Rumours picking up pace that we’re signing Luke Waterfall of Shrewsbury. Not sure how we would seeing as he has 2 years left on his contract, unless it’s a loan. Would be a solid signing at this level I think but he probably isn’t as good without Danny and Nicky cheering him on.
Hopefully your fans are prepared to give him some TLC .
If not don't go chasing waterfall

What’s Jacob Maddox like Cheltenham fans? We’re signing him next week apparently?
Technically very good, good on the ball, lacks strength and cant tackle end product was lacking and should have scored a lot more than he did. Goes missing for periods and form drops when things get tough

Confirmed. Can't say I've ever heard of him but Arsenal must have seen some promise at one point.

He is ridiculously overrated. He worked with a couple of my mates at Bentley Motors, and they played together, and he was't even the best at the workplace. Everyone was stunned when he went down to Arsenal. Bit of an arrogant arse as well, by all accounts. He does have raw pace, so may do okay, but he's not this wonderkid some were making out. How long is the deal for, out of interest?

Alex Hurst signed now on a 2 year deal from Bradford PA, had him on trial and looked a decent prospect. Immediately loaned out to Bradford PA until January to continue his development with a view to getting here in January to fight for a spot.

Another little bit of business for us.

midfielder Mohammed Ali Sagaf signs from Braintree following a trial period.

Looked decent against Tranmere, the only home friendly he featured in, small but feisty. Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee.

One year deal

He was one of the Brains better players last season, scored a few free kicks as well.

One of only 3 players that they didn't bin off at any point during the season.

Is that 5 signings in a week from Carlisle?

Crazy times. A week ago we only had about 5 players.

It looks like we are signing 22 year old Sidy Sanokho on a short term deal after he impressed in pre-season trials. Looks like a DM/Box to Box midfielder with an eye for a pass.

Love these kind of signings!

Also looks like Danny Hylton is more than likely. All depends on Luton getting a striker in.

Can't get my head around the idea that Hylton would come here over a League 1 club. I'm sure there'd be some takers. Hopefully I'm wrong. Would be an amazing last piece in the jigsaw.

Danny Hylton deserves to be in jail with Carver.

I don’t know why, he just does.

We've signed Marc Richards on a deal until January. Swindon fans, only 5 goals last season. I assume his legs have gone at 37?

Totally. Last season he was more or less a waste of space for us. Might be handy for 25 minutes at the end. At least its only a short term deal for you.

A pale imitation of the player the previous season. Cobblers fans were saying his legs had gone before we signed him.

I think they definitely have now. If you can afford to have him just skulking about without having to run much he’d still bag a few. He’s not going to be making runs behind CBs chasing passes.

I think we've signed him as cover for Jabo, who is now 36. We've got five strikers now so the younger ones will be partnered with either Jabo or Richards and will do their leg work for them.

Short term deal so not a huge risk if it doesn't work out. Did you play him up front on his own?

Hmm, I'm not liking the replies from the Swindon fans.

Can you say something nice about him? Dunno, something about his tats or haircut perhaps?

He’s a good guy. He’s scored more goals in L2 than anybody. He’ll get a good reception from us.

Tbh, what can you expect from a 37 year old?

SVH, you must be wrong. We, Cambridge United, have now got 5 strikers? That can't be right we don't sign strikers, apart from Barry Corr.

He’s always been good at taking free kicks, would imagine he still has that and is not the worst in the air either if that’s of any help.

In all seriousness I'm fine with this. Short deal, gives cover to Jabo, adds a lot of experience to a group of forwards who are mostly young, Calderwood knows him.

Also Samir Carruthers is still with us so we still have some money left over.
