fuck the bailout. they can stuff their money up their arses. we dont need pennies handed down to us like we are victorian peasants from the pockets of a few wealthy arabs.

compared to their turnovers 100 mil is peanuts and we are going to give away our future for a quick buck? fuck that.

I’d be in favour of reducing the number of teams in the Prem and ultimately relegating two sides down from each division. There’s enough shite that survives each season in the Prem (and in our league frankly) that I don’t think it’d be a bad thing. Would make it less easy for sides to just aim to stay in the Prem each year anyway.

The financials are good but the power grab from Liverpool and Man U is shocking, it has to be rejected on that basis alone.

Fair point but it won't get voted in as teams won't want to be the extra clubs going down in that one season the league gets reduced.

It will get voted in...its not perfect but many clubs are near to going under
And clubs with wealthy owners who would have to find this deficit will also vote for it because it will mean they dont have to dip into there own pockets.
It wont go down well with your Brightons,West ham etc but the will be many who will jump at this lifeline

Well sure as shit I'm not going to support this. Nobody cares what Exeter says but we get our vote so we can at least tell them to fuck off even if it doesn't change anything.

Oliver Dowden on BBC this morning: If football doesn't work together, we'll have to go back to our manifesto pledge for a fan-led review.

So they were (are) planning to go against their own manifesto pledge... again.

Some more info dripping out...

-Currently 1st to 20th ratio of central income is 1.7:1. This could become to 4:1.
-Clubs would be able to sell eight matches on their own platforms through PPV.

You got the watkins money and the money from that kid i think to villa.......Strong rumour Randall will be out the door this week.
Either you are being asset stripped as you dont seem to be signing anyone.....Or your club is in trouble financially.

This offer is a breath of fresh air for league one, two clubs.

Here's a plan that the Big 6 won't like: the Bottom 14 join the EFL, they promote six clubs upwards and the big 6 are completely isolated with nowhere to play...

I remember when Devon Lad claimed to be banned from football due to being a notorious football hooligan, whilst simultaneously being a top non league referee. Those were the good old days.

Rick Parry on the BBC this morning talking up this plan - how is he going to dump 2 of his own members for this power grab.

Scandalous. Resignation stuff.

Surely if you're actively working against your own members that is a sackable offence?

What a surprise, Masi is the one who fails to see the "bigger picture". It's selling our souls for a one-time fee. It's even more galling for any clubs with aspirations of ever establishing themselves in the Premier League, like Sunderland or, err, Bolton perhaps.
It's a handful of foreign owners who want more cash and couldn't give a shit about lower league clubs. Have you even thought about the things they might vote through when given the power?

They'll stop funding lower leagues properly, academy rules will change so they can hoover up any talents they fancy, they won't want to bother playing lower league clubs in the FA Cup anymore when they can spend January touring the Middle East, they can veto any takeovers they don't like the sound of. They're just the ones that seem obvious - who knows what else they would do? They sure as fuck won't have Bolton in mind while they're planning it.

No, I didn't simultaneously do both. I've been banned since Euro 2016. I haven't reffed in ages. I also never said i was a 'TOP' non league referee.

I'm not entirely sure why people fail to do maths on this forum.

I can’t see any scenario whereby this gets voted through, including the 14 PL teams who would be left at a distinct disadvantage even within their own league.

It’s a starting point with the amounts of money being spoken about but other than that it’s complete bullshit.

No on the contrary i get it completly and you may be right it may hinder my club in 5 or ten years time.
Look at some of my posts early July August when i say football MUST change.
Long term the big 6 will move into a European/world league. 25% of sky money is a big pot to turn our noses up at
This is not a one off payment it is year on year.
Also the is money offered to clubs in the National league and lower. Fans are not getting inside grounds any time soon and its a life line to clubs on the verge of going bang.
If i dont see Bolton in the premier league again its no big deal. The club/football will have a chance to grow build with this over haul.
American/Arab owners dont care about the Fa Cup.....They just Care about the brand. They openly state they would rather finish 4th in the league rather than win the FA.Cup.
As for snapping up all the best youngsters that is happening now.

Some of the proposals like £20 tickets and subsidised travel for the Premier league should be extended to all leagues. Again paid for out of this money.
Apart from your West Hams, Burnley etc this will be a good thing for football.

This bleating about losing two clubs is false....yes they will be relegated but they will be stronger financially and stronger as a club.
Without this deal i think we will lose clubs year on year to debt.

It's not a year on year fee, it's one-off with "some" support each season. It won't be much different to what they have now.

Why are West Ham and Burnley fans not important?

Some of the proposals are decent, but they are there to disguise the real thing it is all about. Look beyond 5-10 years, and you'll see what is effectively Major League Soccer, where everything below that is absolutely irrelevant. You'll never see a team come from nowhere to win the title, you'll never see a big team relegated.

This is the "Big Six" using the shitty situation we're in to blackmail people. Fucking disgrace.

Yes it is 25% of tv Money year on year...it is not a one off payment. Ten years from now Liverpool and Manchester United will be in a global world league.....let the top 6 jog on. When they do we can re structure Maybe add Celtic/Rangers into the league. Re negotiate tv deals and the Burnleys, West Ham will have a chance of winning the lge.

Any extra money will be sucked up by higher transfer fees, higher wages and owners’ arse pockets.

Clubs will still be signing the same old shit they are now - they’ll just cost more.

Would TV be interested in a league pyramid that doesn’t include the ‘big 6’? What would be the incentive for any club winning the restructured pyramid?

What’s the incentive for winning some Europa Super League? Would TV, and by extension fans, be interested in what would really be a series of high profile friendlies over time?

These ‘super clubs’ need to be careful. A few years of bucket loads of TV cash could easily go tits up as fans get bored shitless watching essentially pointless games.

Once the big six negotiate their own TV deals, that will be 25% of fuck all. Once the big six quit the Premier League, that will be 25% of less than fuck all.

One of the stipulations was a strict Salary cap outside the Premier league
The big 6 would in my opinion be soon forgot about....The new leagues may thrive....and a European world league may go tits up i mean who wants to watch Man City v some Arab team....
Portsmouth v Southampton or even Barrow v Carlisle will Always get the fans up for it

Interesting proposals, doubt they'll go through without a few tweaks and changes.

Love the fact Man City have been promoted to a top 6 club even though both Villa and Newcastle have been in the Prem more seasons than them and that is a criteria for who gets the extra voting power. Money again!

Cannot go cap in hand to the premiership because we told them to get stuffed.
Cannot go cap in hand to Boris because he will say football was offered a way out.
Who will survive the season....
At least 10 teams in lge 1/2 will go bang....

If they are using the nine longest serving clubs, Man City wouldn't qualify.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, West Ham United

In fairness they said it was the nine clubs with the longest current spell, not most years overall which is why the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle lose out.

Not that that makes it right. West Ham and Southampton are just added to make it look more inclusive, six of the top nine voting for something will be enough to make it pass so West Ham and Southampton, and indeed Everton (who are probably soon to join the big seven) aren't really needed if all of the big six want to do something.

One thing seems to have gone unnoticed.

If 2 clubs drop out of the PL that leaves 74 clubs in the EFL. So, in effect, Parry is advocating 2 existing EFL clubs must drop out and into non league and, of course, the inevitable knock on effect cascading down the entire structure.
