He gets quite a lot right this guy, in his defence.

We all would if we trawled through every club forum and followed the right journos. And deleted the tweets that were way off the mark.

If they aren't linking to a website or working under a real name, it is ALWAYS just some sad sack trying to build a following.

What’s this Garmston fella we’ve been linked with like SOC?
He only played a handful of times for us and I only personally saw him once away at Colchester. He did alright then though, and the general consensus was that he looked solid enough in the other matches, however I think we lost 3-0 twice in his last two games but they were against Plymouth and Northampton. I'd imagine he'd be a decent signing at Conference level.

Anthony Wordsworth is being linked with us after his release from Wimbledon. He can join the many players who've played for ourselves, Southend and Colchester.

Exeter, Forest Green, Barrow, Grimsby, Morecambe and Walsall all interested in Reise Allassani according to the supposedly more reliable EFL rumour twitter account.

No idea who he is but he seems to have an active agent.

After Googling him, I remember him being hot shit for Dulwich Hamlet a few seasons ago.

We were linked to signing him when he left Dulwich Hamlet but he went to Coventry that summer. He was indeed shit hot for DH but they play in the league below Conference South so he struggled to make the step up to L1.

Although we’re linked with him again I highly doubt we will sign him as any new players need to be defenders.

Again, in Barrow's case at least, that one was started by a prank account. Any Twitter account that started up as a source of transfer rumours in June/July 2020 is just a bored teenager...

Yeah most tend to be bollocks, although tbf this account has got 1 or 2 right recently.

The account with a profile pic written in chalk and no understanding of commas?

"Intrested"

I know we all like to see rumours about our own club, but literally anyone can start up a rumour account. Even the national papers do it if column inches need filling.

That was literally the first place that called our signing of Jack Evans though tbf. Not the most obvious to call, some unknown kid from Blackburn?

A Google search shows that Football Insider had that story first - a real person called Wayne Veysey.

I'm not trying to piss on anyone's chips, just saying that no twitter account that isn't affiliated to a proper website or a journalist is "in the know" - they're just copying and pasting or making nonsense up.

Byron Harrison is off to Morecambe, according to one of them...

Football insider tends to be pretty accurate.

At least if nothing else it shows some of the rumour accounts at least look for decent sources to copy and paste stuff from, rather then just making random shit up.

He still attends games so hears bits and pieces. One of the better twitter 'Agents', so usually gets a fair few rumors spot on.

Do you know him?
He can't decide if he's an agent, a scout or a freelance journalist. Never seen his byline on any article anywhere, and has no contact details anywhere. Very strange.

I will miss seeing Nicky Hunt's name on the opposition team sheet.

Probably do a job in NLN though i would think though I am basing that on absolutely nothing

Still remember Rovrum fans chuffed when they signed him... his debut at Vale Park was over in 45 minutes as Vincent tore him apart and he was a red card waiting to happen. (Lasted longer than Wilson on the other flank did that day mind against JMW)!

Always felt at ease when knowing he is in the opposing sides back line!

Our local journo confirming the rumour that we're close to signing Elliot Watt on a permanent deal from wolves.

Their 17 fans will be delighted.

Very bored of that joke step 9 club trying to buy the league before pre-season has even started.

I can’t see that changing until they get to where they expect/want to get unfortunately. There’s not many clubs I would rather really struggle but in Salford’s case I would make an exception. I guess a lot wouldn’t shed a tear if they crawled back under the stone they emerged from.

rumours circulating up here (from someone who's right half the time) that Andy Cook is on his way back to the club. It's known we tried to get him on loan last season before he went out to another of his former clubs Tranmere.

What is going on with the new avatar's? When people say "we" I haven't a clue which club they are referring to now the club supports has been taken away.

I was wondering that too, unless you have been around for a while and know which team someone supports, or there is an obvious clue in their avatar or user name...you wouldn't have a Scooby.

I have just fixed mine!!!

Two more signings for us in the last 24 hours, Luke McGee a 24 year old keeper from Pompey, and just announced this morning Jake Young an 18 year old forward from Sheffield United. This seems to be continuing our policy of signing younger players.

Nicky Hunt signed for us. Do a job in NLN?
I think that’s an immense signing for that level. He played for one of the best league 2 sides last season, played a lot of football also and never let us down. He’s got 0 pace but rarely gets caught out. He’s got a fantastic football brain. Just don’t play him at full back he’s to slow for that, he’s a fantastic centre half. Personally I’d have kept him as back up in league 1, that’s how good he’s been for us.

Presumably there’ll be a fee involved? He didn’t have the desired impact on his return to Rovers but still a decent player at this level.
