Are there other clubs in this league with 0 new signings or is it only us?

We are apparently leading the way in signing Simeon Akinola from Barnet.

Rumours were suggesting we was in for him as well, but his position isn't really a priority for us as we need a striker and a centre half.

Yes, us. Taylor has said we’d offer contracts to targets this week but I don’t expect any confirmed signings for a couple of weeks at least

We have already signed six new players...can anyone beat that total?

The big question is whether we have been following this half-dozen and just waited for them to become available and do a deal or have just rushed around grabbing whoever we could persuade to join us. The player I am looking forward to seeing play the most is Nicky Cadden, who we signed from Greenock Morton, who looks pretty good based on the highlights I have seen.

Just out of interest, where do you think Salford is?

I get what he's saying in some respect. I said myself Bolton going down was the worst thing that'd happen to Salford. As soon as Salford would pursue an array of marquee signings, Bolton (who need to heavily rebuild the squad) will just nip in, offer similar wages, better crowds and the feeling of playing for an actual club rather than a vanity project.

I know you lot aren't too enthused, but good signing that in my opinion. Would have loved to have kept him here, but can't deny him his chance to prove himself back at Bradford. The main question mark over him is if he stays fit or not. Going off last season, he's comfortably good enough to hold down a spot in the decent team in this division.

My sentiments exactly. I think he brings a wealth of experience - great addition.

I’m not sure he’s a starter, but certainly an option from the bench. I can’t see him getting ahead of Vaughan and Novak.

Oh yeah, he shouldn't be getting brought in with 46 starts in mind. Another factor for the Bradford critics of his to consider is that other than a handful of games for Plymouth, he hasn't had a run of games at this level for ages (if ever?) before he signed for us.

What formation are you expecting to play next season? Vaughan and Novak would more of a central role, wouldn't they? And Clarke competing with your wide forwards? Unless you're going 2 up top and getting the width from midfield?

We've signed 6, but we've lost several of our better players and most of our high earners. Even Joe Mills signing a new deal now looks less likely.

The signings are mainly unproven or kids, 3 of them have never played at this level even Luke McGee who has decent EFL experience has only played 4 league games in the last 2 years and was third choice at Portsmouth last season. Wilson is rated but spent half of last season injured.

I would say our current squad, other then 1 or 2, is the cheapest we've had in years. It's definitely the youngest. In the last 12 months we've lost Doidge, Reid, Brown, Williams, Campbell, Grubb, Frear, Mondal, Dawson, Rawson, Shephard and McGinley, all quality players. Plus obviously Aitchison who's loan has ended. Add Mills to that and your talking about pretty much the whole squad that got us to 5th (other then Winny). Have we replaced them well enough?

None for us either.

Aside from the 3 youth players accepting their first pro deal, we haven't given any new deals to out of contract players either.

Levi Sutton, Motley-Henry and Billy Clarke confirmed, Elliott Watt (Wolves) and Richard O’Donnell set time sign an extension next week, whenever the window officially opens. Tried for Sarcevic but couldn’t match Bolton.

Makes me feel a lot more comfortable knowing there are a number of other League 2 clubs with no transfer business done.

We are in same boat as you too - got 17 on the books so guess we might just start season with them.

I think formation will depend on how recruitment goes, but from memory, McCall likes the 442! Hard to see where Clarke might fit in, unless he tries the diamond.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: ???
CB: Anthony O’Connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Zeli Ismael
CM: Elliot Watt
CM: ???
LW: Harry Pritchard

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Lee Novak

Subs:

Clayton Donaldson
Paudie O’Connor
Kurtis Guthrie
Billy Clarke
Levi Sutton
Dylan Mottley-Henry

Still plenty of work to be done.

You signed Elliot Watt, I missed that. On loan?

Glad we've got Luke Hendrie for another year, because I reckon he'd have been another one going back to Bradford to fill that RB spot. That Bradford bench looks strong, too.

Decent player is Hendrie. Can definitely see him back at City at some point, given his fathers roots.

Some dodgy rumour site linking us with Alex Gilliead - another ex City-man.
