I'm in a bind over Wrexham. A very good friend supports them and they have really served their sentence, but you just know if they go up BBC Wales will be all over them in a suck-up to North Wales and coverage of Newport will slip further.

Well i’m hardly far, i was there in october, there’s nothing special to it and as said everytime we play mansfield they cause trouble, we’ve been in a pub before when they’ve had fans in ski masks for gods sake.

Ok to always give a place a chance - like bradford - that unfairly in my view has a bad rep and i really enjoy it when we play you - the bars from the town centre upto the ground are lovely, it’s got a lot going for it.

halifax is a no sale though i’m afraid
Unless I'm mistaken; we've had this before from you Adam?

I'm born & lived in Rochdale all my life, but as well as socialising locally, I visit other towns in the vicinity regularly. Halifax is a belting afternoon or evening out. Loads of new independent bars/craft beer pubs with something for everyone. It's up there with Sowerby Bridge and better than many of the so called upmarket south Manchester snobbery holes where you pay upwards of silly money for a pint of fizz.

Would prefer it if Wrexham didn’t come up too. Mainly due to the fact especially when we go there it is almost guaranteed to kick off.

I know this will put me in a minority of one but the other one apart from Notts I wouldn’t mind too much would be Solihull. If only as can have a few beers in Birmingham.
Always kicks off when we go there as well guranteed.

I hope Stockport County make it over the line. Whilst that open away end is amongst the worst , the town itself offers the discerning drinker some exceptional options. Most notably the Crown Inn.
Would love to see Halifax back in the EFL. Pound for pound they must be the best team in the Vanarama. Doesn’t suprise me someone from Mansfield doesn’t appreciate the place.

That’s nice to know pal.

We’ve got good taste.

I can agree on stockport though, like altrincham (very close to me) it’s had to start upping its game to match manchester, the trafford centre etc and seems to be giving it a decent go.

The town itself has some decent boozers and the stockport fans have always been a decent laugh

Stockport take the lead against Torquay - IF they win this one they need 1 point against Halifax on Saturday to get promoted

Edit Stockport won 1-0 so just need a point at home against Halifax on Saturday.

After 10 years away I’d forgotten just how northern this league is!!
Looks like I’m going to be clocking up some miles next season.
At least we have Orient which is always one of my favourite away days. A few decent pubs and some good pie and mash.
My old man used to take me over the Os when I was just a nipper.

Wrexham seem to have massive one-way rivalries with everyone within 100 miles of Wrexham... apart from Chester and Shrewsbury, where it is two-way.

they’re welsh though, they do it to give themselves a (false) sense of importance.

I hope they do come up. As Loyal Dale says, It's a belting day(evening) out,

Least it would be close if we’re still down here.

Could be a VERY northern league next season (which of course is a good thing)

It’s not you it’s the scaffolding

Oh and the arse of a journey to get there and lose 1-0
This for us definitely. Apart from a worldie from Jonson Clarke-Harris in a midweek game I think most of our visits have ended in defeat

I’ve been to watch Gills at your place a few times but mostly in the mid 90’s. Your away end toilets were quite, erm, special back in those days.

They reflect the town

Nowt wrong with a good honest working town my friend

(But in all seriousness we won’t be using the scaffold stand for most of you guys, only if you bring over about 400. So you’ll be safely undercover in the stand at the side)

Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree but neither town are the best of friends. In respect to next season I suppose it depends on when we play and how we are doing, the potential is there but given the relationship between club and fans at present I doubt the desire to attend is

95/96 was the last time Mansfield and ourselves were in the same division, and we haven't played in any of the cups since then either. I know you had a brief spell in Division Two/League One at some point, so can only assume that co-incided with our time in the Championship, and our spells in League Two have been when you were out of the league. Either way, quite strange for us to have missed each other for over 25 years!

I've been as a neutral, but looking forward to the trip to Mansfield as it's not too far from the in-laws in Chesterfield and I can justify an afternoon out quite easily, while still getting brownie points for visiting them.
