We signed Liam boyce and Jackson Irvine from the Scottish leagues and they were two of our best players a few years ago. We sold Irvine for
2.5 million.
I think there are some gems in the Scottish leagues. We have hopefully just picked up another one and perhaps you might too.

Boyce and Irvine had both played a lot of SPL, though. Nothing to say this lad Vale are signing won’t turn out to be a gem, but when you’re signing from outside the top flight in Scotland, it’s like taking a punt on someone from Conference North level.

To be fair he is replacing Ryan Loft so doesn’t need to do much to be an improvement!

See your point but also a record for not going up auto wasn’t it? Did well at West Brom and decent at Donny. Has the highest win % of any manager we’ve had before but will now have the backing better than any. Starts a fresh for me though as last season even Pep or Klopp doesn’t turn around that squad.
He fucking ruined us, it’s why we’ve had 3 years of utter shite because of him

I think we can all agree that Moore is thick as mince. But big Dave was a legend for us at the back end of his career. Some managers are not as articulate as others but still get a tune out of the players.

Absolutely loved him as a player for us, not sure I would fancy him as our manager though

In fairness the reason we’ve managed to sign what we have is largely down to Moore.

Didn’t you fall like a stone once he left? 45% win record is pretty good at any level?
He brought in loads of loans promising them contracts and allowed all our contracted players, contracts to run out, he was touting his CV around while doing it too. He then left us for Sheff Wed, the loan players were pissed off, the contracted players started to find new clubs so after the season ended we had next to no players and all down the Moore.

Obligatory signing from Crawley. We had no competition or cover for Nemane at all last season, so should strengthen the squad at least.
8 of the starting 11 from Wembley now gone!

I liked Kellan. As said, he aint a great defender but as an attacking wing back he does really well. Suited what we were doing as we played with the wide men right up the field and he gave us an outlet if we had to go long to beat a press.

Nemane v2.0 is what I'm hearing. There was the quietest Twitter rumour of him coming here, but with our back 4 system we really need someone who can defend more reliably, so I'm kinda glad there was no truth to it.

Sounds like a good option/backup/competition to Nemane. Makes sense.

We appear to have adopting a more sensible approach this season but don't want to become dull. We need to entertain the fans so fast attacking wing back who is dodgy at defending fits the bill in our system.

Notts fans on Twitter typically wanting us to sign every trialist, have we ever signed one who has actually been any good?

Chicksen I guess. Other than that pretty much no.

Dion Kelly-Evans is the best I can come up with apart from Chicksen

I do remember us having Kieffer Moore on trial and we played him at centre-back

They do seem to be a bit more established this year, mind. Bromley have been trying to sign Kirk since his loan ended and half the league have been linked to Mnoga. Pretty obvious we still want a right sided centre back.

If DKE is the second best that says it all

How many of these people went to Alfreton? And the other was behind closed doors :err:

Mnoga would fit perfectly into last seasons Notts defensive clown car. All over the place.

Sign him and let him rot in the reserves. End his career. That would be a sweet form of justice.

We've got defender Nat Williams from NLS side Chippenham Town and midfielder Billy Brooks, formerly of Lincoln City, on trial. Brooks looked ok, Williams hard to judge. Both seem pretty random, doubt we sign either.

Oh Mnoga’s the guy that broke Tshimanga’s leg? We must sign him for the BEEF then I’m afraid

I mean, it was a tackle that resulted in an accidental leg break, why won’t fans of some clubs just let stuff like this go?

Sadat Anaku apparently linked, scored loads in Uganda before signing for Dundee.

I recoil when I see we have trialists in our pre season friendlies.

We had a dodgy ex Spennymoor keeper playing last week. We had Niall Maher and Sam Graham playing yesterday, last seen playing for Grimsby and Fylde respectively.

Not a new signing but while the players were out in Portugal Owen Bailey penned a new 3 year contract with the option of another year included, really happy with that.

We had Freddie Ladapo's brother on trial yesterday who played on both wings, scored a goal and seemingly impressed.

I think there's a solid enough L2 CB in Maher, he just didn't have a good seaaon last season. In his defence the whole back four was shambolic for large patches of when he played last season. He was really good alongside both Waterfall and Smith the season before. Think he only played once after we switched to a five at the back and looked more solid last season, I think had he played in that system, he would have done better and might not have been released. Certainly wouldn't be a bad signing for Bradford.
