Rose is an okay lower/mid table midfielder in this league. Monster pen taker and a decently long throw, can play in the middle with either a defensive role or a bit of freedom to get forward, but is very unlikely to do both. Don't expect a box to boxer. Prone to a mistake and a bad tackle.

Not a bad signing for County at that end of the table but once (if) you start looking up, you're better off looking elsewhere. It's funny really as I said right after our MK game that Woolford did a much better job in central midfield than Rose and I'd be surprised if we weren't looking to replace him, just didn't think it would be this soon.

All set for Thomas to come in and set the league alight having been shite (I'm guessing..?) for County, doesn't look too bad a signing on paper. Defender Grant signs til the end of the season from Plymouth too. Looks like O'Hare to come in, would love Yates back after that, and that'll be a very useful January all things considered.

Thought we were getting a really good player in Thomas, but he’s been uniquely rubbish. He reminds me of one of those hard lads at school who think they’re really good so they take all the free kicks and corners but they’re shit and no one has the bottle to tell them.

Rose, meh, we need play off form can’t see him contributing to that in a big way. He possesses legs though so he’s got to better than Milsom.

Signed Ryan Sweeney on a perm contract, free transfer, it doesn’t say on the official website if Stoke stuck a sell-on but it’s likely to be the case.

Absolutely brilliant signing though was expecting when we signed the fleet wood lad on loan last night.

Quality signing there, happy with that

I think Rose will be a decent signing for Notts in the short term. Capable of really good energetic performances, but will have the occasional stinker too. Surprised we let him go as despite not being among our best CMs he has been involved a lot. Hopefully Jolley is freeing up some wage budget, I think that is 7 out and 3 in now for this window?

Sweeney's been great on the left side of the back three. Yet to prove himself in a back four, not sure if mature enough yet. Very few tricks, not a huge range of passing but strong and doesn't give the ball away despited limited technical ability. Has been a good loan signing so glad that we've made it permanent.

We’ve had to go two players overboard this month due to injuries and that’s also forced us to sign Sweeney early due to getting in another loan player to replace White.

We’ve only got rid of OSJ so far and we are definitely desperate to shift one or two more that are surplus to requirements, Anderson, hopefully Butcher too. Be surprised to shift any now because they are raking it in doing duck all.

Exactly, much easier for the Cowley's and Flitcroft's of this world than the Way's and Duff's.

True. But we all know who has the biggest budget this season and are last, so it’s not a given!

Someone who correctly called the signing of Jonathan Forte, is now saying we’re very close on a midfielder and also in pole position to sign another player being courted by many other clubs.

The midfielder could well be Willem Tomlinson from Blackburn who we’ve been linked with all window.

Sam Surridge also rumoured as the other player. I’d be very impressed if we got him and he is indeed interesting a lot of clubs but still highly doubtful. If it did happen then he’s as close to a Stockley replacement that we could get.

Going to be an interesting couple of days by the look of it.

Some fucker on Twitter reckons were getting Ellis Harrison on loan from Ipswich, and as it’s Twitter I’ll take it that it’s definitely happening.

We’ve also signed Mitch Rose from Grimsby. Has to be an improvement on the basis that he’s played some games this season for a team in this league which isn’t us.
Can you please use his correct name, it’s Mitch Rose (pen). ;)

Grant is actually a permanent signing.

So we now have six loanees, Fryer, Thomas, Slater, Simpson, O'Hare and Cullen and will definitely bring Yates back if and when Rotherham allow him. However Fryer is unlikely to feature again for us this season owing to his injury.

I think Thomas is likely to miss out if Yates does return, not entirely sure why we've signed him.

Nope. A CB - a magnificent 100%, no nonsense, head it, kick it, work me balls off every game player

This in a nutshell. Not particularly quick or slow but is a lion of a lower league defender. I still hope we might be able to sign him on a permanent at the end of the season.

From what I’ve heard, Swindon made a decent offer for him but we quibbled over a few pennies. Poor form from the club, IMO. I hope we don’t fuck him about like we did Marquis. He deserved better and so does Sid.

Looks as though Callum Butcher is off to Dundee United. Hopefully permanent, Worst signing Evans made. Be great to get him off the wage bill.

Absolutely no chance. So confident that won't happen that I'm going on record to say that I'll have a pro-Lincoln signature for the rest of the season if it does.

Looks like we have signed Craig Mackail-Smith, which I don’t know what to think about seeing as he’s similar to our other strikers and we could have done with a target man who holds the ball up.

Does for me, right kind of character and still capable of doing a job.

Chatter that Michael Doyle is signing tomorrow. Hardy is certainly giving this a final go.

Doyle would be a fantastic signing. Saw his name linked and thought ‘no chance’, but you think he could be joining Jacob?

There’s something in it, that’s as much as I know. Will be a hard sell but you never know.
