Dean Saunders was a pundit when Cardiff played Swansea last season. He called it ' the biggest game ever' a fair few times. And he wasn't even talking about the biggest Cardiff-Swansea game ever, he genuinely meant the biggest game in the history of football :fl:

What a crazy league, we are down to 16th now, yet if we win just one of our current games in hand we would be 9th. Not as worried as I was, probably a knee jerk reaction in some ways. We do need to sort our defensive problems out though.

JJ1532 - now we're getting towards the business end of the season, will you be doing the same sort of weekly update you used to do on another forum?
Will be much appreciated (by me anyway) if you could.

You'll change your mind on Saturday.
You could all leave us alone on the pitch and we still couldn't score. Armand was improving in a team with Doyle in it, now he's hopeless, and we've not scored a goal for ourselves this month. Don't know what the point of buying Harrison and Manny was, and I can't remember the last time we had a loan striker score - Leon Clarke maybe? Just don't push us over and your clean sheet is safe.

The Doyle money such as it was is all going to end up making up the shortfall in attendances when they fall through the floor when we lose again Saturday. Uncle Dave must be livid. Cookie not much less so.

Guarantee we will not keep a clean sheet.

Difficult to see where the next goal's coming from and the defence is in great disarray. Hope it doesn't come to that but I think we'll be bottom half by the weekend ....

I'd be amazed if we didn't have enough to stay up, think we just need to grab a win or two soonish to settle the nerves but we've proved ourselves too able to shithouse lucky wins. Just need things to turn a bit, Chesterfield's ridiculous goal and then Sheff Utd's winner etc... - we've got enough though, the team is uninspiring but they're capable of being competent and picking up tough points. I can confidently say we're not among the worst 4 teams in the division.

I am pretty sure on Ye Olde TFF Notts breifly participated in the "promotion" thread, this now means we have been in them all!
Yeah I think we will be fine, we have enough in depth in the squad to get the 12 or so points needed its just now we are falling into this area the nerves start jangling!

12 points off and get relegated is a shit show not even Notts could direct.

We will be ok, just need a bit of luck and we should win 4 games between now and end of the season.

Surely saviour Jimmy Spencer can't be too far from coming back now?

Having seen his training videos I can't see how he's still 3 months away still. He's back running and even kicking a ball. Probably won't be back till the end but he'll play a part...unless we're being extra cautious and have nothing to play for

Although results have been helpful the last couple of days, I find it difficult to see us capitalising.
Next - Swinedon (a) then
Blades (h)
Bradford (a) then the easiest
Bristol City (h)
If we're still near 20th after those games I'll be highly delighted.

We've got a solid few weeks coming up, if we get injuries, don't get Bradshaw and Forde back to fitness then we are deep in the shit.

I have actually given up. We've lost ten, yes TEN home games this season, winning two and drawing three.

The club record is 12 home losses in a season. Oh dear :fish:

The sad thing is, if we sacked Liverani and brought in either Gary Johnson or Danny Wilson we'd probably have half a chance. They're not great managers, but at least they know League One FFS.

Danny's Wilson's heart won't be in a relegation battle. It certainly wasn't last season anyway.

We're still not safe yet. Need a huge 3 points tomorrow in Barnsley to really push us up into the safe confines of mid-table.
Yeovil remind me of a carbon copy of Shrewsbury last year, far too many loans, awful strikers, club legend manager departs just over halfway through the season, former Alex striker who can't score goals starting regularly (Ajay as opposed to Miller) so I can't see them staying up at all.
Crawley look knackered for money and I think just don't have the squad to stay up.
Orient are very enigmatic, absolutely dogger at home yet away they pick up a result or two, they'll probably beat us at Gresty Road as well given we never beat them. Just their home form will probably relegate them.
Colchester always stay up and reckon they'll be the side that goes on a run of the four, decent squad and gave us a decent game two weeks ago.
Coventry for me look in terminal decline and will go down, even if they were to do just about enough this season they'll be worse off next year.
And if Barnsley get Paolo Di Canio in, then it's either a miraculous run to the playoffs or a nailed on relegation. There's no in between with Paolo.

I agree and can honestly say I would rather go down this year than having to spend another season here resulting in relegation.

Praying to God SISU fuck off if we go down, but they won't.

We begun what pretty much all of our fans saw as a "winnable" run of games against Fleetwood last Tuesday, followed by Crawley, Crewe, Scunthorpe, Gillingham, Coventry and Walsall before it gets tough again with Preston, Bristol City and Sheff United after that. We've already lost the first two of that run. If we fail to pick up at least 7 points from those 5 remaining "winnable" fixtures, then we are in serious trouble. If we go down again having spent what we've spent on transfers/wages I think I'll burn Oakwell to the ground, if someone else doesn't get there before me.

We have lost 9 so we're not far off!
Luckily our away form is ok, albeit under a bit of strain recently hence our drop down the league.

We have also lost ten times at home this season haha, woeful. If you go back further, we have lost 31 of the last 61 home league games, no wonder people don't come back very often when 95% of supporters only see the home games.

Colchester always stay up and reckon they'll be the side that goes on a run of the four, decent squad and gave us a decent game two weeks ago.

I still think we have a decent run in us. Everyone seems to have strung a little run together at some point, and we have some nicer fixtures coming up in March and April where I think it will be our turn. If we're still in touching distance of 20th, say, by the time that comes around then I don't think we'll be in too bad a position.

Do need to start winning those home games though, especially against the teams around us.

Jesus! We've been awful at home for 14 years now, we always lose 6+ even last season when we finished 3rd we still lost 6 at home.

Our away record of 5,5,5 is fine. Just shows that the bigger picture is our awful home form, I still blame our stupid owners, even though they have managed to increase our crowd average to 5000-5500 by giving away loads of free tickets to local youngsters and schools, I mean who would want to come back and watch us right now?!

Yes, we're in very similar situations this season with nigh on identical home and away records. I just hope the home form picks up as we have a few big home games coming up against teams around us. The only team in the bottom half we have beaten at home so far is you, so thanks for that ;)
