Dont think anyone will be immune, but how the hell will teams like Luton survive with 10m plus Salaries
By being prudent over time as well as having significant transfer windfalls and not spaffing it up the wall. We are one of the few clubs in the division to spend only about 55% of our turnover on wages. Last season we had a wage bill of £6.2m seemingly and also have a wage ceiling of £6k per week. We, this summer, have managed to put together a competitive squad in my opinion on a shoestring in comparison.

If anyone is thinking that Project Big Picture has just been binned is naive in the extreme.

All the other clubs outside of the Premier League and proposed Premier League 2 should threaten to resign from the FA and form their own organisation if this is true. Not worth much if the FA has no power over the 35000 other clubs who play the game. It might seem radical but sometimes you need to show what is important.

Not to mention the elite v non-elite debacle and null and void below the NL North and South. They have been awful for ages now.

We gained big time by our chairman leaving the FA. He probably had a point to prove, all of his ideas have been put into running us and we have benefitted enormously. Pity nobody suitable for the FA job has emerged since. Somebody who actually understands all sides of the game. No doubt some idiot will now bring up the past.

Can't see anything about going into admin en masse.

Need Parry and Clarke out asap. Two underhand fuckers who are supposed to be looking after the greater interests of the game.

Was some plans for 18 team EPL and EPL 2 and something like 5 EFL leagues which include B teams.

All involved should resign!

Although I do think the National League should be an EFL League 3 in its own right now all virtually full time and have many big clubs at that level the EPL would clearly become closed shop and the B team idea is a no go!

Fair point. Clubs plead poverty, then spend like mad. Championship is a crazy league.

And this is also why the football league doesnt DESERVE a bail out. Clubs should be responsible for their own finances.

I don't see how letting them fold benefits anyone though. Bailout should be based on tight financial rules, no one can spend more then 70% of their average match day income from the previous year, and all clubs must show a profit after 2 years in the EFL or face sanctions.

I quite like the licensing suggestion as well.

We now have a senior squad of 29 (including 7 lone players), no idea how we are paying them all; most likely in fish, salt and IOU's.

Just saying!
