Striker set to sign for Vale tomorrow, been heavily linked with Devante Rodney from Salford so may be him.
If its him then I hope we bring in another striker aswell that's more experienced and has abit of a record of scoring goals in the football league. Hopefully this is the 4th choice striker so basically replacing archer who was injured or loaned out for half the season.

Blackpool and Plymouth have both offered deals to our captain Joe Mills.

Been absolute quality for us and despite being a left back was our top scorer last season.

One of the best players I saw against us last season. Is he out of contract at Forest Green?

Youngish and pacey but assume we will want one more with just Tom and Cullen to add competition.

Yeah he's out of contract. One of our top performers for the last 2 seasons, imo one of the best left wing backs at this level.

According to one of those twitter accounts that are usually 90% bullshit, we’ve offered Ian Henderson a contract.

We've signed Jack Evans, 19 year old left back released by Blackburn. Has never made a senior appearance for them but should fit in well given most of our squad are a similar age.

Devante Rodney signs for Vale on a 3 year deal. Don’t know much about him but gives another option up front at least. Chance for him to become the long term first choice striker as well with Pope now towards the end of his career and Cullen only signed for another year.

3 years is unusual, cant think the last time we did that!

Obviously see's potential, he is young so see how he turns out. Don't know much about him but seems to have done ok on loan the league below.

Looks like Billy Clarke is returning to the club - his 3rd spell.

Obviously, our fans are all up in arms about it.

Splashing the cash again, we couldn't afford to keep him. Definitely wanted to keep him though.

I’d have said he was a cheap option, but what do we know.

Simon Parker (journalist who covers us) playing down the Billy Clarke rumour to an extent (at least for now), that he’s not one of our imminent signings but we are ‘favourites’. No room for sentimental signings given the wage cap, his loyalty and commitment would be second to none but there are too many better players out there.

My favourite memory of Devante Rodney was when he scored against us for Halifax to put them 2-0 up, it was right on half time and he took ages celebrating his goal and getting back into his own half.

The ref added on the extra minute he took and we scored with the last kick of the half and we went on to draw 2-2, if he'd just got on with it and not fucked about his team would've probably won the game.

Loves a free-kick!

Signed for £200k on decent wages - ‘bit of a waste, but I’m sure he’ll be one of those players who will go on to have a blinder next season.

Suggestion on our forum that we have been linked with Paul Anderson, a midfielder, who left Northampton at the end of his contract. Apparently this information was found somewhere on Twitter, so probably a load of guff, but the club has promised us two signings in two days...the first, Jack Evans a defender released by Blackburn, was announced yesterday.

From the same town as me so followed Anderson's career closely, was highly rated and did well at Forest but then injuries took their toll and he's gradually dropped down the divisions. Shame as he has the ability.

Thanks for that, sad that injury wrecks so many promising careers, from checking his stats I think he could be quite a good signing for us...if we do sign him...he has a pretty impressive beard, the likes only seen recently on one of the Sinclair brothers!

As expected Marvin Ekpiteta has left us and signed for Blackpool.

His head was clearly turned last summer, alot of our better players signed new deals but Marvin never did, rumours that we turned down offers for him from League One sides.

He was slow out of the blocks this season, but did improve as the season went on. He'll need to make sure he's fully switched on to suceed in League One. 23 and with alot of time to improve.

You’ll get a glowing endorsement from Halifax fans I’d imagine, but he was like bambi on ice for us, strong and pacy but plays football like his feet are on backwards.

Bolton are still tens of millions in debt after the initial debt of £200 million accrued was reduced from being sold last August I think. It seems some clubs just never learn and it’s a real kick in the teeth for other clubs that operate fairly and within the proper guidelines.
Wrong, we have no debt

3 year deal @ £4K pw. Yikes!
Madness, that. I’m bloody glad we never got near that sort of offer.

Wrong again, we have a defacto salary cap for any new players of £2000p/week wages, and this lasts until the end of next season. We also CANNOT pay any transfer fee's for players. We have no debt, the £200m that keeps being quoted was owed to the previous owner Eddie Davies, who wrote the debt off, the new board and owners are cash rich, we just can't spend any of it on players. I'd go back to the people quoting the bollocks of £4000 a week for Eoin Doyle, and remind them that the EFL ratify and examine all of our player incomings, to ensure we stay within the rules they sey out

It wasn't the bloke released by Northampton, it was a 20 year old defender called Kane Wilson from West Brom, who has spent time on loan at Exeter and Tranmere.

We seem to be building a young squad for next season, our four signings so far are 19, 20, 23 and 26 years old.
