Did any of your clubs sell about £7 million pounds worth of talent and then not replace them, whilst letting the best manager your clubs ever had go for peanuts, and then decide to replace that manager with Dean f*cking Saunders????

No? Didnt think so.

I feel like you've a lot to learn ahead of next season.

P.S. The real shock is when Bromley hit 7 in your stadium. The clearest sign ever that your team are bloody terrible.

"If we hadn't been shit we wouldn't have been relegated".

Sounds like good logic. Applies to us as well.

This is what makes this league so great.
It’s a mix of newly relegated, “wtf are we doing here” anger, old wtf anger turned into “are we ever going to get back?”. Chuck in the “wow this division is amazing, how high up are we?!” (I currently reside in this category), and then there is Boreham Wood. (C’mon Tranmere).

Last time i went to Chesterfield, i thought the ground was shite. Just your typical modern lego box stadium. That was when we were in league one as well.

That’s now Torquay, Wrexham and Orient that have referenced us as a welcome to the conference yardstick. Once upon a time we’d have celebrated an FA Cup first round draw against you lot.
Just because we have a tiny little stadium, have never been out of non league and nobody knew where Bromley was before they played us doesn’t mean we’re not a decent side.
It’s not like you got stuffed by that seasons cannon fodder. Got a good little thing going on down here these last few years.
Very much looking forward to Chesterfield hopefully being added to the list.

When I say best I'm talking about the facilities, quality of pitch, not a single seat in the stadium is restricted view etc etc...

I'm not talking about what a supporter deems as the 'best' as that could mean anything from the atmosphere to just simply preferring an older ground with 'character'...

For what it's worth, I thought Prenton Park was shite when i visited, back in the glory days of league 1:dk:

I'm actually looking forward to visiting a whole host of new grounds, including Bromley! If you do beat us though, prepare for the standard 'you're nothing special, we lose every week'

I mean, that's not exactly what I said is it! Don't worry though, I'm not looking for sympathy off anyone on this forum, I suspect the bitterness of fans from ex league clubs is still fresh from their own demise into this God awful league, so I'd expect nothing less than for you to find some enjoyment from our plight south!:dk:

That was under the old owner who let the place run down trying to save cash. It is a very difference place now both in facilities and atmosphere as any of our visitors will testify. Anyway after tomorrow we might not be around for you to find that out for yourself.

I'm with Yellow on this.... Chesterfield are in for a massive culture shock in NL. Some (not all from what I've read on here) will think that it is going to be a peace of piss playing against some 'glorified pub teams' in some very ramshackle 'stadiums'. Trust me, it's not. Not only did Bromley hammer us with 7 at Plainmoor, we also have the dubious honour of never beating Guiseley (who the f**k are they, I hear all the Spireites shout in unison - yes, we thought that the first time we played them).

If you think Chesterfield have it bad this season just thank your lucky stars that you're not playing a level below it next season.... if you think this league is bad, you ain't seen nothing yet!

But not to worry, you are now part of 'The Brotherhood'... see, it's not all bad...

We were in the top division until the Second World War started but were relegated very quickly after it ended, if it wasn't for that Adolf Hitler guy we'd now be in the Premier League the fucking one balled wanker.

So that is why he invaded Poland. Not for lebensraum but to destabilise Grimsby Town!

I think if you read 95% of posts from our lot most will be concerned we are heading where you are, if not worse. I'm in for no shock, I know how bad it will be and I know how shit we are

We have got the best ground, that's not up for debate, but as previously mentioned it means absolutely nothing.

Tell me a club in this league with a better youth academy than ours then?

And 3, if it wasn't for horrific management from the top, we would be in league 1, which is what I'm referring to. I'm not trying to say we've got a god given right to be in league 1. If we'd have appointed a steady head after paul cook instead of the calamity that was Dean Saunders, we wouldn't be in this situation.

BUT, that's all if's but's and maybe's and here we are, in this dire situation, and in this dire league. The joys of supporting Chesterfield FC.

Your ground is a boring Lego stadium (Tranmere’s is bigger, Wrexham’s has 10x the character & history and Boreham Wood have a better pitch), your youth team is so brilliant it didn’t even win its division or go the furthest in the FAYC of the Conference sides (that would be Dagenham) and you’re trying to play woe is me top trumps with an Orient fan.

On the plus side, at least you’ve got a smashing sense of humour which is going to go down wonderfully on here.

Prenton Park is a better ground than yours, as is Brisbane Road in my view. The Racecourse is intrinsically a better stadium but needs a lick of paint. Your new place is modern, but is pretty soulless like Walsall, Colchester, Scunthorpe and the rest.

We had a much better academy than yours until we were forced to close it because it was not sustainable at this level. Something you will learn about soon.

We've already got category 2 academy facilities with a planning application in place to become one of the very few clubs outside of the Premier League with a Category 1 facilities, indoor pitches etc. Yours is category 3.

Your stadium is nothing special.

We'd still be a League 1 club if we weren't forced to release by tribunal most of our squad under Flashman. [/Running rings around OneDecentLester and going back to nutmeg him instead of Chesterfield as a whole whose fans so far seem half decent]

This OneLester kid is gonna have a breakdown once B2TF gets hold of him.

And anyway, Sutton have the best ground. Pitch is so good they couldn't go up due to it embarrassing the whole of the football league.

If Ourselves, Tranmere, Hartlepool, Wrexham, Torquay, Stockport and Chesterfield had all been run better in recent years we'd all still be in League One together.

Alas, we're here because we've all been mismanaged and stitched up along the road and have to accept that we've got to have the likes of Bromley and Salford City as our local derbys, innit.

Another mention...just admit it, you all have a little soft spot for the ‘mighty Bromley’ however annoying you find it being down here having to play us.

I don't mind being down here personally, it is what it is, followed Non league football long enough. Have to admire clubs like Bromley for doing well within their means.

One of my mates had Bromley has his second team for years as he lives round the corner from Hayes Lane, he always used to go when he had a spare moment. He'd have gone to Wembley in a few weeks as well had we not been in the same division, that 6-1 loss last season - I've know him 12 years and he was a very broken man that night!

I think you’re just the gold standard for tinpottery now that Guiseley have been punished for WHAT THEY DID.

Well I personally can't wait for this MASSIVE club Chesterfield to grace our ramshackle stadium with their league 1 support and super talented youth filled side, got a semi on at the thought.

Whilst I don’t agree with most of One Decent Lester’s comments I’m not sure where all the negativity is coming from about Chesterfields stadium, it looked superb to me and the atmosphere was fantastic when we were there and also it’s about the right size for where they were when it was built without loads of empty seats, probably gonna be a lot more empties this year of course due to their new level but I doubt they foresaw a trip to the National League when it was built.

Certainly as new builds go it’s one of the best.

I have been several times and did not think it was anything special at all, to be honest. Rotherham's new ground is a lot better.

Its not bad for a tesco car park. Every time I go another letter has disappeared from the name of the aren C ild stand.

Facilities is interesting one, we must be up there for facilities unrelated to football.
