"Us and them" meaning it's GTFC, the Fans and team, against everyone else.

When i give you lot a bit of praise you have to try and twist it

:hb: McAtee showed a bit of promise for us, scored a couple of goals off the bench. he was always going to follow Hurst again.
Hahaha ah sorry in that case, I thought you were referring to Hurst and the fans the first time round when it was fairly fractious.

Colchester gonna announce Matt Bloomfield as new manager?

Seems a big gamble?

It's a bit underwhelming, particularly as it feels like now would be a good time to add some experience and perhaps it isn't the time to be taking risks. It feels like it's just another 'coach' to slot into the already failing jigsaw when we could do with an experienced guy to come in and overhaul the playing side entirely, but maybe he can have the impact a young Phil Parkinson had back in 2003 though, or become the new Gareth Ainsworth.

I had warmed to the idea of David Artell to be honest, he seemed to be the best fit for us in my head - similar set up/structure to Crewe with the academy emphasis, a few years of experience under his belt, took Crewe back up into League One and a decent finish there. Saw some quotes that he felt he had to do too much there, where here he would have a large backroom structure to help him out - thought it ticked all the boxes.

Colchester were preparing to unveil their new manager at 3:30pm, but for whatever reason they had to push back the announcement until 4pm.

Only the thing is, Wycombe didn’t get the memo… they proceeded with announcing Bloomfield as Colchester manager at 3:30pm as originally planned.

At this point, Colchester still haven’t unveiled their manager, despite Wycombe doing it for them.

Quite funny

I thought Colchester would get someone with some decent lower league experience this time.

Wagmi lead person, Preston Johnson, coming over to the UK early for tomorrow's game.

In a twitter broadcast/post he said they have been disappointed in the results this season and everything is on the table.

Half the Crawley fans expect a sacking unless we win 6-0 or something silly like that.

Has he been to any other games out of interest?

A few. He put a grand behind the bar for one game (that I had to miss). Wehad one of the other guys Hunter Orell (?) filming with the team over the last few weeks as well.

They have some silly ideas (if it brings some dosh into the club then fine) but they are all statisticians and sports betting people so they are probably used to making cold, hard decisions.

I know Artell has said that, but believe me he's not entirely being honest there. He was a huge control freak who wanted to do it all himself and that eventually led to his undoing. It was great when things were going well, but when things went South he was horribly exposed as a manager who lacked a Plan B and made bad decision after bad decision.

At the time of his sacking, he wasn't on speaking terms with all three of his main assistants due to throwing one of them under the bus. So I'm not sure a big backroom staff elsewhere would've helped him. But he certainly won't be working with the backroom staff he had at Crewe ever again, that's for sure.

I'm not sure where DA is going to end up next, I hope he ends up at a good club like, but I just can't see him leaving his home in Chester for a job down South so Colchester wouldn't have appealed to him anyway in my eyes.

I personally think you're much better off with Bloomfield. Artell was a broken man last season and I feel he needs a lot longer out of the game before he gets back on the saddle. There's a good manager in Dave, but he needs to adapt and open to other people's ideas if he wants to succeed in the game again. He needs to learn he can't do it all by himself.

The knives are definitely out tonight for McSheffrey, I really can’t see him lasting much longer

Seems there was a split in the ranks of wagmi over whether to sack Betsy or not.

Some thought he should go others thought he should stay.

In the stay camp it is reported that he is seen as key to bring the attractive attacking style play the fans are demanding.

In the go camp it is reported that there is disappointment at the unattractive, defensive football that has garnered 6 points from 33.

In some ways it reminds me of when Orient were relegated. Lots of dosh spent but the club in a downward spiral.

Big Si Weaver. Harrogate have gone stale.

If little Weaver goes it means daddy's pulling the plug?

Absolutely, as the traditional Harrogate fans have said including the one who used to post regularly on here, he bought the club to let his son play footy manager.

An ironic like from me there.

You may wish to reconsider your post though.

There's a poll up on the Crawley fans forum already. Choose between Alexander, Artel, Fergusson, Hill and Tisdale and Lewis Young (Yems' asst manager)

Almost as though they want us to get relegated

Got no idea who it's going to be but whoever it is has got some work on his hands. First things first. Need to get some of the injured players back, figure out a style of play that suits the players we have and start bloody shooting.
