Who’s having a go at Doyle? I’m just questioning the policy of giving a 32 year old a 3 year contract on wages way above the L2 norm.

Especially from a club that nearly folded recently.

Bolton 20/21...not the same as previous seasons...sick of saying it

Evatt is looking beyond this season...

Our captain Joe Mills strongly rumoured to have rejected a new contract. No surprise it's been quiet on that for over a month now.

Plymouth, Blackpool and Swindon all linked.

Massive loss for us, been our best player for the last 2 seasons, and was our top scorer (from left back) last season despite missing quite a few games.

Is Matty Platt going to be the new defensive version of Rakish Bingham?

I already can’t wait to see him play. I’ve seen Sergio Ramos live, but I get the feeling this is going to be up several levels.

He was one of the three key players that were instrumental in getting us promoted, so we're going to be thrilled at signing him.
Blackburn also extended his contract even though he's nearly 23, so yes, it's not a stretch to say he should be in League 1. No hyperbole here, just a really good signing that we have on good authority was offered the chance to go to Bolton this summer.

Good luck to the lad...Evatt was after both him and Tom White...Hope he does well for you next season

Matty Platt to Barrow confirmed, and it's a 2-year-deal! We've also paid some sort of fee for him. I suspect Blackburn have probably retained some kind of sell-on clause as he only just had his contract extended last month.

Thought he might have come back on loan if Bolton didn't get there first but to get him on a two year deal is beyond anything I expected.

I give up
I wish you would. We'll see if it is a waste of money, i'm fairly happy about the coming season, it won't be a walk in the park, and so long as we go up, i'm not arsed about owt else

League 1 is quite a stretch though. It’s a huge mountainous step up from National League. Let’s see him step up to League 2 first before declaring him League 1 standard.

Always liked him.

Salford sign Ian Henderson on a two year deal.

They're doing what they did in the National League - Signing as many experienced proven players as they can from the leagues above with their big budget.

They will be there or thereabouts next season for sure.

Huge pressure on Alexander now to deliver promotion, if not the title, for them after the way Lim has backed him.

I don't think Grezza is a particularly good manager at all and is very lucky to have landed the jobs he has.

He struggled to get Fleetwood up despite big resources at this level too.

Average job at Scunny.

Always annoys me when he gets touted for the PNE job on no basis other than he was well liked as a player.

But Alexander will seem like Pep Guardiola compared to the 2 clowns they had previously.

What the fuck! Played some of the best football seen since Hoddle, you plum.

The same as I said Mansfield were one of the best sides we played, that one game I saw was obviously an anomaly as you were flirting with relegation most of the season.

as someone who saw every Stags away game last season, I can confirm that the performance at Swindon was a typical Stags away performance last season. We didn’t win because we missed too many chances but generally played quite well. Similar away games included Crewe, Plymouth, Port Vale, Newport etc. where we didn’t win and should have done.
Our main issue last season was our home form where we won only four games. The main reason for the shocking home form was the conceding of silly goals every home game.

Would love him here, doesn’t look like McFadzean will be re-signing so we have an empty LWB slot.

Yeah I can't work Alexander out as a manager. His teams are capable of going 15 unbeaten and then 15 without winning, there seems to be no in between.

I didn't realise his win % over Fleetwood, Scunny and Salford is around the 40% mark and for that, you'd expect a bit more IMO.

Appleton has suggested that the released players we could have gone back in for have sorted themselves out - Eardley and Bostwick will be the two.

I'm not sure MA would have those two back anyway purely because of the age of the squad we're going with (currently 22!).

Club have confirmed that we were never in for Henderson. Not surprising given we have Vaughan, Novak, Clarke, Donaldson and Guthrie upfront already.

The only target we’ve missed out on is Sarcevic.

Calum McFadzean not signing a new contract for us. Missus is having a baby so he wants to move back up north with her. Would make a decent fullback in L2.

He’d of fitted in with the average age of your frontline!

We're short on full backs. He used to be at Bury. Hmm.
