FC Halifax are also rank tinpotters

Halifax Town have a long football league history and I for one would love to see league football return to the town.

Unlike Huddersfield and dirty Leeds, a local club who the majority of Bantams welcome and show no animosity toward

Gillingham supporters - who are the seven contracted players Harris says he will dump en masse?

We don’t know for sure, mostly youngsters with maybe 2 or possibly 3 from the first team squad. He doesn’t want to keep all of the 7.

He said he might like to keep a couple of the out of contract players, but it’ll depend on whether they want to leave.

Huge rebuild needed.

AFC Halifax 2008 are 14 years old, the other club died, as per the rules and regs of the Natural Order, they are tinpotters.
Good can we class Leeds as tinpotters please? After all they reformed as well from Leeds City.

That was 103 years ago, and since then Leeds United have spent many a year in the Football League and have even won it on a few occasions. Unfortunately for them this means they have lost their tinpot status.

AFC Halifax or whatever they’re called were only formed in 2008 and have yet to play in the Football League so have the honour of still being tinpot

So football league status is what they need to rid themselves of tinpot status? If the get to the football league they’ll be able to attract more fans than a fair few clubs currently littering the league.

I get what you are saying, however, the 'new club' was re-formed immediately by the same directors. There are clubs currently in the football league who are still far more 'tin pot' than Halifax, one of whom missed out on their chance to get into the league 2 play offs today, now that is a 'tin pot' club

Heh. Fuck Salford.

In the Natty, Stockpot took a huge step towards promotion by defeating Chesterfield whilst Wrexham could only draw at 10-man Boring Wood. Plucky newcomers AFC Halifax still have faint hopes of the title, though they’ll need some help from both Torquay and Wrexham before they play Stockpot on the final day of the season. Torquay themselves were ruled out of contention by only drawing at Frankenstein FC, whilst there will be no joyful reunion of Sarf Lahndahn tinpot nonentities Bromley and Sutton next year as the former were thumped at playoff-champs-in-waiting Solihell Motors.

Long time member, haven't posted in ages for many reasons. Figured now is as good a time as any to come back for a fun new season back in the 4th tier for the first time in a decade.

Things changed much round here? And what, if it's not too rude a question, is a Harrogate?

Did you go Saturday? Saw some YouTube footage / looked a lot of trouble with Rotherham fans who by the look of it caused it by been pissed up and invading the pitch many times. Fighting in the centre circle too.

A Harrogate is a grassy area looked after by the owners son located near Betty's tea Room

Nah I scout for a National League side so I'm busy most Saturdays doing that.

From what I can tell from those who were there though was similar to as you say - Rotherham fans on the pitch several times during the course of the afternoon, and for them to run en masse towards the home end when we'd just been relegated was only inciting our nobheads to retaliate. No-one wants to see a scrap involving fans on the pitch, and we do have a fair selection of mentally challenged idiots, but on this occasion I think it's fairly obvious to see who the antagonists of the situation were.

Sounds alright tbh.
It's a really nice day out if you don't go to the football ground. Just spend the afternoon in the tea room and have a walk around. Perfect.

That was my mistake. Should have stayed in the Harrogate Tap. The team too.

I kinda assumed Stockport had got the conference won as they were miles clear only a brief time ago. Bit of a surprise therefore to see them fall behind Wrexham now. Still think they should do it but would be an all timer in chokejobs if they came up short.”

Harrogate are an unsustainable non entity, where the owner sponsors his son playing real life Football Manager.

it's going to be a nice Geographically Northern league next season if we get Stockport and anyone but D+R/Boreham Wood coming up. Especially if Swindon leave us...

Is there any hope of Notts not being themselves for once and putting a run together? They seem to find even worse ways of shooting themselves in the foot than Vale.

Would love that away day back if we stay down.

Don’t see the love in with halifax, the place is dump, their fans always cause trouble, just no.

Though should we stay down one of wrexham or stockport is close by clearly going to be one of them. any other northern team apart from chesterfield would be desirable.

When was the last time you went out in Halifax? I went there at Christmas and it was the first time in donkeys years and have to say lots of decent pubs and bars around there now what’s not to like? Even if you hate the place you can always make a day of it and go to Leeds before hand as most who go to Mansfield away go to Nottingham before. Wrexham is in the arse end of nowhere and they’ll out spend us all, couldn’t think of a worse team to come up tbh. Halifax or Notts County for me.

Would prefer it if Wrexham didn’t come up too. Mainly due to the fact especially when we go there it is almost guaranteed to kick off.

I know this will put me in a minority of one but the other one apart from Notts I wouldn’t mind too much would be Solihull. If only as can have a few beers in Birmingham.

Well i’m hardly far, i was there in october, there’s nothing special to it and as said everytime we play mansfield they cause trouble, we’ve been in a pub before when they’ve had fans in ski masks for gods sake.

Ok to always give a place a chance - like bradford - that unfairly in my view has a bad rep and i really enjoy it when we play you - the bars from the town centre upto the ground are lovely, it’s got a lot going for it.

halifax is a no sale though i’m afraid

Can’t comment on their fans as I’ve not been to a football match there, a fair few Bradfordians funny enough prefer Halifax now than Bradford, probably as the bars are all closer together and less of the centre is closed down. There’s some okay places in Bradford but it gets worse by the year unfortunately.

The League feels non league enough without Solihull adding to it haha, although it has more appeal than Wrexham imo. I wouldn’t be bothered about Wrexham but they’ll automatically put every club at this level at a disadvantage and they’ll bring the same sort of tv circus that Salford do. They’re the last team I want to come up. Would be good to see Stockport and Notts County come back up, two decent former football league clubs.
