Well the owner’s been talking about playing squads of 35 or something this year. I’d assume they were operating one of the lower budgets in league 1 but highly doubt that is the case in league 2. He has mentioned on Twitter making big cuts for next season, I don’t think they did too much for this one.

And they’ve made substantial losses in the year of relegation and this one. He is funding (via his company) more than infrastructure though at least seems to want them to be self sufficient. Think the intention is to clear the debt via a share issue and leave them in a reasonable state.

They’ll be up against it to stay in the league next season if they do cut back substantially to what they can afford.

They did make big cuts this season and more are to come next season. Look at the summer business compared to Sutton, operating in a different market financially.

On track to lose £1m, can’t have been that big or not anywhere near big enough!

Well definitely not big enough if they want to run even, but a lot of revenue was wiped out by being relegated too.

Cowley doing an under the radar abysmal job over at Colchester. Nobody talking about it though.
In hindsight they should’ve just retired after lincoln but clearly you wouldn’t contradicting this.

Their lack of class didn’t do them any favours across the board, if it doesn’t work out at colchester you’d imagine they’d be back to the conference or the league below next time round.

Does moving to these new “identikit” grounds actually do anything for these clubs though,

Talking about colchester Layer road was a complete car crash of a stadium, but a bloody lovelable one to anyone who enjoyed football, especially compared to the new one.

One of many mind.

Glad it's not only me who thinks this. Grossly overrated them pair. What is it, 1 win from 9 games and those including opponents like Swindon, FGR, Harrogate, Accy, Sutton and Salford.

Gets to the point where you think that Colchester are just cursed. It seems nobody can get a consistent tune out of them and they've tried all sorts of managers. Although this is about the time they have their standard good run to end the season.

I do think they are over rated but at the same time I thought they be doing a better job than this, signed some good L2 players in January too.

Perhaps their players can’t play on their swamp

The nine games before they arrived: P9, W1, D0, L8, F9, A23, GD -14
The nine games since they arrived: P9, W1, D6, L2, F10, A12, GD -2

They've definitely improved us and can feel hard done by not to have won a couple more - they will be pulling their hair out at individual howlers which can't be legislated for and we seem to gift away one goal a game at the moment. Trying to be as objective as I can, I think we should have at least four more points from their nine games which would then look like a good record, particularly given that six of their nine have been away from home.

We're much more solid at the back and we've shown enough character to come back from behind (from 0-2 down on two occasions too) so it feels as though they've galvanised enough spirit from the group, but our biggest problem is scoring goals and something in that area needs tweaking as persisting with the current set up just isn't going to cut it I wouldn't have thought.

What a c*** he is. Interesting to see how Swindon fans get on with his turgid football.

Still in the Alexander out camp btw. Him putting little runs together against crap out of form teams won't change my mind. Sparks and Rupp out too.
