Still waiting on Dagnall to sign apparently, which was made to sound like it was going to be confirmed a couple of days ago. Wouldn't be surprised if he also went to Wrexham like everyone else.

Well if Morecambe’s defensive displays against us this season are anything to go by he will be an improvement on what you’ve already got.

Should be alright then, have a decent history with players who were at Hartlepool at one time in their careers.

A 6ft 5 lanky centre forward isn’t exactly what we need to replace what we’ve lost if we’re wanting to continue playing in the style we’ve been recently

I see forest are said to be recalling Jorge Grant from Luton and sending him out on loan again. Will probably go back to L1 but would be a great signing for any of the frontrunners in this division.

I am sad to see him go, but I think Ellis is more mobile which is why he has been preferred. A good, solid signing for Morecambe.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we went for him.
If your entire squad had a virus when he arrived with you he wouldn't catch it!
Even in the warm ups he didn’t fill me with confidence, he was fumbling in tame shots in that before the Port Vale game.
Perhaps just low confidence and in of a run of games dunno.
I know you guys need a back up keeper
