Vale Park is alright, low roof so easy to make a great atmosphere if a decent number in the away end and is a proper ground rather than a Lego box. Has all the mod cons in the Lorne Street with the exec boxes and suites too.

The away end is a bit shallow mind and the stands are set back a bit (from its original design based on the Wembley of the North in 1950)

Plenty of pubs locally as an away day though compared to being on a Tesco Car Park like some grounds.

The general feel about the club at the minute amongst fans is the worst it's been under PP's tenure. It's more than I thought would turn up. Shite away day. Shite ground and away end - and we've a poor record down their. Conceeding last minute goals has become a bit of a trait.

Averaging 1,500 away tells you all you need to know about how below par the following was. No need to bring up the home average, really. I know our away average will never been as gods as yours, Bury and Dale etc because we're not above the 10% home to away ratio, but we try.

Its a brilliant away end

Take it that's directed at us?
CFC is better located than some of the recent new stadiums. At least there's plenty around it if you're prepared to research it, not like some stadiums.

Have you been?
Plenty of pubs within 10 mins walk of the away end, at least 15 pubs inc 3 quality real ale ones, along with 2 bookies and plenty of fast food, chippies & take-away's.
A town centre not to far away with some decent pubs and real ale establishments.

It was aimed at generic industrial estate new grounds not yours specifically which I've been to a few times and is better located than most new grounds.

The only thing which lets it down is that its around a 20 minute walk from the train station.
They've also completed the pedestrian path near the train station which follows the A61 dual carriageway to the Casa Hotel. This makes it even more accessible on foot from the train station and quicker.

Poor from Bradford yesterday considering they get 18k at home to only bring just over 600, silent too in the main.

Millwall and Coventry was decent.

I think you mean very good. Worst away day ever and we have to play you every season it's not surprising there was only 600 there, which is slightly better than the 100 or so you usually bring to VP. I agree we were pretty quiet but at least made some noise unlike the home ends which didn't chant once, Port Vale = awful support.

I thought Bradford fans were saying Gills was the worst away day only a few weeks ago? I agree Vale Park is hardly enticing, but have some consistency chaps.

Hardly surprising when it was absolutely pissing it down when we played you, Vale is slightly worse though. Gillingham, Port Vale and Swindon the worst 3 away days in League One, I haven't been to Blackpool yet so that could be added to the list but doubt it can be any worse.

Port vale is the best away end in the league and also a proper intimidating good day out its what footballs all about.

Barely heard a peep from you to be fair.

We bought 500 to you earlier in the season... Hardly 100 but we don't have a pool of 18000 fans to muster 600 from.

Common pattern from Bradford fans:
1, Never mention home v away percentages as apparently that does not matter - possibly as it works against them
2, Small followings means it was a poor away ground or a poor away end - Not it was just a small following as that wouldn't be right
3, Below what they estimated numbers wise, means the home fans lie about the away following - Not it was smaller than they think as this wouldn't be right

Bradford City v The establishment???

What are Port Vale looking to bring to Wigan next week? The club had estimates of 1000-1200 which would be pretty good. Do you think them numbers are realistic?

Sorry, what?

(i) Home v away % is one way (albeit flawed) of looking at attendances, but I don't see you giving Sheff Utd shit about it - yet their % is only a small amount above ours. That's not having a go at Blades BTW. I'd suggest a c1500 average away support to date in this league is good, even if there is a northern bias to it this season. Do you disagree? Should we be taking 3k everywhere we go, despite sitting in mid table?

(ii) Where have any of us said (on a regular basis, as you're implying) that any of our smaller followings have been specifically due to it being a rubbish away day? There's one comment above re our following at Vale that sort of supports your point, where are all the others? Even Firthy called it ahead of the game that our support yesterday would be poor (and he used that word or something similar).

(iii) Pretty sure it's just Firthy who says that, which I think you know. I don't pay it much attention - though it was interesting to see that he got castigated for suggesting Oldham undercooked our following to them earlier this season, but then someone else said it for their club (can't remember who) sometime later and it was deemed a reasonable challenge? Plus - your criticism of us here is massively hypocritical given your lot suggested we under reported your following to VP (which we didn't).

Seriously, give the sweeping generalisations a rest and find something else to invent an argument against.

Possibly about right, our away form has been dreadful otherwise would expect more as it's the type of game we'd usually take 1500 plus too in recent seasons being fairly easy to get to and a first visit in a decade or so.
Hard to tell though we've taken 1500 to Sheff United one season and 500 the next!

498 this season we took to your lovely ground, 160 odd less considering we get 12'000 less home gates. Only noise Bradfud made was the usual ' everywhere we go ' tedium all 92 sing . We didn,t sing once and never do . 3 Worsts from touchy Bradfud, 1 : Following 2 : Vocal support 3 : Team absolute dire ( says nothing for us either ) .

Don't think any of us have been suggesting we've been anything but off it recently in terms of team performances. 'Dire' is perhaps a bit harsh though.

Yes, you brought 160 less - in August, when you were unbeaten and if I remember rightly your fans suggesting at the time you were playing great football.

Bit different comparing that to now, where we've not been doing great and sit firmly in mid table. Agreed that 600 is well below what we might have brought and is poor for us, but I've said it before that our support significantly fluctuates, based on form. Our form isn't good ergo our following wasn't great.

I suppose we can all pull out circumstances affecting away followings. Our game at your place was 3 days after we took nearly 3,000 to West Brom. A lot of people would have made a choice on one of those games, they chose West Brom. No criticism from me about the 600 to us though. I think it's an average following for a mid table side, just after xmas at a club you've played every year since the 1800's. Under the right circumstances you'd bring a fair few more than that, and had it been a Tuesday night match, which was the case for a few years on the bounce it would have been around 300 odd.

The argument about away followings as a percentage of home fans works to an extent, however there is a slight flaw which affects clubs like Coventry, Sheff U and a few others. If they sell out away followings, it caps their away average. You can only sell the number of tickets provided, like when we always sell out at Crewe ;-)

Would of took over 2k easy if we were any good away from home and weren't guaranteed to lose.

Remember going to this match at Springfield Park. Took a few thousand that day. What a goal from Bernie Slaven.

Incredibly bitter post.

You could have saved yourself some time, and just wrote "Your mum".

Surely Bradford must be up there with one of the worst places to visit?

I'm surprised you haven't included it in your list.
