Ahem Doyle? [cough]

Rumour on our forum that you had tabled a £130k bid......
Your local journo reckons we’ve not bid at all,

Tbh, I can’t be arsed with it any more. We need a replacement pronto and hope Doyle does fuck all for you. Bowyer sounded a bit irritated when your journo asked him about Doyle and formations.

No, that was his normal voice.

Really rated highly , definately has the potential to play at a higher level
Been absolutely fantastic.
Not wishing to repeat what has already been said, he can also take a mean penalty if needed. Good signing for you, the first of several key players departing for us I fear.

Cheer's all. Sounds like a decent replacement for Flinders then.

I see at least one Macc fan on Twitter is kicking off because we've taken advantage of your situation. Can't say I don't have any sympathy - it's not the first time we've done it either, having raped Hereford in 1998 when they were struggling financially and taking Neil Grayson, Dave Norton and John Brough from them for peanuts.

Gethin Jones staying at Carlisle till the end of the season. He’s been average, but average performers in a team of absolute shit stand out. Good decision I’d say as I doubt we’d get better quality willing to jump on this sinking ship.

I dont see how it's you that's taken advantage here. Most likely we haven't been paying Wigan for loan costs and they're well within their rights to recall him and send him out again to someone who will pay them. Best of luck to you and him.

Oh and I know Flinders has been a different keeper for you than he was for us, but Evans is 10 times the better player for me.

Kyle Wootton away to Notts County on a permanent deal. Sad day.
We got £60,000 for him apparently.

Have to say I’m pretty surprised a team bobbing around League Two mid-table doesn’t have a use for him.

We've loaned Dale Gorman to Newport for the rest of the season.

He has ability

Indeed. The ability to punt free kicks into the wall. The ability to send corners off for a throw-in. The ability to never be in the right place at the right time. The ability to have an inability to tackle. All ability that lad.

Should have punted him off in the summer to somewhere more befitting of his talents. Wealdstone, maybe. Baffled as to why Newport would want him.

Ryan Hardie. Meh. Hopefully he’s Billy Clarke’s replacement!
Given Lowes comments yesterday about not being able to afford Pitman, isn't it fair to say all he has in the budget is loans and bargain bucket stuff like Clarke. Getting a proven player in looks unlikely doesn't it?

Sounds like it. He is also encouraging Tafari Moore to take a deal.

*hopefully* last word on the Doyle affair, triggered off the back of him winning the player of the month for the third month in a row.

I don't think even the most red-tinted spectacled Swindon fan can deny that the Doyle loan, whilst initially seen as odd that Bradford loaned him out to a fellow league 2 side has worked out very well for both clubs. For us, we got 23 goals and a player who helped us to the top of the league at Christmas. For Bradford, they now have an in-form striker at the top of his game full of confidence who potentially is now playing for a new contract based on his form this season. Circle back to when he was loaned out, he was probably seen as someone surplus to requirements. If he can continue even half of his goal scoring rate Bradford, he'll take them up. Of course its not that straightforward but I'll be watching with interest at how Bradford get on with him in the side.

Clearly we are the losers here and have a Doyle sized hole to fill. In the 4 games that Doyle hasn't played we have picked up 7 points so its not like we can't win games without him. At the moment Yates is probably the man to step into his shadow and he has 11 goals so its not like we are putting any old huddy up front. We are in the market for a striker, Pitman is on the radar and he would surely know where the net is at this level. The next few weeks are crucial for us, I know 'loz' doesn't like me mentioning it but we have a long injury list currently and we have Crewe, Newport, Vale, Colchester and Exeter to play in the next 5 games. Teams who will fancy their chances of finishing in the top 7 this season.

We'll probably end up signing Rakish Bingham 5 minutes before the window shuts in a blind panic!!

Not a chance... signing for the title-favourites just isn't Rakish's style. He much prefers to challenge himself by joining an unfancied team and carrying them up the table. Then as with Cheltenham, he leaves them much improved for the time he spent with them but in need of another challenge.

Liverpool and Man City have been vying with each other and offering bigger and bigger salaries to him for a couple of years now, but each time he's knocked them back. He said himself, it would be easy to join a team like Liverpool, Swindon or Barrow, destined for greatness whether he joins them or not and he doesn't need the money as he's happy living a humble existence in his terraced house in Hartlepool. What excites him is the prospect of joining someone like Chorley, Macclesfield or Arsenal where he can shine and also lift the players around him.

Forest reject second bid for Jake Taylor as they now want to extend his contract but we are hopefully extending the loan... injured though for three weeks which is a blow.

And confirmed apparently. How has he been with you guys?

We are being strongly linked with Tom Nichols as well - this sounds very positive judging on the little I've read on him.
Best keeper we’ve ever had. Way too good for this level. Expect him to be playing much higher next season.

Not really surprising we can’t come to an agreement with Forest over Taylor permanently. End of the day he’s scored 7 goals from midfield so it just makes sense they would rather hold on to him at this point. If can sort a loan for the rest of the season then that would be great.

Guess in the meantime just means all eyes now on when we get Manny Oyeleke back playing.

Not heard how far away he is, they said January a couple of months back.

No idea whats going on with Crookes either? That was a minor injury three months ago!

If you sign Pitman, the goals will carry on coming. Grant is an interesting one. When he was young at Southend, it was clear he had talent, Since, he has had more clubs than Tiger Woods and after the Shrews debacle was lucky to get a club like Swindon. I'm sure that Wellens must have laid everything on the line and perhaps he himself has now considered the difference between the career he should have had and the one he has actually had. If so and he takes serious notice, it could turn out a winner for both club and player.

I can only judge Grant on the games i have seen him and the 20 or so he has played for us and he's been top class, an absolute colossus in midfield, refreshing given some of the crap that has been pulling on the Swindon shirt over the last few years.

That said, I am aware of his history and hope that what you say about Wellens is correct. I personally think that he is playing a league below where he should be. Hopefully we'll put that right.

Hurst has said we probably won't be signing anyone in January and will be looking more at outs then ins, how fun.

Jackson Longridge has signed on loan for Torquay United.

He was brought in as our number one LB, but has been pushed out by the ever-present Connor Wood.

Longridge was rumoured to be homesick, following his arrival from Dunfermline in the summer. If that’s true, his move 300 miles further South is a strange one indeed.

Who are the teams you have played without Doyle as i presume 2 of them were against us where you only picked up a point.
You guys seem absolutely ruthless against the bottom half of the league but really struggle against the top 10 sides.

One thing is for certain, both your fanbase & ours are going to looking at each others results very keenly!

Carlisle have signed centre back Max Hunt from Derby for an undisclosed fee on an 18 month deal.

Been on loan at aldershot. Hopefully he can step up to League 2.

The area promotes itself as the Torbay Riveria. Maybe he thought he was going to South of France?

This is good news. Gives Lowe a bit of a headache where/if he plays Bakinson and Grant in the same team, as I think there best position is the holding midfield.

Slightly annoying as we are desperately in need of a left back on loan, though maybe this means he isn't the quality we need. Still, the chipnickers are filling their defence with league two also rans!
