I can see Keith Hill either clawing Scunny away from the bottom of the table by the new year, or walking out after a month thinking I don't this!!
I'm shocked he didn't walk out after his first training session after seeing the lack of ability we had.

He said after our loss in the FA Cup that "we need to improve on the basics" so I think he has his expectations set very low.

I just don't feel the strategy works? I guess we have just hit the screws with Nathan Jones. He seems passionate enough and got bitten by Stoke so hope he can bring further success. Ranieri seems a decent manager and I feel you guys should stick with him.
Yes - he does seem to have the know how and experience to get us out of trouble and what is needed.

Got a tough run coming up but as you say have to back someone otherwise the players will just perform when they want to knowing if they don't the manager will be sacked.

Having said the fans have been fully on board with the last 2 sackings for various reasons.

If anything the management lottery is one of the few things they don't get criticised for from fans.

If the team is performing very badly or just trying to kiss the clouds with the ball then again I agree as no one wants to watch anything like that. But, the Prem is a tough league, if you get a manager who is great with his tactics doesn't injure his players with over exaggerated training methods and can be considered unlucky in a high percentage of defeats then keep him. I have lost count now for Watford with the amount of managers they've had and for Luton I can count on one hand our managers.

Bans could be slapped on Rob Law, Eddie Kyle and Craig Hignett.

Tell you what the Chandy's Q&A with Raj thing could be a belter
I usually agree with Kyle's take on things.
But to compare Singh with Stott, who's worth £73 million so I've read,is a bit strange.

A few people seem to think Andy Woodman of Bromley is done and dusted, personally I’ve not heard a thing and news from inside Pools generally leaks all over, so it could be just a few dickheads on a windup, true or not he’d be the best candidate of those linked for me, better to give someone who’s doing well a shot at a higher league than a bum who’s just been sacked from somewhere.

Watch it be Fabrizio Ravanelli now..

Sounds like Alex Revell may be in trouble at Stevenage. Their chairman makes the usual 'wish him well' statement about Mark Sampson moving on, but at the end of his statement, says this,

'Our league results have been unacceptable to all of us, and Alex and I have had several discussions recently.'

Maybe they can appoint a Keith and join the relegation battle properly.

Anyway, I don't want to distract too much from the key issue in league 2, which is Watfords new manager.

Blaming everyone but yourself is usually the beginning of the end. Yems has started to blame everyone but his own decisions, I expect he'll be out the door next.

Seems to me with Stevenage they’ve lost a bit of that “oh shit we have to play them this weekend” factor. Regardless of anything else usually you’d guarantee they’d be a right nasty bunch of bastards to play against but this season it appears just judging by their defensive record for one they’re a bit of a soft touch. That’s probably been the trade-off for trying to resemble more of a football team.

You ain't wrong but he does still have many friends around the club. However losing , something like, 8 games out of 9 is asking for trouble.

Have to say we could do worse but this appointment is a bit meh for me like.

Would've gone for Wild but then I heard he is bezzies with Challinor so that probably stopped any interest he might've had.

I was in the meh camp when we appointed DC after Fylde binned him off, Woodman's had a good spell at Bromley who are an efficient team and at times were very 'dark artsy' different challenge and a big step up for him here, must fancy himself after only being a manager for what 7 months?

Granted it's not official, but I'm pleased we're in for managers like Woodman/Wild who are on the up and not some shysters looking for a final payday in management.

Appears to be a decent appointment. Clearly done a good job in the league below looking at where they are in the table. I’m assuming they’re not some bankrolled club flashing the cash around. Aren’t they known for being a bit on the ahem physical side? Not that Hartlepool fans should care on that.

I wanted DC right from the start, was head and shoulders the right man for the job at that time

Yeah you could say he's on the up or you could say he's only been a manager for 28 games. His record over that is good, I'll admit that. Seems from the podcast he's got a house in a posh part of Northumberland with loadsa fackin mates. He probably wanted this gig a while, I remember him saying how much he wanted Pools to win the play offs and all that big club should be in the football league type platitudes.

At least as you said it's not gonna be Beech or someone else off the merry-go-round. And if he can bring Cheek with him then that'd be nice.

They are quite well off and they were shithouse central under Neil Smith. Not sure what they were like under Woodman.

Hartlepool bullying a smaller club like Bromley and taking their manager.

No different to what we did with Challinor.

Can't see Bromley fans giving it the histironics, burning flags etc. And I notice the Hartlepool fans don't seem to have a problem when they're doing the pushing and shoving around? Funny that.

Kicked lumps out of us in the playoffs like, think they had a lad booked after 2 minutes.

Aye but DC only left cos he was sick of having to make the butties for away games.

Good appointment for Pools.

As for Bwood, the club is the very definition of a hobby club because how else could they compete with the NL top dogs on home crowds of 500/600 unless they weren't heavily bankrolled. In 2019 their owner was talking about reducing his investment in the club if they couldn't get more fans through the gate -

EDIT - Oh FFS :ffs:

I always say Woodman is at Bwood when I definitely know he's Bromley's gaffer. Has to be one of those things with no clear explanation as to why I keep on doing it.

What are Stevenage’s expectations, Wallace doesn’t seem to have been spending a lot on their squad these last few seasons. I thought they’d be down there again this season tbh.

Things will be a lot clearer after the weekend, there's no way he doesn't get questioned about it, if Pools want him after the whinging about Stockport we did they'll have to be doing everything by the book.

Really enjoyed this, great podcast. Seen they’ve done one with Martin Allen too which I’ve got lined up for tomorrow’s lunch break.
