Our record signing, Aidan Keena, is apparently back off to Ireland to join St. Patrick's on a permanent deal.

A shame, he started really well with 7 goals in half a season after signing, but he just couldn't get going at all last season and 1 goal was a very poor return. He's now probably dropped to 4th in the pecking order and he's one of our highest paid players, so probably best to cut our losses.

Rumours flying round that we’re signing Romoney Critchlow on a perm from Peterborough - I’d certainly welcome him back!

I’m hesitant to believe that just purely because we’re signing two more players - both of which are reportedly loans.

Not heard that one Firthy, but hope it's true. He would do very well as our left sided central defender in a three.

I think we are more likely to sign Sam Graham who left Fylde in the summer and went to Austria with the team last week.

We couldn’t afford Critchlow’s shoe laces never mind the actual player. Someone on Twitter quoting DMac that we offered 35% of his wages? What a waste of an email/phone call that was.

It has nothing to do with what we can or can’t afford. We have no wiggle room due to FFP.

How much are you spending on wages?

Bradford must have one of the highest revenues in the league with matchday income and sponsorships

Peterborough chairman has confirmed (via Barry Fry) we inquired about Critchlow mid-June. However, the club have now come forward and denied this.

This isn’t what we need right now.

Barry Fry chats so much shit though, I'd be inclined to believe Bradford over him. He's always used the media to drive transfers and manipulate deals.

Barry Fry could always spot a player! He signed me for Barnet in 1979 ( and only played me 6 times )

There's a decent player within Jake Taylor. His performance in the playoffs 2 years ago were excellent. He's technically good but very lightweight for this level and will get injured. He's basically not one you want alongside you in a battle.

a) dont be boring

b) we’re trying a radical new evolution on our patented chaos theory this season which involves playing actual centre-backs at centre-back, not full backs across the back 3, which I think will help. Nemane and Jones are only wing backs in name anyway, makes me laugh when people talk about Jones playing ‘further up the pitch’ - he got 20+ assists last season precisely because our wide players are the furthest players up the pitch.
And where did you finish?

We scored five against you with 35 per cent of the ball towards the end of last season. It could have easily been 10 that night. Time and time again your ‘wing backs’ were exposed.

Why can’t your wingers play as wingers in a balanced system and still rack up the assists?

Actual CBs in a back three are going to spell trouble if they can’t play out from the back (I know that was a constant issue last season) or they can’t defend in wide areas.

I like Notts as a club and the fans on this forum are a well balanced and generally knowledgeable group and want you to do well but I don’t think changing the CBs and getting rid of Bostock will solve the big issue which is the balance of the side.

We’ve had Jamal Blackman and Xavier Benjamin on trial for us this week. Both featured in a behind closed doors friendly v Huddersfield

Don’t know much about either, other than Blackman appears to be the rare commodity of an injury prone keeper

Jamal Blackman would be decent but he's one of those who has a very high opinion of his ability. In previous years he seemed to always be looking to move to bigger and better things, so interesting to see him now scrabbling around on trial.

Rekeil Pyke is a close second
Highlight of his loan spell at Rochdale a few years ago was shouting "Don't tell him your name, Pyke" when he picked up a yellow for a late challenge on the opposing full back. The linesman just about kept a straight face...

‘What are you doing’?
“Just checking to see if i’m standing on plastic”
