I’d happily have Matt at Mansfield, good L2 player. Bet he’s got plenty of interest.

Jamille Matt was pretty fucking gash before he went to Newport, let's not forget that. He was great at Kiddy in the Conference, started well at Fleetwood but then he had a good few seasons of being crap. He'd have to be in the right team to do as well as he has at Newport. And he wouldn't have Amond next to him in any other team either who is the real gem in that attack.

But he’s been a good player for the past couple of seasons, which is probably more important.

True but scoring 20 in 18/19 but only 6 in 19/20 would be a concern?

He is not somebody you should be signing to be the top goal scorer, that being said I’m pretty confident he would be double digits at Mansfield for example. He’s such a pain in the arse to defend against.

Look at Maynard before his season with Bury, now he’s regarded as one of the best in the lower divisions.

Elliott Watt is good yeah. He’s a deep midfielder, not really your typical league 2 defensive midfielder with crunching tackles etc, but starts off attacks with good forward passing. His set piece delivery is very good as well, we scored quite a lot from his deliveries in the final 2 months of the season.

Someone has posted on our forum that Joe Mills has signed the contract we offered him, which would be brilliant...I was sure he would succumb to the lure of Plymouth or Blackpool, the clubs reportedly chasing his services.

Cryptic tweet saying stay tuned for big news next week with a gif of Michael Jordan (no 23). Given that's Joe Mills squad number, it looks promising.

I can't imagine you're signing Sutton as your starting CM, he will be for depth. He's generally good in the tackle but that's about it. One of the players we held onto for far too long just because they came through our youth system. He'd also be banned for the first three games following his red card on our last game.

You never know seen as we have zero contracted CMs currently. Some seem to think he may be signed as a RB seen as we have none of those either. Better as a CM?

He was very poor as a RB, I think the last time he played there was Crewe away where Charlie Kirk torn him apart and he didn't play there again. He's better as a CM for sure.

Worth adding that this rumour came from what I imagine to be a 10 year old on Twitter.

Given that we are signing younger and younger players this summer, perhaps 23 is the combined ages of our next two players!

Levi Sutton confirmed, released from Scunthorpe, I suspect the first of a few underwhelming signings.

We’re gonna need bodies - he’s our only midfielder. He’s here to make up the numbers.

Matt is still a handful and would have been offered a contract had it not been for Covid. Ronaldo wouldn’t have got more than 6 for us last season such was the poor service to Matt and Amond. Need someone like Willmott supplying decent crosses to get the best out of Matt.

Ipswich being linked with Ebou Adams. Key player for us, would be a blow to lose him so hope it's bollocks.

No doubt that Ebou is an important player for Rovers and in any other circumstances I would be really sad to see him leave. However in the current climate getting a fee for a player would be a bonus and, with there likely to be a large number of players from a higher level looking for a club, I don't think we would have to try too hard to identify a suitable replacement...that would soften the blow a little!

Yeah maybe so. All I'm saying is some of the praise people are heaping on him here is a bit OTT.

Isn't he the lad that came on against us and got sent off instantly for smashing Elliot Whitehouse?

Yes hence the end bit of my post, one stupid tackle doesn't make him bad in the tackle.

Burton were allegedly in for Vernam but according to one of those ex agent sites, it could have fallen through with another Lg1 club possibly interested.............

Though looking at the comments below, he could still be on for the Brewers.

Not sure if that's where it came from originally, but Burton are the only ones that have been mentioned everywhere since it became apparent we had somehow lost a player we had an option for another year on.

Billy Clarke will almost certainly end up here.
Yep, that seems nailed on.

What’s this Garmston fella we’ve been linked with like SOC?
