Is Dean Cox likely to be with you next season?
Unless someone comes in with around £500k then yes, he is by far our best player and too good for this level. The amount of goals, assists & times he has got us out of the shit in the last 5 seasons means we value him highly. He has 2 years left on his contract, he will only got for silly money. He earns £5k a week as well, but so so so much better than the other 4 I mentioned above.

Dagenham fans have been raving about Doe. Why is he signing for Mansfield?

He is a good player. I think he'll be a quality midfielder at this level and will be one of the top midfielders. Not sure about top 3 but definitely up there.
I certainly wouldn't make any bold predictions like 'Lines is definitely amongst the 3 best midfielders' - I don't think it's sensible to say that about any player to be honest - but at his best he will definitely be one of the best. He played in the Conference out of choice to help get his boyhood club promoted and was only out the team at L1 Port Vale because of a silly suspension that gave another player the opportunity to play in his place, which he took.

I love the fact he wanted to come back and help us get over the line with an instant return to the FL as it says all you need to know about how much he wants to be at the club. For far too long we have had players picking up very healthy wages who have neither deserved nor cared about giving Rovers their very best every week, so it's great to know we will have a man in midfield who is representing the fans.

DavieJones, I know you said what you did to play down the suggestion from elsewhere that he will be one of the best players in the division, but he is a very good player and will thrive alongside two combative midfielders like Lee Mansell and Stuart Sinclair. I think he will do really well for us once again.

There's rumours flying around we will have a grass on our pitch for the new season and we will no longer have to notify the aviation authority every time we have a home game.

I'm sure he'll do well but to say he'll definitely be one of the best 3 in the league is massively underestimating the step from the Conference to League 2.

Don't lie, you haven't discovered aircraft in Mansfield yet.

Reuben Reid to Orient mentioned on our forum, no idea of how credible that is.

Although only in recent years we have. In fact it must have been around the time the below banner was flown through the skies during a game at Meadow Lane.

I seriously hope there is nothing in the talk of Chris Samuelson being involved in a takeover bid. After hearing from Reading fans what happened with you, we're better off well clear.

The club have issued a statement to deny we are close to being taken over, but reading between the lines it seems as though there may be a couple of things in the pipeline. A takeover wouldn't be agreed, or announced, before the court verdict over our new stadium has been announced, for obvious reasons, but I do think things are being discussed behind the scenes.

He absolutely ruined our club, so I wouldn't wish the same upon you.

Thing is he only played 8 games in the Conference but had played over 60 games in the Third Div last couple of years. So for him personally its not really a step up but more of a step down.

Superb business by us, in my view, to get £180,000 for Mark Cullen. Been a highly successful window for us so far and long may it continue. Very limited striker who threw his toys out the pram in January and burnt his bridges. Not bothered to see him go at all.

Other winger Sanchez Watt?

His name cropped up in our rumour swamp a few weeks back. A few of the other names being mentioned here (e.g. Scott Doe) have also been associated with us. Probably offers and counter-offers going on which should start being settled this week now contracts are up.

Could be up to 3 in at Luton today before we fly to Portugal for a pre-season training camp. Few names floating around.. Danny Green, Scott Doe, CMS, Magnus Okuonghae.. I literally have no idea though.

Definitely not CMS per one of only two reliably ITK Luton fans on the web. Danny Green seems to be the most popular rumour.

Also sounds like our business won't quite be done even if we announce all three today. A little surprised to be honest as I thought we were nearly there with the squad rebuild, I wonder if this means one or two more might be quietly on the way out (Drury?).

Our 6 ft 9 goalkeeper Jason Mooney is confirmed as off to Stanley.

It didn't work out for him with us, but he's certainly got the physical attributes and I think there's a decent keeper in there. He never got back in our first team having been subbed off at half-time against Cambridge, and it might be that confidence is an issue.

From what I can tell, the Scott Doe rumour has come about after pure guesswork when someone said there was a player with their agent at training yesterday. Then some Stags fan for some reason decided it would be "top bants" to edit his Wiki page to say he'd signed for us. This was squashed when the bloke who runs our message outed it as being someone who posts on there.

So basically I'm not expecting him to sign, I like the Daggers fans cannot see why he would chose us other them unless we're paying more in wages than I think.

Lee Angol has officially rejected our contract offer to him so he'll be off somewhere. I still don't really understand the point of giving him only a year and then letting him go to Borehamwood for the entirety of that year. I think it was widely regarded he would be a top player in that league so not sure what logic was there as we must have forseen him having a decent year and getting his head turned/other clubs looking to get a promising youngsters on the cheap.

A little disappointed as he seems an up and coming young player but given last seasons failure of players from that level you just don't know how they'll transition.

We've signed Ryan Dickson from Crawley for a nominal fee, very happy with that, he was Crawley's player of the year last year, and it means that we don't have to play Nathan Smith anymore.

Meh. I'm yet to see a positive report from anyone who has actually seen him play really, opinions seem universally negative of his ability to step up and that's going back to before Christmas so not just a sour grapes thing.

Whatever happens, the transfer didn't cost us a single penny apparently as Boreham Wood covered his wages, and now we are guaranteed a fee for him. The squad is getting stronger all the time and we are actually making a handsome profit on transfer fees over the last 12 months or so, we're obviously doing something right.

I didn't even notice they were all ex-Daggers!! You're right though, the Luton Town rumour idiots are so unimaginative it pains me. Follow certain rules every time. Previous loanee here (Lee, Mawson etc) played under JS before (4 I just mentioned) or someone we tried to sign before (Tubbs)

We'll see what happens though, expect lots of business from most clubs both in and out over next week or so as contracts end and some players begin to get squeaky without a deal anywhere
