I honestly don’t think Mansfield is a worse away day than Grimsby; but each to their own and that.

Mansfield isn’t a bad away day, pretty easily accessible, decent away stand, some decent pubs in town.

Both awaydays limited our experience - all our coaches and mini-buses, including those travelling by train were wrapped up and sent straight to ground. Grimsby stuck us in a boozer 15 mile from BP. I prefer Grimsby just because I think their ground has slightly more character - as far as the away day experience is concerned, can’t say I can really comment.

That's ridiculous, I had no idea they did that. Probably because The Blunts came to town a few pre-seasons before and caused a load of shit. Hopefully they don't do that to you again this season if you're allowed to come at all.

There’s obvious ability there, but he doesn’t use it properly which makes him frustrating. His ball control and ability to change direction and glide past players is impressive, but then once he’s beaten a player he usually makes the wrong decision. Our previous manager played him as a CM and he was poor, doesn’t help that he doesn’t have a defensive bone in his body but for me it was his wastefulness that drove me mad, 9 times out of 10 chose the wrong pass or took too long to make the right pass - Just doesn’t see the picture. Our current manager moved him to right wing before lockdown and he was better. I think there he doesn’t have to get stuck in as much, has less decisions to make and can concentrate on what he does best in going past players and not having to worry about everything around him.

Ricardo Santos is a big, lumbering liability of a defender so good luck with that. Saw him a few times at Peterborough. He had a good game if he didnt manage to fall over his own feet.

There does seem to be a certain symmetry about Bolton's potential defensive line up - very tall and prone to Britney Spears impressions of the "oops I did it again" variety when trying to pass a ball to a team-mate! Delaney was prone to this at Dale; previous posts on here suggest Haft was similar for Cambridge; Santos at Posh as per your post.

If Rhys Bennett can stay fit, though, he might be the exception...

two ways of playing...along the deck every team will get mullered with Boltons midfield..Play it long three donkey centre halfs sticking the head on it landing at a midfielders foot..

Or do what we did against the top sides last year and high press and suffocate. Worked a treat most times. Hence our ridiculous record against the top half.

Imagine many sides will just pack the midfield against Bolton, if Stevenage get a reprieve you’ve got a right treat there! You only play about 10 minutes a half of match play, the rest is waiting for them to get off the floor!

when it comes to centre halves Evatt doesn't go for the old style 6'4"+ centre halves who just head and kick the ball away - that's not his style at all - the plays out from the back and unless his defenders can be taught to pass the ball very well he'll get rid of them

Delaney is by no means useless. He's a decent old fashioned centre back who is at his best when he has no time to think. When given time, he seems to lose concentration. If Evatt wants his defenders to play tiki-taka, Ryan D is probably not the best choice. Evatt didn't sign him, either - he was a Keith Hill signing for both Dale and Bolton.

Thats a fair view....Think Evatt will give him a fair crack of the whip, but i do not see him as a starter each week
