Of course they'll sell, very quickly.

Towards the end of the season, home numbers at Bramall Lane will be 24K plus.

So even if only a modest 25% of our home support wish to go to Port Vale, that's still a 6K demand.

25% is a conservative figure, we played Scunthorpe the other week and they brought 80% of their home support to Bramall Lane, so relatively speaking Sheff Utd taking nearly 5K to Port Vale during a promotion run in isn't anything special.
If its sold out as quickly as you say it will then go in the home ends as there will be 12000 empty seats in there spread over 4 other stands.

Or just buy a ticket in the away end, that's generally the idea when were the away team

Vale and Oldham will be quality. Remember Vale one Tuesday night in 80's. We brought 7k in a 3-3 game.

Oldham will still be sell out if moved to Tuesday but forecast from Thursday is nice and sunny!
Ruin Manchester before though !!
Not having 7k.. i remember that night well, back then we played on Monday evenings, can't recall us ever allocating 7k even to our obese lard friends 5 miles down the road.
Would imagine it was 5k maximum.
Brian Deane scored after an horrific backpass, we were 3-1 up with barely minutes to go.
Either way Blades could bring 10k this season if promotion was on that game, however antiquated and dumpish our ground now is at least the allocation is decent, imagine clinching promotion at Fleetwood, it would be carnage

Ps embarrasing comments Andy Procter , no need no need

We sold out Rochdale and Wycombe easily to win promotion four years back (in fact Wycombe did give us a home stand and a beer tent great hosts!)

Didn't we take 5-6000 to Brighton in 94...

I'd imagine if promotion is on the cards the Blades could sell 10k easily. We used to offer a home end in the past for occasions like that (Wolves once) but policing now would never allow it because of the access to the far end of the stadium... although if we had finished the Lorne Street we could easily have given them that half!

Hopefully we are as good as safe by then and its a good occasion remembered for the right reasons.

Quality away end at vale park. You mention Fleetwood but there is every chance we will clinch it at northampton and we only have 1400 tickets there so many will miss out on it. But that's life were in league one so can't be expecting thousands everywhere.

All but sold out for Scunny on Sunday. Lunch time kick-off on SKY.

Tickets on sale vs Sheff Utd, but no confirmation on what we have been allocated, yet. We understand it's likely to be 2,300-2,500 tickets, when we could quite easily fetch 4,000+.

Bury, what do you now allocate? Can we have both ends like last year?

Looking forward to Rochdale on the last day, also.

Only the same as us at yours this year. We probably could of sold 4k for that but 2.5k or 2.7k at yours is still a pretty fair allocation anyway. Especially as in both grounds your home end was nearly full as ours will be on Easter Monday. You get 3.2k at bury behind 1 goal and the side.

This is the 3-3 game. You definitely didn't have 7,000 there that night I remember it well. Only a handful of teams have been given 7,000 tickets, which used to mean giving them half of the lorne street standing section. Stoke, Man City, Wolves, Wednesday and Everton have done it in the years I've been following Vale since 85, no one else. Wolves were given the Bycars in 2000 after the lorne street standing had been knocked down. We were already relegated and at the time that the decision was made to give it to Wolves, they still had a chance to make the automatic spots in the Championship. By the time the game came around they were guaranteed a play off spot but couldn't make the last auto one, so only a couple of hundred Wolves went in there. Remember it kicked off at the end with Vale lads getting to them from the back of the Railway.

Like I said before, the only way nowadays we could give more than 4,500 would be if we gave the Bycars as well, or we moved all away fans to the Railway paddock. The bycars seems more likely given we've done it in the past and hardly anyone goes in it these days, that would give you an allocation of about 8.5/9,000. If you had the paddock, less likely as it's our most popular stand (god knows why it's s**t and generates no noise) then you'd have around 7,000.

Financially it makes sense, hence why Wycombe did it for us... imagine the extra 3000 ticket money if 2500 are adults at £22 its 55k before kids etc.

Issue is the policing cost will likely outweigh it which is a shame.

To be honest I think the policing cost is going to be huge anyway. All the more reason get as many away fans in as possible for me. If they sell out the 4.5k quickly and the demand is still there, there'll be a huge risk of their fans getting into the Vale end, especially if we keep the cash turnstiles open. Accommodating as many of them as possible will reduce the risk of disorder by containing them to areas we can control. If Smurf could then stock up on food and drink etc (no alcohol can be served in the Bycars, Utd fans as the kiosk is within sight of the pitch) then we could make a good profit from the day. Hopefully by then we'll be safe, so forfeiting the crowd advantage (which wouldn't be much anyway given current attendances) won't be such a big issue.

Scunny sold out. Haven't been given any of the side which is a shame. Maybe they'll change their mind, it's not till mid-April.

They never gave it us for the 1st time ever too. I'm guessing Bradford haven't got it either on Sunday.

3,700 Rovers sold for Coventry on Saturday. Fair play that is an excellent following, easily looking at 4k+ now.

All from last night can fit in there then :2thumb:

Thought it was a good effort last night considering it was midweek and on the box.

Gillingham away last Tuesday, and Southend away midweek in a fortnight. Some miles being put in by supporters!
