We've signed Paul Digby on a one year deal. What's he like Forest Green, Mansfield and Stevenage fans?

Big unit, versatile can play dm, cb and rb. Decent in the air, covers a lot of ground for a big lad. Should be a solid signing.

Brox got any idea why Paul Digby only made 17 appearances for Boro? Tactical reasons or injuries? Cheers.

I think That Fat Centre Half used to watch Boro as well when Luton had an away game. Did you get to watch the chap this season? Thanks.

Sounds like Devine is going to be a thrilling signing based on the feedback here.

What a time to be a Carlisle fan.

How they played previously means nothing though.

Charlie Goode was terrible here and we were all delighted to see the back of him, he goes on to captain Northampton to promotion as one of their best players.

Only saw them a few times this season as went to a few more aways for us and Hitchin games this season. Don’t recall seeing him specially but when I did go, nobody looked any good in that team really Especially midfield where they looked very poor indeed. Only midfield player who looked up to snuff was Charlie Carter but thats off the basis of the couple of games I saw.

As fellow Bantams have said, he looked very promising when he broke through into the first team about 4 years ago. However, he never kicked on and has wasted the last 2 years at Bradford City to be honest with barely a handful of appearances in that time.

Hopefully a change of scenery and some nice Cumbrian air will do him good, and he revives his flagging career with you.

Can only see him as a squad player. We have some good central midfielders.
Just short of a holding minder type player.
I dont think he is that type of player.

He's a tidy enough player, tends to keep it simple and mostly passes sideways and backwards (hence the high pass success rate, I guess). Fits the holding midfielder role, he's not adventurous at all. Never saw anything much in him until the start of this season when he was really impressive for a couple of months, but then he lost his place due to international duty and struggled to get back into the side. A bit lightweight and not fussed he's gone.

I think formation will depend on how recruitment goes, but from memory, McCall likes the 442! Hard to see where Clarke might fit in, unless he tries the diamond.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: ???
CB: Anthony O’Connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Zeli Ismael
CM: Elliot Watt
CM: ???
LW: Harry Pritchard

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Lee Novak

Subs:

Clayton Donaldson
Paudie O’Connor
Kurtis Guthrie
Billy Clarke
Levi Sutton
Dylan Mottley-Henry

Still plenty of work to be done.

Do you think kurtis Guthrie will get loaned out as he wont get in ahead of Clarke Vaughan Donaldson or Novak. I know us at vale wanted sign him in January but obviously ended up at Bradford instead.

If the right deal was there I'm sure we wouldn't oppose it. As it is, we currently have too many strikers and too many of the same striker. And Guthrie is at the very bottom of that list.

In all fairness to him, we've seen next to nothing of him as he had a bit of an injury but even when he was fit, McCall didn't fancy him.

First I've heard or seen anything of such, where did you find that?

The same bullshit Twitter account that said we were signing Allassani, Poleon and has copied two fictional rumours made up by that ludicrous Barrow AFC Transfer Rumours Twitter account...

Club news posted on twitter and YouTube states we will be running with a reduced budget next season due to the virus et al which probably applies to about 2/3 rds of the clubs in the efl.

Then goes on to say we hope to sign a Premier player, a championship player and one from league 1 shortly. Quite how that works on a reduced budget is anyones guess....it's probably a kid from Brighton and Charlton.

if you look through that twitter account, they’ve been spot on with a lot of transfers. You may yet sign Poleon, he hasn’t signed for anyone else as far as I know.

As mentioned, we haven’t seen much of Guthrie to really have a much of an opinion.

Of the little I’ve seen and from what I know of him generally, he's in the mould of a Lee Novak. Strong, can hold the line, but generally plays off the last man. Of the other strikers we currently have at our disposal, Donaldson is an out and out target man, Vaughan is a poacher and Clarke’s best position is a number ten - they all offer something different.

This being said; if an opportunity came whereby he was a wanted man and it meant someone like Jordi Hiwula returned, then fair enough.

I think the expression would be 'solid but not spectacular'
During his year with FGR he played nearly every game during season and scored his one career goal.
A couple of MoM awards in team that reached promotion play-offs.
Appreciated by FGR fans during that time but his loss was not overly mourned.

I would welcome the return of Hiwula. I believe he turned us down in the January window, so maybe he wouldn't want to drop to league 2, where I think he would be very good. That said, he is out of contract, and not sure whether any league 1 clubs interested?

I think he has been rumoured to have interested us several times in the past. No idea if he is a MA type of player or not though.

CJ to Blackpool is looking nearly done, we’ve heard around £200,000 or £300,000. It’s split the fan base massively, I’m 50:50 but we must have a sizeable sell on clause.

I do think he will do well at Blackpool, better than here anyway.

Seems weird Blackpool spending £500k+ in two days. I know their previous owners were tight but they're not the size of club you'd be expecting to spend that kind of money without them.

Salford sign Jason Lowe on a 3 year deal.

Hell of a good signing that I think.

Cracking solid player...He was our highest paid player on a good championship salary.
A number of lge 1 teams were after him.
Unfortunatly we could not match Salfords money.

I expect he will captain them this coming season.

I originally thought "here we go, overspending again" when Bolton's signings of Doyle and Sarcevic were announced. But the lads from Cambridge and Colchester (and Matt Gilks as goalie cover/coach) do seem sensibly budgeted - the sort of signings that Dale might have been looking at if they were unfurloughed. Fair play.

Lot of money for L2 players, for sure. Plus Anderson was our highest paid player so he wouldn’t have come cheap.

Cheers. I suspect there was more fun to be had at Hitchin than at Boro, well at least you did get to watch a few home wins :) And it cost you less to get in as well.

Good luck for tonight. The prospect of meeting Watford next season should be all the motivation the players need.

According to a rumour on our forum, George Tanner, a full back just been released by Manchester United, is joining us.

Morecambe(not so much Salford) fans, is he any good?

also Joe Riley (Ex Man United and Bradford) apparently signing.

feel like I’m saying this a lot but... Bradford fans? Opinions? Another shit one to add to our list of Bradford rejects?

Hard to say, was signed on mega money (former Man U reserve captain, mad ex-chairman couldn’t wait to pay), started slowly and was quickly frozen out, came back last preseason and did his knee, out for the year. Wouldn’t like to think how much we paid him for a handful of games.
