You get the feeling they’re dragging it out past the early bird season ticket prices, get the suckers to sign up for another season of shit and announce some no mark manager shortly after.
David Dunn, Michael Jolley, Mark Cooper all available and with L2 experience

I guess I was giving Hartlepools owner a bit too much credit but when they sacked Lee I thought the timing of it indicated there was a plan in place ready to go. Apparently not. Got to wonder if it’s a case of word spreading about the owner within the game why they haven’t found anyone yet.

No guarantees we're getting Wild either yet.

We could still end up with whoever gets turned down by Hartlepool...

Don’t say that you’ll trigger paragraphs from the Darlo mob.

Raj used to run everything himself, now he has a team of suits to help him run things, led by Adrian Bevington who plays some boardroom role at Pools.

The way Halifax played last night, Has put big doubts in my mind regarding Wild.
Chesterfield were there for the taking, Can,t really see Solihull haveing a problem with them.

Anyway regarding our non manager appointment, Mark Venus has just left Blackburn.
Has been in for the job in the past i think. You never know .

We played Halifax last preseason and they looked a poor poor team. And that’s some going considering the shite they were up against.

No one judges anything on pre season friendlies.

He’s done a ridiculously good job with that budget and squad to get them to 4th and 84 points but his weakness does seem to be he shits it in big games and suddenly he and his players lack belief.

If he took over at Barrow and could do a similar job I’m sure they wouldn’t be complaining.

So then it's pretty amazing that he got them into the play-offs?

Strikes me a bit of one of these nu-age coaching conmen him. Read all the books, got all his badges etc. With the squad Notts have they should have challenged us and Wrexham IMO. They even rocked Harry Arter out for 2 or 3 months of the season. I wouldn't rule them out of the play-offs though simply because they do have individual talent. I think they play tonight.

Notts County sacked Neal Ardley for Burchnall who managed to finish higher with Solihull with a smaller (not small) budget.

If Notts go up he'd mad to leave them for Forest Green IMO. Only one division below and Notts have a far bigger fanbase and potential.
Notts County obviously have a much bigger fanbase at present.

I would say FGR have huge potential though. I think you would be surprised how attractive we are as a club to potential Managers.

It’s not the only time though, granted what he,s done is remarkable.
but expectations at pools is far greater.
The Stockport game was a flop, when a result could have given them a home tie
in the semi.
That’s just two games lately, there have been others this season, it just seems
at time when its on the line the motivation is not there.

Could that not just be when the limitations of the squad come to light? Genuine question, I don’t know the answer.

Expectations with your chairman and budget would be what exactly?

I see Hartlepool as the League Two version of Halifax. If he was appointed and you finished fourth next season I should imagine you’d take that.

Indeed, compensation agreed. The hunt for a new manager begins here. I assume we'll go down the under 23 coach route a la Ipswich/Franchise.
And there was me looking forward to a standard pre season. This club is continually bonkers, it's brilliantly infuriating.

Eh? League 2 version of Halifax, fucking hell that's a cheap shot, you're gonna have to expand on that for me like.

Do Charlton ever learn?
Charlton had a young, dynamic manager in Johnnie Jackson who was hit with major injuries hence their mediocre season. He got dumped and as a result he's now our manager. I'm looking forward to what he can do on a tight budget and a bunch of youth players.

Didn't Garner get sacked from Brizzle Rovers a couple of years ago?

As much as I find Garner an arrogant so and so, he did seem committed to Swindon and seemed genuinely gutted that they didn't get through. It's a strange one, as although Charlton have been in the premier league fairly recently, they're not a massive club. Perhaps he wanted to live in London or the financial package was too good to turn down.

Swindon job is going to get a lot of applicants. They've got a virtually promotion ready team there with a few smart additions. It might be an opportunity to steer slightly away from the complete possession based football which I feel never works at this level...the players aren't good enough to make it work. Needs a mix.

I'm gonna presume he meant that our budget is weak (which Halifax's in relation to other NL clubs) and we lack ambition unlike another bankrolled club. If he's talking about the two clubs being like for like then he's talking out of his poo pipe.

Hahahahahah Garner about as loyal as a fish then, what a shocker.

What happened to his 3 year plan, commitment to Swindon after being the worst manager in EFL history or wanting to develop his young players through?

The first tiny whiff of success (getting the 2nd biggest club in the division to finish 6th) and he’s off! He was actually at Rovers longer than Swindon which is astonishing - we can’t seem to get rid of the guy, follows us everywhere we go.

I feel for Swindon fans and the owner here as you have the guy a chance and this is how you’re repaid

Bit harsh on fish. I went on holiday for 2 weeks recently and mine didn't jump tanks at the first opportunity

Budget is a weird one cos we genuinely don’t know, Raj has already publicly stated that the new managers budget should get us the playoffs this season, even went further to suggest a ‘good manager’ in his words would get an automatic spot with it.

So he’s either gonna pump it this season (highly doubtful) or we’re hiring Jesus Christ as manager.

Probably a case of whether you believe him or not. Going on last season's evidence that wasn't apparent at all. You hear figures like 800k which if true is tiny compared to our attendances and revenue. You can barely compete with figures like that. This season you feel all will be known about the scale of ambition and funding at the club.

Tbf I think there’s a difference in playing a mid table/bottom half team who know we’re fighting for promotion in the last 7/8 games than doing it all season. But it’s a good point youve made
