I'll do it sometime in the next week. Few cans and the football now.

Agree, we should get more credit for having a better average than teams with 100 years longer to build a fanbase.

You've built your fanbase up at home though, which makes your away followings even worse

In what way? It takes longer to build an away fanbase than a home one. Plus our away average has gone up by about 300 since we started and 100 or so up on last season...

I don't see why it should take longer to build an away fanbase, at the end of the day if you can attract 10k for a big game at home you've showed the support is there. So likewise I would expect more fans turn out at away games. I know your average has gone up but at the same time so has your league position, so it's hard to tell if it's genuinely growing. Despite that I actually think your away support is very good vocally, going by both visits to Ashton Gate in the last 2 seasons

Great work Craig, but to be a pedant surely our closest would be Sheff Utd?

Edit: 34.2 mile round trip according to google maps.

Our away support is embarrassing but I don't even care. Apparently someone said we have only sold 400 for Coventry so far hahaha

MK Dons are bribing us to go (for the third time this season) with 2 for £25 tickets and including pies and drinks ;)

I'd rather be among a few hundred diehards watching us win most weeks than among an average of 1000+ witnessing us lose our 8th away game in a row, which is what will most likely happen on Tuesday at Scunny.

True, but you don't have a 2K2COV campaign set up by a fan. One of our closest away games and it's only a week away... At this rate well be lucky at take just over 1000.... Very poor.

It's gonna be embarrassing when our fans applaud Baker every time he touches the ball when we play you.

Our fans covered David Nugent in semen when he made his return to Deepdale with Portsmouth.

hahahahaha! I was away for that game and I'm quite glad, as much as I love him I wouldn't have wanted to witness that

That's the main concern I have. When Baker left, our fans created Carl Baker day. It was like he died.

The attendances are now that low, that any recognition for ex players would be unheard by those on the pitch. McSheffery probably didn't hear a clap.

I was very frustrated when Baker left especially as we haven't replaced him.

Back on topic, I think for many clubs in general away attendances are way down (apropos of nothing).

In 95/96 season when we won old money div 3 I can remember us taking massive support all over the country including northern outposts like Stockport, Blackpool, Hull and I'm pretty sure we had over 1k at Carlisle. There is definitely more of an apathy about going to football these days I reckon.

As Jose said on t'other page, I've been keeping a table/spreadsheet with all the away attendances on for another forum but am more than happy to post it on here as well. I update it when I can be arsed, but no more than a couple of days after the fixtures.

I've offered to run it and compiled the data, I'll be doing it but feel free to post your table as well
