Watch out all officials , opposition benches and players!

Probably be a very different approach to Tisdale.

First game against Mansfield, I feel like that’s bad news.

Saturday just got interesting. If they end up turning us over after our last 2 results I can see someone actually landing one on the fat fuck. That'd be a shame

Evans is shit in a relegation battle. Gutted we didn’t accept their approach earlier in the season.

Evans is bad enough but it’s that prick of an assistant who follows him everywhere who comes across even worse. I don’t think this is going to save Stevenage though. Only so much you can do with a squad which is so poor throughout.

To be fair to him he isn’t quite as bad as he used to be on the touch line (I think he was told to calm it down when he was offered the job). Still an obvious wanker though and I don’t think he’s ever rescued a team from relegation either. Only does well when he can turn half the squad over twice a season, the act gets old and the effect he has on players wanes even quicker.

Still, he might get the new manager bounce, but I’m not going to say that I wish him success.

If our shower of shite can produce a new manager bounce then any team can.

Looking at Stevenage’s fixtures, obviously the next 2 are difficult but after that they have plenty of opportunities for points if Evans can get something out of the squad.

If the players won't perform for Tisdale why would they perform for Evans?

I checked Steve Evans profile on Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Evans_(footballer,_born_1962)
and must say that some of the comments posted regarding him are false.
Generally he has been a successful manager: - two promotions with Rotherham plus saving Leeds United from almost certain relegation.
Agreed he left Gillingham in a relegated state, but he's never had team relegated under him while in charge.
However I'll agree his personal CV is not brilliant: - his mouth has left him with many suspensions from stadiums and touchline. And of course he has a civil conviction for tax evasion.
On balance, Evans is a 'reasonable' appointment for Stevenage considering their dire state the club is in.

From a review of the excellent Journeyman by Ben Smith; https://www.wsc.co.uk/reviews/64-Players/12653-journeyman

"The most interesting section chronicles his years with Crawley Town under the idiosyncratic management of Steve Evans. Smith’s opinion of Evans does not come as a surprise even if some of the man’s methods still manage to – such as telling the squad that the club will cease supplying training kit and announcing a session two hours afterwards, forcing several players to head for Sports Direct to kit themselves out. Smith eventually learns to let the regular vicious personal bollockings wash over him and is amused that, prior to each of Crawley’s appearances in a televised match, Evans would refresh the highlights in his hair."

That confirmed with Stevenage or just rumoured at the moment? Doesn't seem to have worked out much for Tisdale since he was at MK. Suppose Stevenage are overdue a Westley return for about the 800th time.
Didn't really work that well at us. Yes, he got us promotion but it was touch and go and he had a huge (for this level) budget to work with. His performance the next season in league 1 wasn't good either and I'm sure there were other rumblings behind the scenes that didn't bode well.

Before our home game a few weeks back with Carlisle, myself and a few others were in our seats discussing our managerial vacancy, our seats are close to the middle section of our West Stand where the "posher" padded seats are and where all the scouts, guests and other teams managers sit (see quite a few current managers/coaches in there scouting etc) anyway the conversation turned to Steve Evans amongst us, would we take him? I said I couldn't knock the blokes record, but as a human being he isn't the most likeable bloke on the touchline.

This caught the attention of someone in our padded seats, who's ears were up, he came over to us and was quick to say what a great guy Evans was, "lovely man" were his words and "he'll get you lot up" I asked him who he was, he wouldn't give me his name but said he worked for Evans for 3 seasons as an analyst - He wouldn't say which club. He went onto say Evans wasn't coming here as he had other projects in the pipeline. The man we was speaking to was there working, you can spot the scounts/analysts as they have a team sheet and are constantly taking notes all game. I wonder if he was scouting Carlisle in preparation for Stevenages game up there, knowing Evans was going to Stevenage if Tisdale couldn't turn things around..........

We've been poor for ages, but when Stevenage played us a few weeks back I didn't think they was much better than us, they looked every bit a struggling team that we did - underlined by the fact we scrambled a bit of an undeserved last minute equaliser against them.

He did contribute to helping Boston get relegated by two tiers in one go. Which considering he'd been involved in what led to their highly improper promotion into the league in the first place was fair.

Oh and that Burger King wrapper shirt. Disgrace.

To be fair yer man here makes some very compelling points. In other words fuck off Stevenage and don’t come back!!!

From that Wiki you linked to:

Mansfield Town

Evans was appointed manager of League Two side Mansfield Town on 16 November 2016, replacing Adam Murray.[59] He resigned on 27 February 2018,[60] saying he wanted to go and work in China.[61]

Peterborough United

Evans was appointed manager of League One side Peterborough United on 28 February 2018, one day after leaving Mansfield.

Lad obviously got confused by that Peterborough in Zhejiang province and the other one out there in Hunan. Sucks for him he was getting recruited by the one in Cambridgeshire.

I had a feeling Cooper might go after yesterday.

His BBC interview to me suggested he knew it. “All I asked is for the players to run around a bit and they couldn’t even do that”
“I know if these players concede 1 we can only draw a game”

Who they going to replace him with?
Keith Millen is available.

The last month has been pretty frantic in the new manager market. Also means there's a fair few managers about. The pick of them if I was Barrow owner would be Keith Curle.
