Looks like Lewis Leigh is going to join Bromley permanently.

Wants regular football instead of just being sent out on loan for the next 2 years which is what would happen if he stayed here.

Likely to be the second (Sowunmi from Sutton the first) of 5 or 6

Any MK fans able to give info on Jay Bird?

We’re about to sign him and saw he was with MK Dons a couple of years ago, but looks to have had some injuries which saw him get released, and ended up most recently at Arbroath.
Not really, he was a youth player that barely played other than pre season friendlies and EFL Trophy games. Have to admit I’m surprised to see him back in the EFL.

Cheers. Yeah it’s a bit of a strange one. Think he’s a low risk punt and if he can prove himself then all good.

He did ok at Arbroath but that’s really NL level. Time will tell on this one, I guess.

Fleetwood sign Zech Medley from Belgian side. Started at Chelsea, then Arsenal over to Gillingham and then Kilmarnock. 6'5" so he'll more than fill a gap and hopefully become a decent player for us. Apparently both Manchester clubs were in for him, along with Scousers and Spurs but sees his future at the Cod Army lol
Massive but not very good physically, likes to play out but has an error per match in him. Considering he came from Arsenal I expected an awful lot more.

Seems we’ve got a lad from Southampton called Diamond Edwards training with us presumably with a view to a loan. Apparently a winger. How the fuck people figured it out from the photo that was posted I don’t know.

I liked Lewis Leigh. I don't think we were in for him this summer but I wouldn't have been upset if we were.

We should be signing a striker and a midfielder before the end of the week, I'm happy with them both. It will presumably mean we'll withdraw the contract offer for Courtney Baker-Richardson, but he didn't turn up for pre-season training so I assume he's off anyway.

In more annoying news, we've turned down several offers from Peterborough for Rio Adebisi, the last of which was apparently quite a good one, and now he might be going to a club outside of England, which means we'll get nothing for him.

Although he's now getting on a bit, Lyle Taylor terrorised our defence up here last season for Cambridge and was a handful.

Good signing for Colchester.

Looks like you’ve uncovered a bit of a gem there.

Fairly awful for Cambridge wasn’t he?

Taylor was shit for us (right before he went to Cambridge), but in fairness to him:

a) he was completely un-match fit after a long layoff
b) we only signed him because the window had shut at that time, we had a bunch of injured strikers - and he didn't fit the way we played. At all. But that's on us, not on him.

From what I remember with him at Cambridge, he started brightly - Neil Harris brought him in to the club, but then buggered off to Miwwaww and the new manager didn't rate him as much.

Taylor then lost popularity with CUFC fans after generally being a stroppy c**t - e.g. getting red carded for an unnecessary off the ball punch up - and by the time he left they were glad to see the back of him.

To try and be objective about this, I would say if the Cowleys can handle him, there's probably still a player in there (and certainly one that can cope with L2) but it's not a given.

Joe Day confirmed as player/GK coach. He'll be backup to Owen Evans when his signing is confirmed (probably later today).

I've heard he's a bit rough cut but but I suppose in the right setting he could sparkle.

True, but last season we were practically a lower table L2 team playing L1.

However, this season we'll be more like a top half L1 team playing in L2 once we've got our squad complete this summer.

May aswell just hand you the title now.

How many more signings are you expecting?

As things stand about 7 of our starting 11 will be players that finished bottom of League 1 last season. You're probably on the wind up, or you're living in cuckoo land.

He was excellent that day I have to say, although we didn't do much to stop him.

From reading Cambridge fans views last season that performance seemed to be the exception rather than the norm. But maybe the drop to this level will allow him to terrorise teams on a more regular basis.

Darren Witcoop(who can be up and down with his sources) saying there is now a deal in place for Adebisi. Hope so, would be frustrating to lose him for nothing.

Be interesting to see where CBR ends up given he has no contract now.

Pleased to get a couple more over the line, but still very short at GK, LB, CB and winger, so plenty more business to be done.

Yeah, saw a few people saying there's a deal in place now - I think Peterborough would be a good move, he should keep developing and there's every chance he goes again in 18 months or so and we get a decent sell on.

Yeah, not as convinced with this signing yet but I do think it could go either way. My main hope is that the Cowleys have emphasised that they're big on character and they had Taylor years ago - so I would hope they know him and how to work with him etc. If they can channel his attitude the right way then it may work out and, if not, it's only a one year deal.

All we need now is an established right back along with one or two attacking players who have pace and creativity. Then we'll at last be sorted enough to absolutely steam roll this tinpot league with Charlie Wyke being our 30 goal a season striker who let's be honest, would walk straight into any L1 team and you know it!

Also don’t forget that last season he was banging them in for Rotherham up in the Championship.
