We've finally signed striker Matty Stevens from Posh, didn't play much for them but did score a lot on loan at Kettering and Slough.

I would be surprised if our chairman isn't still kicking himself that he turned down a £250k bid from Swansea for him back in 2015.

He's a lethal finisher, but don't expect much else. Very much a poacher who plays off the shoulder.

We probably won’t get this one as it’s up to David Holdsworth to close the deal and he’s proven beyond doubt that in the real world (not in his cuckoo world) he’s pretty shit when it comes to getting deals over the line. But if we do get him I Hope he’s got a bit of physicality because with Etuhu out till November/December our midfield is weak as piss.

Sounds like it's going to be a busy week for us. Calderwood wants to sign Jonathan Obika, Andrew Dallas, Wes Hoolahan, George Maris, and is keen on Samir Carruthers, and Elliott Ward as well.

It would bulk up the squad which is needed. Not sure any of them would replace the pace we lost by losing Amoo though.

EDIT: Rumour has it it's Abo Eisa (brother of former player Mo Eisa now at Peterborough), I can only imagine it's on loan.

Get him fully fit and you’ve a decent player, he struggled with us at the start but became key once he hit full fitness.

Yeah that's the thing with loanees. They're nearly always 18 year olds who have never played senior football. About half the time they turn out alright but not what you want to be pinning your hopes on
