Neil Wood, United 23 manager is expected to take over at Salford.
Looks like the 10 Salford fans are going to learn the hard way about Premier League u23 managers just like us and Hartlepool have.

Aye but to be fair, managing Salford is a lot like managing an U23 side, cos no fucker turns up to watch them either.

Or it could go the way of Blackpool who survived comfortably in the Championship under the lad that used to be in charge of Liverpool U23s. I do hope they continue to fail of course. Nonsensical hobby club.

Decent bloke Craig, but we soon knocked that out of him. Scapegoat For others.
Eye,never stood a chance with those charlatans in charge.
He did actually get us 14 games unbeaten at one point, not bad considering he didn't sign the players.

Just failed everywhere he's gone. If appointed, has to be his last chance in the football league!

On a completely unrelated note, have you heard anything about rumours of Charles Vernham signing for you guys?

It’s alright, if he’s shite we’ll chew him up and spit him out in 6 months time like we normally do with managers

He has 4 promotions and a bit of success but only 'til about 2017 and his career has gone down the shitter since the Mackems.

Has to be his last chance at league level, not an appointment that sets the pulses must be said.

Nope? Then again im not on any other forums or social media! I know he's ex Grimsby, and before he signed for you, there were rumours of him coming here. Whats he like?

It's just Twitter rumours really. He's been offered a contract but I don't think he'll sign. He's been our best player by some distance and he was out for a chunk of the season. 8 goals and 4 assists, but should have netted double that. Rumour stems from him still living in Lincoln I believe so maybe someone has just put two and two together. Would step up to League One with ease if he moves.

Pools and Barra in a straight shootout for Wild Pete at Halifax if we put 2+2 together from Alan Nixons tweets?

Haway Chesterfield get them knocked out and let’s gerra manager in!

Not sure we'll get Wild largely if the club insist on relocation which he is reluctant to do.

I've heard Mike Williamson has been invited to a second interview, Grayson is being considered and the Cove Rangers boss.

I wouldn't begrudge any manager not wanting to relocate here, the average lifespan of a Pools manager is about a season, we've had 20 managers in the last 20 years

I'm hoping the fact we train in Manchester will be a big advantage however I could see why he'd fancy Hartlepool, better setup/crowds than ours. Managers don't last long here either.

Apparently Grayson has been offered the job & he’s considering it.That’s good of him.

Been linked with a club in the Indian league as well, either freeze your nips off with Pools, or sweat them off in India

The Salford appointment of Woods shows they're going down a different direction, in the last two seasons we've seen coaches who've come through academy backgrounds in Mark Bonner and Rob Edwards - Both with little experience of League two lead their teams out of this league so IMO they're trying to follow this new trend and hope it has the same effect - This is will either work like it did for Cambridge and FGR or fail miserably like it did for Ben Garner when he went to Bristol Rovers.

I think Barrow and Hartlepool could do alot worse than take a chance of Gary Bowyer myself.

No thanks - Hartlepool can have him.
