Ah yeah, we got told frequently they were a little, basic.

Interesting that only Port Vale & Bradford took more fans to us than we took to them. Which both were on the first and last game of the season, which probably explains those two oddities. Clearly, we are far too good for this league support wise.

It was basically an open air wall on a slope with a drain at the bottom end. I’d never seen the like but apparently a common set up back in the old days.

Could be worse, we could deliberately stop a football game via a pitch invasion so we can see how many goals we need to score / the oppo to let in thanks to a premeditated agreement that they were happy to oblige on thanks to an undisclosed promotion clause implemented on a players contract at said club. Now that would be fucking embarrassing.

You also finished third, two places behind a village team. Said village teams budget was over double ours, and to think they finished level on points with us after an 18 point lead is some embarrassment to the sanctimonious c*** of a manager. And imagine have your budget and finishing comfortably behind us, LMFAO.

one thing that does show is that there is life after getting relegated to the NL. It's not like you've dropped into total obscurity - you see almost as many teams you've played before as you do in L2 after you've come down from L1 after 2 or 3 seasons away

I’m not against the idea but you also have to consider the shit at the bottom end of table, Dover lucky to finish the season with any points at all after refusing to play last season.

True but similar has happened in L1 and L2 with Bury and Macclesfield for instance.

yep and 3 of the 4 teams that made the NLN play off semi finals were ex-EFL too;- York, Boston and Kidderminster - so there's likely to be more ex-League clubs in it going forward. it won't be many years before 20 of the 24 teams in it will be ex EFL or phoenix clubs - Scarborough are NLN next season, Macclesfield probably in a year or 2 and Bury soon after that. They'll all be pushing for getting to the NL and back to the EFL

I’ve always suggested either 3 up 3 down or integrating the conference into the league.

The thing is clubs will eventually find their natural level again, nothing against them but you’ll see FG back in the conference or the the conference south again in a decade, it’s happened to sides before and will again.

I doubt we’ll make it past conference north for a fair few years if not longer to be honest. Even then it won’t be plain sailing for us there are some decent teams in non league now that spend money.

yeah Barrow's 2nd club - Holker Old Boys pushed you hard this season then got robbed in the play off final (i was at the game)

Solihull Moors (or moor green as i remember them from our non league days) are the form team going into the playoffs, 15 points from their last 5 games so we could very well see them joining us next season, and if swindon win the playoffs that would make solihull our closest away trip along with walsall, its going to be an expensive season for us next season.

Right next door to Birmingham Airport isnt it? Be a nice one for me in NW Leicestershire that, literally 35 minutes.

Aye a couple of links with them from their Moor Green days as we signed a couple of players who went on to have really good careers in Ian Taylor and Stuart Talbot. Think they have our old keeper Ryan Boot at the club as well.

They’d be my second preference after Notts to come up help beef up the Midlands representation in this league if we remain here.
