Interesting a few have Cov in there. Have they been 4th tier before?

Still plenty of time to go, I don't think the current bottom four will stay the same at all though. I'm certain Crawley and Yeovil will go down though, can see Colchester surviving and Orient I'm unsure. Freefalling sides could easily fall into this.

I think I am missing something with yours and Donny fans hatred for Saunders.

When he left you weren't you top of the league? Plus I swear you had like a massive banner of Saunders calling him like the Messiah which just sat in the corner of the Keepmoat.

4 or 5 weeks ago you would have sworn our whipping boys the gills were relegation fodder.... Look how they are going now.
Things can still change pretty quickly top and bottom in this pretty tight league..... Really fear for Yeovil now... Would say they need a good back room clear out with their new manager also

I think at least one team will fall from midtable, shock everyone and go down, maybe a Rochdale, Walsall, Vale or Notts.

Agree, there's too much to change yet to call it. I think Yeovil will go though; they've played the most games, they're the furthest adrift and they seem to have the hardest run-in having already played all of the bottom eight at home.

We go from looking abysmal to looking alright. We absolutely annihilated Gillingham on Boxing Day and yet lost, when a win would have taken us above them. If you'd have told me at that time that Gillingham would now be two off the play-offs and looking well out of sight I would not have believed you.

A couple of results and it all changes. We have another hard week or so coming up with MK, Bristol City and Doncaster, and I suspected we could have been adrift by then. But we pulled a result out yesterday and if we can keep in touch after Doncaster, we then play Notts County, Rochdale, Crawley and Yeovil in a row which could be a really important run.

I think a bit of confidence would do wonders - we haven't won back-to-back games all season but I can't help thinking that if we do we could easily go on a bit of a run like Crewe or Gills have, the margins have generally been so fine between looking on top and set for a decent victory and going behind with dropped heads and looking woeful. I guess that comes with a young team.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more teams dragged into it like Notts or maybe Rochdale. Long way to go.

We should have the four wins in our locker to stay up. It's took Crewe 100 odd years to get six points out of us so wouldnt expect it next season.

It's crazy how Rochdale and Crewe are on the same points yet Rochdale's goal difference is +10 and Crewe's is -20

Can't argue with us finishing last for the second season running. It's all down to the chopping and changing of our team. We've used 24 different players already. In 2014 we used 44 different players in the 46 league games we played - tantamount to a player making his debut every game for a whole year. Ridiculous.

It's not really interesting, it's just a fact. We're one of the worst teams in this league, it's hardly a surprise. We were down there for a season in the 50's. This isn't even the worst of it. Conference within 5 years.

Claridge was right on the FLS, when we lose, we usually lose big, but we struggle to win big. We've won 2 games with a 2 goal margin, 9 with a one goal margin. But we've lost games 6-1, 5-0, 3-0 x 2, 5-2 and 4-1, plus 2 2-0s.

We haven't scored 4 goals in a league game for 3 years as well. I sense it'll change at some point this season though.

Your club is clearly in a bit of a mess at the moment but if you go down, you won't drop any further than that.

We will. SISU show no intention of leaving, fans can't be arsed anymore and the manager is incompetent, as well as being on a 4 year deal. Plus we have no chance of ever owning our own ground so that's our revenues in the shit as well.

It's bad, but despite all that, if you went down you would easily attract good players at that level. Things look bleak for you like they did for us 12 months ago. On the pitch we looked absolutely fucked, 33 games gone, 22nd and the 10 teams above us had game/s in hand and we'd just lost 3-0 to Sheff Utd in the most gutless performance many fans have ever witnessed. Then out of nowhere, results picked up. It can happen

He sent us down with our worst points total ever in the Championship then fooked off after a tiny bit of success. Him and his fookwit of an assistant enjoyed abusing us fans when we held a 'Saunders out' banner after another trashing away. We wouldn't have gone up if he'd have stayed in charge. I've never seen this massive banner, the only banners I ever saw were ones calling for his disgraceful face to be burnt.

Pompey are in their second relegation battle on the trot so this is bull.

Thought the Pompey situation would get brought up. They've underperformed, but they won't go down. Plus they aren't really in a relegation battle this season. 7 points clear with a game in hand. And even despite underperforming, they've still been able to pick up players like Matt Tubbs ahead of better performing sides, because they're still the biggest club in the league

You have signifcant backing from a rich owner though, something we severely lack. You were always going to be stable in this league, we won't be in League Two.

Didn't even realise he was the manager when you went down, that was something to do with the stupid agent though wasn't it?

Yeah but Saunders didn't help. Constantly going on about how much of a unit his 51 FIFTY ONE man squad were when the majority of them didn't even live in the country and just flew on a Friday night from France for the game, constantly praising Mckay (the agent). And then with four games left and us needing 12 points to even have a chance to stay up he said he still thought we'd do it! Dickov may be shit but at least he isn't a blatant liar.

Hilarious thread from the Wolves forum.

EDIT: A Donny fan posted on their forum about some of the quotes he made during our relegation season 11-12.

I’m so excited by this challenge

There are all sorts of things wrong with the club that I can put right

I know what is needed with the team. I know what our faults are

I know I can get a winning team on the pitch

We have got nothing to fear in this league. We have matched every team we have played

I hadn’t gone 19 games without a win so my mind was quite clear and I was positive about winning. That’s why sometimes a new manager has an effect on players

I don’t have to be scrambling around like a lunatic trying to get loads of players in, I can have a look at what we’ve got and obviously winning stops the panic

My job is to change the personnel and get people in who can do their jobs properly at this level. There are players at this club who have scars from losing so many games

I think Billy will be staying with us until the end of the season - at least I am hoping he will. He’s not going to any of the clubs who have come in for him at the moment

I’m confident we can go anywhere and get a result

We have to make the Keepmoat more of a fortress. It is something we are working on and luckily we have got a lot of games left in the season to put it right

We are four points behind with a game in hand; it is a miles better position than we were in six months ago

I believe we can bounce back and, normally, you would get a reaction to a defeat and I believe that’s what will happen here

Looking back we should have won the last nine games

We will win games but only if they have the drive and determination and if they had packed in I would have been worried but they didn’t so we are getting there

We are in desperate trouble at the bottom of the league and if I can get them in and we can get out of the trouble we are in, and then they move on, that’s all I’m concerned about; not getting relegated

We have got a problem; we are in a relegation battle. Perhaps those results papered over the cracks

We have got eight games left and if we won them all, we would end up with 50 odd points. There is no reason why we can’t win them all

Seven points is retrievable; we have games in hand. We’ve got to win games; it’s as simple as that

If we pick up three points on Saturday it is better than two draws

I quite enjoy being under pressure. There is nothing worse than just floating half way up the league

We need to win six of our last games if we’re going to stay up. We could have been halfway up the table if we’d had a bit of luck

I can’t keep going over the same things with the same players. In the end you have to do something about it as a manager

If I was a Rovers fan, I would be devastated - but all is not lost. Have a look at the table and you can see we can still do it.

If we win all our remaining games that gives us 15 points and who is to say the teams above us are going to win?

We have hit a bad run of results at the wrong time

It is not easy to keep morale up but that’s my job. I have to use my experience and get us over the finishing line

If you don’t score in the Championship, you end up in League One eventually

If we keep defending like that, we will be in League One

I don’t want to get into trouble with the referees, and I don’t normally criticise them

I thought nearly every decision went against us

It sounds like I am making excuses

This is a challenge and we have to keep going. I know what I need to. I have not been able to do it so far

I’m learning in this job all the time, learning something every week and, for a start, it’s about getting our house in order

Sometimes if you have to take a step back to go forward, that’s what you have to do. Unless I get my hands tied behind my back where I can’t do what I want to do, I will be ready and looking forward to pre-season

Yeah I get that your off the pitch problems are far worse mate, which is obviously something we were never took concerned about last season (we were all however bemused at the fact we might end up in the 4th tier, despite having a billionaire owner), but still if you go down I really can't see you going into the Conference. Despite your problems this season you've still been able to attract a decent calibre of player; Nouble, Jackson, O'Brien, Reda. You'll probably tell me that they've all been shite which they probably have been, but they all came in with a decent reputation, most at Championship level. If you go down you'll be the club players want to join in that league, along with Pompey. I hope you stay up anyway, your fans have took enough shit already.
