Brian Barry Murphy set to be announced as our new manager this week apparently. Considering some of the names we have been linked with, I'd be relatively happy with this.

A bad run of form and he’d get little leeway with the fans for sure. Can’t see it personally. There seems to be a bit of a rumour about Flynn, seeing as Morfuni wanted him when he took over.

I‘d take Fred West if he gets us out of the basement.
More likely to keep you in the basement.

Why don’t one of Swindon or Walsall go for ‘ahem’ Evans.

He won’t stay long with Stevenage and as horrible as he is he knows the division well with resources.
He is a fat wanker but what a job he has done there i would have him here.

He did come across as miserable. Preferred blaming the players and lack of backing as the reason he only managed 4 win’s from 18. I’d go for Darell Clarke but that’s way too sensible for STFC.

In the few interviews I saw him, I've never seen a manager who looked like he wished he was somewhere else and couldn't be bothered, more than him

The miserable bugger got his team up for it against us somehow a couple of weeks ago I hasten to add

The fact that a number of players are ‘liking’ the tweet of him going says a lot.

I couldn't quite work him out at Rochdale because they seemed to play some really good, entertaining football but were so, so bad defensively that they had to score 3 or 4 a game to get anything from it.

It was almost like he was stuck in his idealistic, U21 mindset of performance over results.

Ian Dawes given the Tranmere job. That's basically just giving it to the assistant manager isn't it?

Literally never heard of him but a quick look on his Wiki page revealed to me that he is a Stephen Vaughan associate.

Depends on who else comes in at Tranmere they have said an experienced Football director will also be joining ? I would give our job to Sadler if it meant keeping Richard Okelly here long term with him.

The appointment hasnt gone down well. Brian Barry Murphy was in for talks on Monday, but talks broke down because he wanted to bring his own staff in, god forbid.

Palios has lost alot of respect from fans for this.

Nobody knows how a manager is going to turn out.

When Wellens signed nobody was impressed.

When Morris signed more than a few were excited.

Proof of the pudding . . .

Its a tough one with Dawes. Alot of the fans frustrations are at the club rather than Dawes himself. He had a caretaker spell in the covid season and we played some of the best football ive seen for a long time. This spell hasnt been as good, but then he hasnt had the squad that we had back then.

If we get the recruitment right - there is talk of an experienced technical director being hired, then i don't think next season will be a disaster by any means. He's capable.

He has been used as a firefighter 3 times and had to sort out problems he has not been responsible for. The negative attitude of some is not needed. If the team is doing badly with players he has signed next season then there is no problem criticising him. Some of our supporters would complain if Jurgen Klopp had left Liverpool and agreed to work for £500 a week with a transfer budget of £5m and a wage budget of £5m a season.
We are Tranmere Rovers not Barcelona. A bit of realism is needed.

Neil Danns appointed assistant manager at Tranmere Rovers.
Gutted about this.. But fair play to him, couldn't turn it down and we couldn't stand in his way.

To be honest, another season and likely promotion with us and he'd likely get a manager post higher up, not an assistant.

Pleased with the appointment of Danns, who I would have preferred to Dawes as manager.

Dawes has failed as assistant under three sacked managers and should no longer be at the club in my opinion. He did not improve results or performances in his caretaker stint this season and does not merit the job permanently.

I think we needed a clear out of the coaching staff, but at least Danns is a new voice.

Very much doubt it - has apparently turned down a number of opportunities over the years because he wants to stay in the Manchester area. Maybe if it was a club in a higher division, but can’t see this being true.

the compensation alone (4 years left on his contract) would make going to another L2 club unlikely.

Super Kev got a hammering last week because he happened to succeed at a club who had spent a bit, skipping the part where he had a. actually done well and b. cut his teeth in the lower leagues. I think he would’ve been more widely accepted as ‘young coach having played football league, Prem and had a great career’ having gone for a league job without his time at South Shields.
