Forgot how exciting not having a manager is, genuine adrenaline rush knowing we could be managed by a 25 year old Danish PE teacher in 2 weeks

I’m just gutted we don’t have a game this weekend so probably aren’t ever going to see Jim O’Brien on the touchline. :(

He's straight in with a cup game where the opposition is 7/1 btw.

Great timing , next opponent you've just smashed 5-0 and know well.

Naturally I was expecting confirmation of Strange Luke's departure from the media team at Field Mill but it was actually Swansea City FC who officially announced the news.

Obviously disappointed because he's been great for the club and importantly instantly successful. Even with some obvious deficiencies that still need addressing he brought winning and entertaining football hence the 2nd best home and away support in the league.

Wish him all the best at the Swans, absolute no brainer to move for a multitude of reasons.

As long as we bring in someone who will continue the new footballing philosophy and style at Notts I will be happy. After the last two head coach appointments I'm confident the Bros will appoint very similar. Fully trust the process and having talented players and head coaches poached is part of it.

The agreed compensation, whatever it actually is, will be no doubt substantial for him and his assistant who had just signed new contract extensions and moving to a Championship side. I suspect the finances are looking very good this season.

Losing Palmer was a big blow and now the Head Coach and assistant gone is certainly going to be detrimental for our aims of a playoff spot but the team is well settled and clearly good enough to be in the mix as shown so far this season.

Oh and who wants L2 goal poacher and top scorer for £2m? Then we can sack off any ideas of back to back promotions and cash in big time.

It used to be exciting when it was every season and we had a good chance of guessing which out of work run of the mill manager would be next in the Meadow Lane hot seat and set to fail.

But with the Danes and Football Radar in charge there is no point getting involved. I will await a classy and snazzy social media drop from our media team once the deal is signed. Someone under 50 is my only preference

Problem is, with Luke Warm recruiting for the style you play it cuts down the choice of replacements.

It's the other way round here, which is why we'll be fine. Williams was recruited for his style of play, because it was very similar to what we were already playing, and he had minimal involvement in signing players. All done in-house - would be no surprise if we've signed three or four new players before appointing a manager.

Early names - Andrew Crofts, Stuart Maynard and (the good) Phil Parkinson.

Parkinson must be the antithesis of Williams

Danny Cowley is a sensitive little soul off the pitch funnily enough.
He doesn’t care what you say, all he’s focussing on is tomorrows game away at Swindon.
(Old non league forum joke incase you’re wondering what the fuck I’m on about) :bg:

Really wouldn't be sure about the managers at Wealdstone and Altrincham. Shouldn't be under estimated what a big step up Notts is from those two clubs.

Yeah I agree, Maynard’s a career non-league part-timer, might be a talented coach and play nice football but it doesn’t fit the bill for me. I think the managerial experience isn’t mandatory for the Reedtz boys but coaching experience at a bigger club is.

If you were trying to build a criteria it’ll be
- young-ish
- proven credible coaching experience
- comfort operating where they don’t dictate recruitment (which rules out A LOT of names)
- playing style/squad alignment (so experience within and commitment to a possession-based system)

My completely baseless shout other than he stills lives in Nottingham, is highly rated as a coach and been part of some success recently is Chris Cohen (if he wants to be a manager is a different question).

Please appoint (the good)Phil Parkinson, it's worth it for the confusion alone

He was on our list at the start of last season when Williams got it, imagine the chaos of that season but we both had the same manager.

Yeah Maynard or Parkinson don‘t really float my boat either(unless they actually get it, then I’ll love them).

I‘d imagine all this is gonna make keeping some of our better players this January harder, looking at you Macca, but you’d hope we’re going to get some very good coaches and managers applying for it.

It should certainly be an attractive proposition for managers out and in work currently due to the obvious upward trajectory of the club and great owners.

He's taking his dustpan and brush with him too to tidy the dressing room before they leave.

I also remember when Garry Hill made that ridiculously childish but funny comment about the size of Cowley's nose

An account on Twitter/X.

Known for telling Wrexham how obsessed they all are with you guys whilst tweeting about Wrexham 7 days a week, imagine he’s a 15 year old kid. We’ve all got em
Before our play off game he said they were gonna win 4-0 and said please will nobody invade pitch after we beat Grimsby.
Oh and he was Tweeting Wrexham asking how many tickets Notts would be given for the Semi Final.
Then he disappeared from Twitter for 24 hours after the game.
