Jack Payne Swindon

A player who has just signed for Swindon is now signing for Grimsby - I’m confused?

We were paying Payne £10k per week when he was with us; somehow I think he’s out of Grimsby’s grasp.

Apparently we’ve signed a midfield with experience of a promotion from League 2, any guesses?
The suspense is over, it’s ex Swindon, Oxford and Pompey midfielder Danny Rose.

pleased with that

So you should be. Great player for L2 - never quite got the regular starts with us he deserved.

Good signing!

He does enjoy playing against Crawley. That’s one for you to look forward to. And Harrogate. And Stevenage. And Morecambe.

Exciting times!
He only likes playing against Crawley when he's with Swindon.

Check out Dalison's scorpion kick to stop Doyle scoring for Bradford in January. Doyle even shook his hand afterwards.

That’s cos it’s only Wellens that’s managed to get him scoring regularly.

I’m not really miffed he left. There’s no way we should be offering him a 3 year deal. He obviously prefers playing in the basement for more money than playing in a higher league. You might get a couple of seasons out of him in L2. Financial millstone, though.

Well no, it was because he's utterly shit at Championship level.

whats this Anthony Grant like?

Coming our way

Seems Doyles put a good word in for him

Talented but lazy. He will look like a Championship player at times but has games where he just isn't bothered. That said I'd probably prefer him in my League Two team than against, certainly if he woke up on the right side of the bed on match day. Must be getting on a bit now though?

Lazy? He worked his nuts off last season. He’ll fuck up a few L1 midfielders this season as well.

He turned down Bradford, Port Vale and Bristol Rovers put in a offer aswell.

By the sounds of things, we ended our interest - he didn’t turn us down.

We don’t want to have another Vaughan situation, whereby a player sulks because he’s homesick.

No I think he had offers from all three mentioned.

I doubt very much we put in any offer at all. He is not the type of player on our radar. Garner is looking at players who are quite a bit under the age of 30 and who will have to fit into the new system of a passing football game. He is also looking for players who are team players and have no ego's. Plus the fact when Maynard left "The Shit" he said he did'nt want to remain in Bristol and have his son adopt the accent.

Well where it’s come from, is usually bang on.

Good to see that you’ve skipped anger, bargaining & depression and headed straight for acceptance.
Anger gets you no where ask gbsc . Depression ask berry....acceptance is just staying in lge 2 for 20 years

Leave that for Exeter

At most clubs he generally is superb then falls out for whatever reason or wants out. I don’t recall him being overly lazy with us but usually 18 months in you know he wants out.

Did it with us, Shrewsbury, Crewe he left for location reasons then rolled up 10 miles away at VP.

Cracking player but does seem to have an unpredictability about him. His six game ban for us was absolutely ridiculous at a key time in the relegation season too. Harsh red but to come out and try and get to the referee like he did was unforgivable.

Looks like Lloyd Isgrove could be on his way to you as well.

Absolute cracking player - on his day. Bit injury prone but will rack up assists for your strikers. Wouldn’t have minded him staying.

Grimsby going for it?

Better sit on this one - could be bollocks

Grimsby rumoured to sign defender Danny Preston from Forest. He had a loan spell at Alfreton last season. Got better but looked shaky. Not sure he is league standard
