If we get relegated this year I can’t see us ever getting back, this next appointment is massive for the fate of the club imo

Just watched 9 minutes of the lowlights & actually found it quite funny how bad we were.
At least Alexander is available now & being out of work,he might jump at the chance.

Alexander would take some of the heat off Raj, has a decent win % everywhere he's been, wonder if Jack Ross fancies it after taking a black eye at his last club.

Think plenty saw this coming even before the season started.
I reckon 90 per cent of posters on here would have said Hartley to go first - I suppose he lasted longer than Stockdale mind.

Good luck to whoever takes over the group of Scottish players nowhere near good enough for this level.

I said myself on here at the time that we’d been down that route and it’s always a disaster, I like Hartlepool as well hope they stay up.

I’ve never understood professional clubs going after lower league Scottish managers and players, the odd one works but most teams are part time the quality is appalling and no reflection of how someone will handle the English leagues.

I mean our most successful manager in recent times was from Peterhead in Neale Cooper who got us to a midgies dick of the Championship, so I guess lightning really doesn't strike twice cos Hartley was a disaster :lac:

Yup.
When were relegated a few season back,Motherwell signed 4 or 5 of that team & qualified for Europe.
Its an awful standard.

I may be wrong, but seem to remember Jack Ross having a fall out with the club/fans when he was here for a short spell as a player.

Don’t try and copy us ffs, Raj needs to pull his finger out his arse and spend.

Alexander will sort your defence out. He’s not good at free flowing attacking football though.

Don't think he fell out with anyone,he was homesick & just buggered off.

Their lass didn't like the area, he had a big falling out with the club.

Hartlepool could be playing in The Championship next season but I wouldn't go back even if they were in the Champions League.

"Maybe the manager thinks I have let him down but that's nothing compared with how I feel about him.

"I was homesick and told the club to rip up my deal but they keep messing me around.

"I have one year left on my contract and hope to find a solution to the problem but I'm not holding my breath.

"The club keep telling me they are going to speak to the chairman but nothing ever gets done and I'm sick of it.

DC could well be available by then.
I , and everyone I spoke to yesterday, would be more than happy to leave him in the job as long as we're not in danger of going down.

The trouble is we're not the ones to decide; the-powers-that-be have already set their stall out with their lack of patience after sacking Gannon... and yes that was actually a power struggle, but they can't seriously justify that by saying it was 'a question of culture' and then let this indisciplined, rudderless farce continue.

You look at how Grimsby are doing and see what a promoted side being kept together is capable of, but our champions were dismantled in favour of these overpaid headless chickens looking like complete strangers every week.

My mind keeps being cast back to that expensive side Challinor assembled at Fylde that were pre-season favourites, yet he ended up leaving them bottom of the division. I thought it was just an aberration on an otherwise successful career but now I'm wondering if there's summat else.

I think any club in this league would stop up in the SPL.

i think if you put a dundee or someone in our league they’d struggle to go up. The quality just isn’t there.

He's just the type we need, someone to get us organised and competitive. We've allegedly been in talks with him going on a week.

Absolutely buzzing he's gone. Hartley was a charlatan. Got bad vibes about him even in pre season. Arrogant, ill-prepared, old school and a terrible man manager. I'm sure a few of the playing staff will be happy. Now just for the man at the top but that's a pipedream.

Get on the Sunday beers, Poolies.

graham alexander would be a cracking signing for you.

You’ve got to be spectacularly crap to go down from this league and even now a few wins and you’re soon midtable.

Aye, don't think our situation is useless by any stretch. Glad we've acted when we did. There's still time for Alexander to turn us down though.
