Any mileage in the suggestion James Vaughan will move to Tranmere, Bantams fans? I asked a workmate who was a season ticket holder, but he hadn't heard anything about that.

Nothing said at our end. However, I personally have a hunch that he will end up with you this summer. We will probably do what we did with Eoin Doyle last summer, loan him out to Tranmere and then he will go out and score a shed load of goals for you, whilst we struggle to score goals all season

Will Tranmere take on his wages? I think any move would hinge on that.

I wish we could just fucking sign Bingham and then announce us as 2021 League 2 champions.

Some mixed messages on that, on the one hand a league lower, projected £1 million down and 20 redundancies, on the other compensation for Micky Mellon while recruiting a replacement from within and one of our players possibly being sold for a tidy sum. Hard to call.

It was well documented that Eoin Doyle was our highest earner (£5k p/w) last season, but Vaughan is thought to be on something similar. There’s not many clubs in this league that could justify his wages. Personally, I’ll be gutted if he leaves - but I can’t see it

In other news, looks like O’Donnell has agreed a new deal - happy with that.

On Vaughan, he signed a three year deal last summer which would suggest to me he’s on a lower weekly wage but on a longer deal than he would’ve earned otherwise, still maybe £3k? Either way, you could get maybe two or three for the same price under the new rules, alternately you have a proven striker for the division, personally I would prefer to keep him.

Delighted to have resigned O’Donnell, one of the best keepers in the league for me and really the only signing (renewal technically) we’ve made that’s in anyway impressive.

I think he’s meant to be a very good player but injuries have severely hampered him in recent years.

Looks like he’s only managed 20 odd games in each of the last 2 seasons so he’d be a gamble considering the current financial climate

We've signed Paul Mullin on a one year deal. He impressed me on his loan with us last season scoring 2 goals in 6 games. Tranmere fans were up in arms when we signed him which is always a good sign.

Pleased with our first signing of the summer.

Mullin has a certain talent but ultimately was not good enough for us.

He has got a good strike and scores some spectacular goals, but his goals to games ratio was poor and he could be anonymous at times.

One of those transfer rumour twitter accounts says we’re close to signing Colin Cramb in a player/coach role.

He’ll add a bit of league experience to a youngish squad I guess. Probably won’t be our main striker but will be looking to make an impact from the bench.

Grimsby/Crewe/Doncaster/Shrewsbury/Walsall fans... any good?

Can't be in a player role surely? He must be knocking on for 50 now!

Taft is a solid league two center back. Prone to errors but most are. Would be surprised if he was going to be a starter for you though.

Up in arms is a bit strong. He was loaned out shortly after getting the winner in our Cup game v Watford, which was good news financially for us, so timing of his loan move a bit of a surprise. Hope he does well for you,

Micky Mellon didn’t seem to rate him much, preferred playing Cole Stockton up front in our early L2 return then Norwood as a lone striker and Paul didn’t get much of a look-in, denting his confidence. No surprise he’s gone, always put a shift in for us, but not clinical enough.

Thought he gave a reasonably good account of himself when given the opportunity. Should get 12-15 goals for you next season if you play him regularly.

Yeah struggles with injuries. We only signed him late in 2018 so played most of the games until the end of the season and performed well but couldn't get a decent string of games together last season - though that could also have been through boycotting games, who knows.

He's a decent defender who'll get in the way of anything, but can also bring the ball out and play the simple pass forward - however not the quickest if caught out.

Now linked with Crewe goalkeeper Dino Visser, as are Port Vale.

Also rumours that were getting Marcus Dewhurst back on loan from Sheff Utd. I’d imagine he’d be the no 1 if sheff are allowing him to return.

Paul Mullin has been a good player for Accrington. I would partner him with someone like Michael Reddy and you would have a very good front line.

You need Tranmere legend Lumpaldinho to get the best out of Reddy. He was the brains and the touch behind Reddy's only decent full season.

I read your twitter account when it was announced and your fans were fuming. Anyway I saw enough of him in those six games to know he will be a good signing for us.

I'm pleased with Mullin's signing, he's decent enough for a 4th div side, and I would partner him with Harvey Knibbs. One's got the finishing (Mullen) and one's got the pace and stamina (Knibbs).

Easy this football manager lark :cool1:

Mullin had an okay loan spell and you got a sense there was something more in him. Not a signing I'm going to get too excited about but it's a solid first signing.

I've liked Taft since he first signed on loan from
Burton, mainly because he was slightly better than most of our other centre backs, that isn't saying much though. He's a big lad, has experience playing left back. Originally Richard Money brought him in on loan as we were experimenting with a back 3 and he wanted a left sided centre back. He's very good with young fans so he became a bit of fans favourite with youngsters, and that has perhaps slightly skewed the fact that he is mistake prone. He fell out of favour last season, and I guess Bonner thinks we can attract better. He's not perfect, but is a decent enough league 2 centre back. Maybe with some good experienced defenders around him he could turn into being more than a decent L2 player. A little surprised Bolton signed him, but it's a big move so I'm happy for him.

Alan Nixon reporting that Barrow are close to signing Mike Jones. Solid experienced signing for a newly promoted team.

We have to adhere to the incoming £1.5 million salary cap. So for every Doyle we bring in we then have to bring in players on far less who are a bit of a gamble.
