Danny Green to Luton? Was mentioned during John Still's radio interview last night, but I'm not sure how credible it is.

Signed a 2-year deal with MK Dons last summer, but only made 4 league starts last season and a further 10 from the bench.
Quite unbelievable how his career has stalled since leaving us. Was by far one of the best wingers I've seen in League 2 and was wanted by a lot of teams. I really thought he'd make it at Charlton.

We have signed Jason Bantom from Plymouth on a 1 year deal and Danny Rowe who had a couple of loan spells last season from Rotherham on a 3 year deal :eyes: How the fuck can we afford a 3 year deal to anyone with our finances? Still things are looking good for next season we just need an attacking midfielder who will probably come in on loan, Yennaris from Brentford again would be perfect.

Wycombe have signed Jason Banton.

indeed. Argyle fans said he was a big-game Charlie bell-end, but then they said not much better about fellow PAFC reject Paris Cowan-Hall and he turned out all right for us. In fact they thought Paul Hayes was shit too and he turned out fine. So perhaps we just need Argyle fans to tell us that our new player is shit and they'll do all right.

I'm still surprised that the odds on Luton winning the league are still 16/1 - only 4th favourites. Surprised considering with the calibre of player we've signed so far complimenting a very decent season last year.

You'll be up there, McQuoid is a very good signing. The sort of player we needed TBH.

A few stories have been sent to the press today regarding four of our big earners on long term deals who we signed last summer. It looks like the club want shot of them ASAP and clubs are interested in taking them:

http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/06/3...eady-to-pounce-as-orient-plan-clear-out-of-s/

Darius Henderson - £10k per week, £3k goal bounus - 2 years left on current deal.
Easily the highest paid player at this level right now. However he has been awful value for money since he arrived - missed 5 months of last season through injury when we really needed him. I'd happily keep him as he is still a decent player and will cause teams problems, but not for the amount of money we are paying him!! He is 34 in September and injury prone. Don't mind him as a player, but would happily see the back of him as he has been awful value for money.

Jobi McAnuff - £7k per week - 1 year left on current deal.
Another one who has been awful value for money to be honest. When we had the period last year when we had no proper manager he was seen as very lazy and alot of our fans got on his back - Rightly so as well. I don't mind him, he showed glimpses of his quality here and there, but it wasn't good value for money for the amount we've been paying him. Happy to see the back of him, also 33 next year.

Shane Lowry - £4k per week - 2 years left on current deal.
A left footed centre back who gets shoved at left back. For me again, he hasn't been good enough for the money he has been paid. He did get better after a slow start though, but he was another who kept having a stop, start campaign due to his injuries. I'd happily keep him as he has been OK overall, but if he does go I wouldn't be too down.

Jay Simpson - £5k per week - 2 years left on current deal.
Very very frustrating season for him last year. He started off very very slowly after coming back from Thailand, but once he got going he caused teams in League One an awful lot of problems. Then he got injured again and missed 5 months of the season - Then Fabio Liverani for some reason didn't ever start him, even though most of the players kept saying he was by one of our best players in training and when given a run in the team. I hope we keep him because if he stays fit he can be one of the best strikers at this level IMO.

Not specifically transfer related, but our former dodgy director Chris Samuelson is linked with a move to purchase Bristol Rovers.

For £180,000 aswell, quality business by Luton for a player who really is nothing above your average league 2 striker
We got more off Blackpool this summer for Brad Potts.

Cullen was Luton's top scorer last season wasn't he?

Because - And whisper it quietly so Sky don't hear - you're not the tiny little club that everyone said last year.

Top scorer - but nothing to shout home about with just 14 goals. Cost us nothing, didn't really want to be here and his agent making him available against the club's wishes could've been seen as a watershed moment in our season last year. The article states he wanted to move back up North to be closer to his home.

£180,000 with a sell on clause up to double the original fee. - yes please. Good deal Luton.

He was our top scorer but I personally did not rate him very highly and he simply was not a player who fit how we played last year which in general was 4231.

He is a very limited player in terms of how you can use him, if you play anything other than 2 up front you aren't going to see his best, he's a poacher and that's it. His general play is very poor which made the times when we played him out wide incredibly frustrating.

I can't say I was ever sold on him, even from his first season where others seemed much higher on him, but he tries hard so you can't knock him too much, delighted we've got money for him as I think League 2 is his level. I think of you built a side completely around him you might get something there but I don't think he is a decent enough player to do that, especially at league one level.

We do now very much need some forwards now though so will be interesting what further signings are made in that area, despite some solid signings I'm still concerned we haven't truly addressed our biggest issues from last season.

Happy with the signing of McQueen, we needed a couple more defenders in especially if we're gonna continue with 3 CB's. Sounds promising.

Not too thrilled with Balanta, though he's probably worth the risk on such a short contract. Doubt he'll be a first team player.

I like the look of our team so far, though I still think we need to get rid of some players.

That is some top business by Luton.

As much as I hate to say it, I'll be shocked if they don't get autos.

Tenuous bullshit from the papers I believe - club quashed any rumours this afternoon. No official approach for now anyway, and not even certain there ever will be an approach.

Lines has signed! Without a doubt in the top 3 midfielders in the league!

Over the moon
29 year old released by a League 1 team and playing in the Conference last year, somehow don't think he's close to the top 3 in the league unless you've forgotten you've been promoted...

Good business as long as we replace him to be honest. He can score goals but he's so limited in every conceivable way. Barmy that a club with Blackpool's issues would be willing to spend that kind of cash on him.

I can't see Balanta doing much judging by what others have said about him, squad player on a low wage is all he'll be I think. McQueen is an interesting one because barely anyone has heard of him or knows anything about him. Seen a couple of Spurs fans say he was unlucky to be released and wasn't given a chance so maybe he'll turn out to be a cracking signing.

Wycombe have signed Jason Banton.

Was meant to be coming on trial with us tomorrow, so obviously didn't get many offers. Kinda funny they've given him a one year deal and Garry Thompson a 2 year deal though.

Craig Mackail-Smith reportedly going to Portugal tomorrow with the rest of the squad, according to someone who mentioned last night that Blackpool were after Cullen. I suppose the money for Cullen pays for another £3,500pw wages (not that I'd particularly want it used on one player).

Apparently another signing tomorrow too for us.

To be honest I don't think any sell on % or add ons are going to mean that much with Cullen, I don't think he'll make the step up to be sold or hit any performance based add ons.

He is a good player. I think he'll be a quality midfielder at this level and will be one of the top midfielders. Not sure about top 3 but definitely up there.

Agreed with that, completely different game to the Gray one when you always felt a sell on clause would come in handy sooner or later.

Even without any of the add-ons though, the Cullen fee has just covered every penny we paid for McGeehan with a little bit of change. Which means since this time last year we have made about £500k profit on transfer fees. Not bad, and should mean we can offer some handsome wages for this level over the next couple of years.

Seriously Ken pal, give it a fucking rest. I know this is the rumour thread but you've got to learn to fucking filter them a bit.

2 wingers signing tomorrow - Julian Jenner (not Kendall unfortunately) and....another, I think i know who it is.

We got 300k plus from Blackpool last week for Brad Potts. When you consider how shit the team was that Potts was part of last season, I think Luton could have held out for more for a forward who'd scored 14. Whether you rate him or not, Blackpool obviously do.

I seriously hope there is nothing in the talk of Chris Samuelson being involved in a takeover bid. After hearing from Reading fans what happened with you, we're better off well clear.

The club have issued a statement to deny we are close to being taken over, but reading between the lines it seems as though there may be a couple of things in the pipeline. A takeover wouldn't be agreed, or announced, before the court verdict over our new stadium has been announced, for obvious reasons, but I do think things are being discussed behind the scenes.

I think the fact that every single Luton fan on the internet tonight is happy with the business tells you all you need to know, he's just not worth that kind of money. His all round play is nowhere near good enough and he's not good enough as a pure goal poacher to cover his glaring deficiencies.

Fun fact: 10 of Mark Cullen's 13 league goals came against teams who finished in the bottom 10. He only scored 5 goals after mid-October 2014.
