We’ve signed Reading defender Matty Carson on a 2 year deal, club hasn’t announced it yet but Peter O’Rourke has and I’ve genuinely never known O’Rourke get anything wrong.
He told us Dobra was going Oxford in Jan which turned out to be complete bollocks & Dobra signed a new 2 year deal a few weeks after …

He also told us Paul Cook was going Plymouth a few weeks before that too.

Doesn’t get too many right when it comes to us old Pete

Barrow's 2nd signing of the day is 23 year old centre half Sam Barnes from Blackburn Rovers on an initial 1 year deal.
Our 3rd is the re-signing of Rory Feely on a 1 year deal. We had released Feely at the end of the season, but Clemence had something in mind for him. Wouldn't be surprised to see a target man forward brought in to capitalise on his long throws.

I remember he pulled off a wonder save right on front of the away end from that Langstaff fella when the game was tied 2-2 down at AFC last season. That's all I've got to go on but on reputation that's a nice upgrade.

Would be good to hear Wimbledon fans thoughts from last season.
He's pretty damn good. Yes, he has the occasional brainfart moment but what keeper doesn't at this level? The number of clean sheets speak for themselves. I'm so disappointed that we didn't sign him.

We STILL don't have any goalkeepers despite having arguably the best goalkeeping coach in the EFL.

Best in the EFL, based on what exactly?

I totally agree and said the same thing earlier today.

Wyke, a decent LWB and a dominant centre half, and I would fancy us for top 3 for sure
Crazy how some of our fans don't want him back and think we can do better, without actually saying what better is of course.

Not been announced yet for some reason but think they both signed yesterday or are signing today

He was part of our relegation side, but I always liked Hemmings. Not prolific but will get 10-15 while doing a lot of hard work for the team.

The whole of the EFL is stretching it, but Aaron Ramsdale always credits Bayes as a crucial part of his development and he's helped produced a string of youth keepers who have been sold to Prem/Champ clubs in the last 10 years. Very highly regarded in the game and I'm amazed he's still with us.

Grimsby have signed Ryan Loft, Matty Carson, Callum McManaman and Jayden Danns on loan. Was speaking to our lass and she's looking forward to the season. Accrington at home first game of the season. Our lass and my bairns are going. Not me though

Seriously why do you bother?
You go through this cycle of posting then eventually go too far and get banned and then 6 months later come back as a different name.
What is the point because you’re not even funny.

I'm a sad man without a job. I'm voting Labour as hopefully they will give me more benefits. I have not got any friends. Our lass works in a factory so I'm alone all the time. Only got my dog Danny for company. That and my cans of Karpackie.

Are you sure there m9? WetherbyWhaler says he'd do a job in the National League.
That was a corker that, he said it a few times and I was proud of myself biting my tongue as long as I did with him. Probably, no certainly, the least knowledgeable person involved at a football club. Well maybe second behind Sparks.

Personally, I think he’s on a wind-up.

Montague got so much stick for January, and admittedly we did some obviously odd business but it’s hard to argue with what we’ve done so far. Just need a central midfield Matty Palmer insurance policy now - I’d love another CB but also don’t think Bedeau, Platt, Macari, Cameron (+ Chicksen/Mahovo in a terrible emergency) is a terrible 4 to start the season with

January was quite good long term, we got Robertson, Jatta and Macari who will all be key next season and has made this summer a lot easier, it just didn’t address what we needed to make something of last season.

Like Tsaroulla, he was brilliant against us at ML last season, and we spent all of last season running Jones and Nemane into the ground with no one else who could do their jobs. Think we’re quietly having a very good summer so far.

The weird brothers are certainly supporting Maynard to the hilt. Can he afford to fail now?

Nothing ‘quiet’ about it. The Notts statto nerds on Twitter almost as bad as the Vale lot on here!!

Another good signing on paper (I’ve never seen any of them play but seem to have good pedigree at this level) for you lot as you say. Definitely looks like you’re addressing the obvious weak areas of your team from the outside looking in. What’s the expectation level like amongst your fan base going into next year?

I had to mute the tacticos a year or so ago, couldn't cope.

I'd say top seven with a tilt at automatics will be the expectation. Obviously scoring isn't a problem even for a title push, so just depends how this new defence works together. Also a long time yet for a Langstaff, Jones or Crowley to get sold.

I think you can look at it in 2 ways - one they don’t really back a specific manager with signings - it’s not like when a Steve Evans rocks up at a club and wants all his guys and then it’s an expensive gamble. So if Maynard doesn’t work out, we’d replace him with a coach of a similar profile who can work with the same group of players

Second way is of course that Maynard has little excuse now, the bomb scares we had in defence last season and consistent ‘individual errors’ are the only reasons I’m not ‘out’ on him, I think he starts the season under more pressure than pretty much any other manager in the league

Although he without doubt had valid excuses last season, he didn't impress. He's definitely got a huge question mark hanging over his head, no excuses this and under more pressure than most.

The dreaded 'on paper' these group of signings certainly look promising we still need more physicality in the midfield, we don't scrap and do the dirty well which we didn't need to at NL level where we just passed it around pretty much every team. Doesn't apply up here, not when your best midfielder and most important player gets a long term injury. One effective workmanlike midfielder addition and I will be very happy with our business once again. Until then we are too weak in that key battleground area.

Overall the supercomputer that the quiet brothers brought with them has worked wonders to date. Another good age profile player with experience as to what's needed.

Long may it continue. Plus we will score goals and it won't be dull so there is always that.

Yeah I did the same, I do appreciate what they're doing and will go and check their page if I want to read about something specifically but for a while it felt like my timeline was nothing but "creators".

I think we need more depth for me to go crazy on expectations, if you told me we had as good of a run with injuries as we had in the promotion season I'd be expecting us to be going for the autos but we're a Palmer or Robertson long term injury away from midtable at the moment.

Haha, I know who we’re referring to here, seem like lovely lads and all that but yeah this new thing of lower league creators engagement farming using hyperbolic statements about 26 year old left backs from Woking feels like crashing the jet ski after you’ve jumped the shark
