The story has now been taken down, which is a bit tinpot.

Apparently the club Twitter account had a somewhat cryptic message featuring a horse and a man...some of our fans are so bloody stupid they would have been expecting Frankie Dettori to be named the new manager as he is retiring from being a jockey.

We had a Centorforward once, half man, half horse, but fed off scraps and ended up at Carlisle!

Dingley's interview at the end of the Ireland trip really didn't sound as though she expects to be given the job permanently, and that she knows the new Head Coach is imminent.
And there are some good Head coaches available who you'd expect to be interested. I'm very much not including Dave Horseman in that statement though. Big risk.
Who was the last first time Head Coach to be a success in this league? (Serious question).
Hasselbaink?

He's got to take it really, we lose on Saturday and there would be people here wanting him gone (not me).

Bit of wonga for us with him just signing a new deal.

I reckon it'd be Michael Appleton to replace, wouldn't necessarily be my choice (don't have a choice yet tbh not thought about it enough) but he was a candidate around when we got Challinor and he's out of work.

Mickey Mellon is unemployed if you need a replacement.
Rather pull my eyes out than have him here the way my colleague who supports you talked about him last season.

It's what happens when you do well in every job you're in and you're not at the top of the pyramid.

95% of managers don't do well enough to ever have their loyalty tested.

He'd go with my well wishes, he's done a fantastic job for us. I don't think any of our fans would have an iota of bad sentiment towards him if it all transpired.

On contrary, there's genuinley some of our fans who are basically saying take the money and run, I think they should be careful what they wish for personally.

Been fucked over by an incompetent director of football, just like our next manager will until the owner sees the wood through the trees and works out the common denominator.

Hopefully we can sell some dreams to some good managers. I’d like Clough tbh but doubt he will leave Mansfield and seems well backed or the babyhead at Barrow if he can drop the victim complex

We’re probably going to go for a dogshit appointment like Michael Appleton though

If we get Wild, I'd be spitting feathers to be honest. I can't stand him.

What has that Appleton ever done in management to justify the 27 jobs he's already had? Mystery to me.

Same with Clough, been managing for about 25 years yet I couldn't tell you anything he's actually achieved in that time.

I think he’s a good manager but he loves the underdog schtick too much, they looked turd against us this season as well whereas he had our number last season.

the issue with Challinor going for me is the complete lack of faith in the club to pick the correct replacement

I presume it’s because Appleton plays easy on the eye on the football and has the personality of warburtons bread so he can play nicely with corporate structures cos as a manager he’s done fuck all to keep on landing good jobs

I like Clough to be fair.

Appleton is a mystery to me too really, I don't know him that well. Just seems to always be situ at a random League One club.
