Jackson Longridge has signed on loan for Torquay United.

He was brought in as our number one LB, but has been pushed out by the ever-present Connor Wood.

Longridge was rumoured to be homesick, following his arrival from Dunfermline in the summer. If that’s true, his move 300 miles further South is a strange one indeed.
Similar to when Mark Marshall left ourselves, wanted to move nearer London.
Joined yourselves. Don't think geography was high up on footballers specialist subjects

That was because he couldn't get a club closer to London, so rang up begging Smurf to come back but we'd already moved on by that point.

Didn't Grant leave Crewe saying he wanted to be closer to home though?

Michael Appleton has confirmed Bruno Andrade is set to join Salford having been offered a deal that we couldn't match.

How depressing. He should be going up the leagues, not down.

Yes it is depressing when the likes of Salford can just wave a huge wad of cash at a player and sign anyone. Can’t wait for the pic of Bruno with the Salford scarf above his head claiming what a great club they are with huge fanbase and what a good career move it is for him :£.

Their fanbase went missing on Saturday, only 1900 home fans turned up. Was it because ManUre were also at home at the same time or no one wanted to come and see The Cobblers? :dk:

They seem to be flogging a few players? Money dried up?

GC probably needs to shift a few before getting in his own players. Not many of them represent decent value atm.

What kind of fee will Lincoln get for Andrade?

Football's a short career etc. But bonkers that he didn't wait until the summer when he's on a free and try for a top L1/Championship club.

Partially correct. To my outrage Grant was binned off and not offered a new contract as he was considered not "value for money" by the master of judging talent that was Dull Davis. We replaced him with a powderpuff kid, sicknote Bingham and the useless David Fox. No surprise we went down as a result.

Grant did want to go down South originally though. Believe Orient offered him a deal but he didn't want to drop to League Two so he signed with you lot instead.

Especially as he nearly signed for a Club in that category in the summer, hence Cowley wrapping him up in cotton wool to try and raise funds.

It's down as undisclosed, but £200k-£250k seem to be the whispers.

Then maybe we will be able to offload some of the players he played but are simply not good enough for the Third div.

No It’s to make way for his own squad.

There’s too many at the club (Rose included IMO) that have been here too long, some are just here without a care, although to be fair Rose is commited and scored quite a few goals early in the season but I still think it’s time.

He will become a fan favourite wherever he goes, always gives 100%.

I read that Blackpool are as well but the beauty of Sunderland being in League 1 is that they are highly unlikely to loan him to a rival in the same league, can't imagine any club doing that!
I’d imagine Sunderland want to recoup some of the £4m they spent on Grigg.

A loan to us, using Doyle as an example, could see him banging them in. More so than Salford probably. Get more for him in the summer.

Any fee we may have offered for Doyle can then be used as his signing on fee when he’s free in the summer!

The rumours of the Mansfield clear out are rapidly heating up, a lot of players, including players that have been one of the best in their position at this level over the previous 2/3 seasons are likely to leave.

Benning one of those according to Stagsnet if anyone's interested.

Rebuilding mid season isn't easy or cheap. Mansfield won't go up or down so could it be argued it might be sensible to wait for the summer and let the players who aren't taking the piss/bad for team spirit play for contracts until then?

Signed our former captain George Ray back on loan for the season from Tranmere.

Pretty happy with that, we've got no fit centre backs and even when they are a fit he's probably better than them all bar Nolan. I understand he's struggled at Tranmere abit. But atleast he knows the club and players and to be fair under Artell he had been improving for the last two years.

I've been had by a fake Twitter account. I won't be shocked if he does sign this week though.

Askey picked up on this point when discussing the money we've made from Man City... one argument was that players are usually cheaper and you get better value for money if you wait until the summer so would only spent it now if we got decent value on right player.

We’ve signed Rarmani Edmonds-Green from Huddersfield.

CB, apparently.

Don't quite get this splashing of cash in January by The class of 92.
That is Elliott and Andrade through the door, to do what exactly, finish 13th maybe ?

January window is always a weird one and clubs sometimes make crap signings, we have been the masters at it for a few seasons.

I could understand those signings in May but then again money talks. Says a lot about the players i feel that cash is king.

Towell, Andrade, Rooney all milking the cash cow.

If they sign Grigg, Occy, Pearce etc then they could get a run at the play offs possibly?

Elliott is an odd one as he hasn't done much since Wimbledon, I was surprised they had a fairly quiet summer when everyone was expecting a Championship level squad to be built, maybe they under estimated the division?

Cant wait to see them in the Championship with 3000 fans (2000 when United are at home) and an hour queue to use the portaloo in the away end every half time.
